I'll never understand why some people get so worked up about a band changing and exploring new sounds as they get older. They aren't the same as they were in their 20's. New experiences/relationships/marriage/children etc. change people. I embrace them.

Thanks to netflix Dead to me I've discovered these guys. While paralyzed is amazing, this song is beautiful. Not often does netflix turn me onto a good band but so glad I found this band.

The more I listen to them I feel like their lyrics are holding me and it sings to me because I feel broken. It's difficult because I deal with depression and I lost my aunt and yeah we lose people all the time and it just breaks me down this song something of pain and I can relate too.

Leute wenn ihr einmal auf den Text achtet, anstatt rumzuheulen, dass die Band jetzt Scheiße klingt, würdet ihr auch nachvollziehen, wieso der Song ruhiger und emotionaler ist. Manche Menschen sind einfach so abartig hier. 😒
für mich einer der besten Caliban Songs der letzten Jahre !!! Hoffe a kommt noch mehr in genau diesem Style !!!

This is an amazing song. Caliban as a whole seems to have become a melodic metalcore band and I am totally fine with that.

I'm not hating on this song, but I wish they'd still make stuff like they did around the turn of the century.
'A Small Boy and a Grey Heaven' was amazing. 'Vent' also had some songs I really liked. Everything after that didn't really hold my interest. It's a matter of personal taste.
Nobody is stopping them from changing, but people will judge them for it. Freedom of speech and freedom of opinion and all that. Lose old fans, get new ones. No problem. ;)

Roland P. Well said. however judging by the comments here its not the fact that they judge, its how they judge. Spitting out homophobic insults is neither constructive criticism nor changing the band back to the way they were. also they are completely mislead by this song, believing that this one song (a ballad, they are usually way softer than the origin genre) is dictating their "new" style. while the album is older than a year already.
it's not wrong to judge but please fact-based and with a serious thought to the word choice.
When you have so much pain because of you lost someone very very important for you, it can change you so much that you have to let it out somehow. Maybe this is the reason this song came to life from one of the band's member. It's not necessarily a constant change, but it had to come out. It's too heavy.

This song feels very personal. Not in that it's about a person. But to me it feels like all the words line up perfect with my 13 year romance with heroin. I'm almost 5 years clean. But that's just how it feels personally to me! 🖤🎼

+1 jeffhaf1. And, this is song is **king boring. Cannot say it otherwise. Has nothing to do with a newer or older version of a song. I used to like Caliban way back in the days....but they've grown very, very commercial in my ears. Going after all the Linkin Parks and other bands that do a similar trick: pretending 'heaviness' but with vocals and effects so very much over the top. Pity. Too clinical. Doesn't sound like real, organic music anymore...

Hendrik Müller because for some reason, stupid people make assumptions, e.g that one Ballad is setting course for the whole new style of the band, only that this song is from the last album (remastered though) where the rest is not at all like this.
but building an opinion upon facts is hard work.
so it's way easier to stay in the homophobic cycle jerk they call "true" or "trve" or "heavy" or "hard" music.
additionally they can't adapt resisting change and eventually falling behind because after all they are just some keyboard warriors who's caps lock rage will be forgotten by the ones capable of moving on.

New style of sound? Who gives a fuck. A band that's been around for a while will eventually start experimenting with new sounds, it's the natural progression over time. This song, however, is amazing.
It's unbelievable how I can relate to the lyrics. I've been depressive for years before I finally found a girl that I loved. That I could trust. Totally relate to this song and your comment man. I was heartbroken on my birthday. This girl was my best friend and we were going to start a new life together only then she cut me off, ignored me and proceeded to tell me she found someone else and for once I knew I was in love with someone and it hurt man, still does. Hope things are better for you!
it's all good man we all go through shit in life like that but it comes down to the person who matters the most which is you. Trust me man I've been in the situation before and it sucks because you feel like you can trust someone that you love but it turns out that they are nothing good for you. But just know that you have family that loves you so much and if you end your life then your family will suffer.
I really hope you're ok and doing better. I've been through the same thing and I really feel you but , trust me, even if it sounds too cliche and you've heard it before; it gets better . In fact, you realize what is important to you and you focus on it . It get's so much better... I'm here if you need anyone to talk to at any point!
