Rossini Barber of Seville - Trombonist Massimo La Rosa

Rossini’s Overture to The Barber of Seville has been a part of my life since
childhood. I first played the piece when I was ten years old in the community
band in Belmonte Mezzagno, Sicily, and was seated just a few chairs away from my father who plays the tuba. The band was comprised of many cousins and family friends. Also, my grandfather Rosolino was a former member of the band. This arrangement for tenor trombone by Yuriy Leonovich brings back many wonderful memories of my childhood. I am dedicating this performance to my father and grandfather. Massimo La Rosa
L’Overture del Barbiere di Siviglia di Rossini è stata parte della mia vita sin dall’infanzia. Ho suonato questo pezzo per la prima volta quando avevo dieci anni e cominciai a far parte della banda del mio paese, Belmonte Mezzano, in Sicilia. Ricordo di essere stato seduto poco distante da mio padre che suonava la tuba. La banda era composta da molti cugini e amici di famiglia. Inoltre, mio nonno Rosolino era un ex membro della banda. Questo arrangiamento per trombone tenore del mio caro amico Yuriy Leonovich yuriyleonovich... riporta in vita molti meravigliosi ricordi della mia infanzia in Sicilia. Dedico questa performance al mio Papa' e a mio Nonno
