@@dr.braxygilkeycruises1460 Hey there homey!!! Glad to see a friendly face!!😁😊🤣 Yes indeed, I do adore it here after too many years living the touristy life..but ohh man do I miss the rich cultures of where I grew up!!
The first time I went to Miami, we left there and stopped in Key West for a day. Before going back to the room, I bought two slices of Key Lime Pie (my favorite!). I went back to the room, showered, put on my night gown (even though it was early), then sat down and ate those slices with my eyes closed almost the entire time. It was SOOOOOOOOOOO Gooooooooooooodddd!!!!! 😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍 It may be my imagination, but that pie was vastly superior to any other kind I've had up North (DC/MD area).
Legit key lime pie is phenomenal. There is a big difference between real key lime pie and the key lime pies you find in the rest of the US that use other kinds of limes.
Pastellito de Guayaba in Cuban Spanish translates as Chincharron de Guayaba into Colombian Spanish and YES it's awesome with a cup of tea OR coffee. Guava paste is very very popular in Latin American cuisine because it's a New World fruit and It's NOT restricted to the Cubans.

I loved this one, Paul Hollywood! I was born in Miami and grew up in Coral Gables. The Biltmore Hotel was also an Army hospital at one time. Speaking of Cuban bread, I hope you had a Cuban sandwich or medianoche while your were there.
Richard Lund you do realise that there are probably as many recipe variations as there are families? This is a cookery show, he’s not going to give eleventy-million variations, he’s going to give the user friendly recipe. My family is from east end if london, Ireland and Cornwall. Not sure of the relevance, just following your example.
I disagree Juliet growing up in the Keys everyone in Key West made it with Meringue it is the true traditional Key Lime Pie only later did they make other variations outside of the keys. It was meant to be a very tart custard with a sweet fluffy meringue. Many pies of today are too sweet. Just thought I would share.
There are two styles to Key Lime Pie. The traditional Key West style is closer to lemon meringue, with a pie crust. The Miami style, which was invented by Joe’s, is more of a cheesecake texture, on a graham cracker crust. I much prefer the Miami style. Full disclosure: I probably ate a thousand slices during my fourteen seasons as a waiter at Joe’s.
@@JulieWallis1963 Meringue topping is the traditional topping of key lime pie in South Florida. You can use whipped cream in yours but it won't be a traditional key lime pie

The ads on UA-cam are getting pretty aggressive. It’s starting to have the opposite effect of their intent on me. The more they try to bully me into paying for their premium version, the less likely i am to give in. I know this has little to do with the content of this particular video, but these longer form videos seem to have more frequent and jarring breaks, and there’s also no other public forum on UA-cam for commenting on this. I understand that content creators get some form of revenue from ads, but why would they want them to break up their work in such an unflattering and unartfull way? As a user of a free service, i am willing to watch a few adds, but this is getting ridiculous.
I agree. There’s no way I’ll pay for their service after the disgusting bullying. I often get 10 ads in total on a 6 or 7 minute video. And so many of the ads are enormous. Not just 15 seconds where you’d go meh, whatever, but a minute or two minutes or three or four or even more! There’s a 15 minute ad that I get fairly often, and I’ve had two different ads that were each an hour. They don’t even have the decency to put the long ones at the end. They throw it in the middle of whatever you’re watching. It’s just rude. The other thing that’s really annoying me is that every now and then a little box will appear with a thumbs up and thumbs down option. It completely ignores you if you click the thumbs down. It says thanks for the feedback, but keeps showing you that ad. Btw, you can tell if the uploader has chosen to put them there or not. If they were placed by the uploader, you’ll see a little yellow dot in the red progress bar. And then there’s my algorithm. Perhaps I have eclectic tastes and it can’t figure out what I like, but damn it’s bad! A month and a half ago I looked up how to cook duck, because I had duck I wanted to cook. I’m still getting duck recipes. But if I dare to miss 2 videos by a channel I’m subscribed to, it wipes it from my recommendations. I’m close to giving up altogether.
