I feel you. Me refusing to give up on western star twinsteer has given me countless tipping experiences. Alt+f4 has saved me many long trips.😁

I prefer non-OP mods, they make the game dull. I use JTTS mods, it does some minor tweaks to some bad vehicles so I can use them, and also some more realistic implements that give you fuel and repair parts that you already mentioned here.

A Pro with good reaction time can also utilize the ninja winch technique to save themselfs from falling over. This has saved me many times in my 400+ hours
That's a common thing that everyone would know...but I doubt that all people would know about trailer winches being semi-offline
@@SD1ONE I know about the trailer winch but it never saved me. Ninja winch is much more usefull. Also do you play wat thunder?

@@SD1ONE thats a crazy hint. My P16 has flipped from the small wooden bridge near the place you find the P16. I burned thru a whole tank of fuel of my Chevy but cant get the P16 back on its Wheels. Now ill try to Whinch a Trailer to the P16 and try the Trailerwhinch to recover him. Im on Hard Mode so which me luck ^^
i love the connections the snowrunner youtubers have. it's awesome to see you refer to nate as a pro. he happens to be another one of my favorites for snowrunner tips and tricks. also, the scout wedge tip is awesome...i saved a buddy in a p16 with a tuz 166

@@yungsagegaming8577 LMAO sure so basically if you back any small scout against a solid surface (guardrail, tree, another truck, etc., and winch to an overturned truck...if your scout can't be removed from its wedge then the other vehicle is guaranteed to flip over) and it works like magic. i've used a lo4f to recover a paystar 5600ts with the repair addon and a loaded flatbed semi as well

Love seeing the Transtar used so much in this vid. One of my favorite trucks to play around with. Even held a WR for Barrels Delivery contest in Drowned Lands in the past.
Playing the game in its stock condition is a challenge and always is fun but gets boring after one or two playthroughs. Moddiing is a gift to PC gaming community fortunately in this game console players can enjoy it aswell. Yeah! It's true that this game has too many OP mods that's the beauty of xml editing, like you can make things OP you can choose to make them non OP. Most of the mods I use in this game, I personally tweak them to make them as close to base game as possible.
Of these options, I'm definitely a pro. I like a few mods here and there to spice things up, but mostly, I'm happy with what we got.
To be honest, i think any game life spam depends on its modders and mods as it gives the players the flexibility and freedom of making the game just the way they like mostly for the heavy single player games
yup and it's already been proved with Spintires before... that game had no update for years but modders kept it alive which make sequels like MR, SR possible
XML edits are a great way to balance vehicles that have been crippled to fit with Sabre's vision of progression/truck tiers. 16-series engines for the Pacific P12 and P16, as well as increasing the solid dirt traction value for P16 tires to compensate for the game's torque issues. There's no situation where the wheels of a 60,000 pound truck should spin on solid, dry dirt considering the real life P16 can pull 300,000 pounds of logs on steep mountain roads without losing traction.
Sabre's vision is American trucks are junk, Russian or ex-Soviet trucks are king of offroad. Just look at those rediculars limit on American trucks that supposed to be capable: MK38 can't change frame addon; MK38C has very limited choice; P12 doesn't have enough power to tow trailer uphill with big crane on it; 5600TS's fuel range is basiclly its own frame length, and no highsaddle; 6900TS has no trailer; Derry 4520's tiny engine is only enough to move itself until new engine recently; DLC CT681 and 49x has DEAD axle; Chevy Apache is front wheel drive when AWD off; and more. I am afraid if no war in Ukraine, 4520 won't get new engine, no new Derry, no new Mack and Kenworth. One of few times that we get benefited from politics correction.
Wish this was possible on PS5, I'd have a blast messing with normally unviable vehicles
@@pqhkr2002 I'm glad for Rnger and his US military trucks. They're absolutely amazing and really enhance US truck fleets for me. 49'-57' tyres really do good work
@@mathiasrryba You mean MOD? I currently play mod-free. I am going to try high quality mods after the game finish developing. Because I don't want to deal with compatibility issues after game updates.
@@pqhkr2002 I wouldn't expect such issues tbh since years old mods appear to be working perfectly fine.
But yeah Rnger trucks really good to fill in the jgarage with capable US trucks
The XML editor you showed here is a godsend. The main kind of modding I do for my own enjoyment is tweaking the trucks and trailers often adding things like diff lock or AWD because I work with similar equipment in real life and know that there are aftermarket companies that do offer AWD conversions or at least limited slip diff options for all but the most exotic trucks. Not having to constantly unpack and repack the XML files will make tweaking much faster.
Agreed, These types of mods won't top the download charts but I tried to show them in my videos so that they get more recognisation....I hope the modder to keep it updated
How can I add diff lock in xml edditor?
@@karabinek_ Once you select the truck you want to edit go to the suspension tab and you will see a option for the Diff Lock. I strongly suggest just selecting 'Always' as I can't say how the game will react to trying to add a selectable diff.
Bonus Tip: Right above the diff lock option is a place where you can edit the center of mass of the truck. If you put a negative value for the Y axis you will have a much more stable truck. Don't try anything over -4 (I find -3.5 to be fairly reliable) as that can cause the trucks physics to freak out and start bouncing across the map.

I don't use many mods as a console player, but saying this about game time, I typically skip the nights
Wish the devs would start implementing some of the stuff that modders are doing, ie the real truck stuff like the p12 roughneck.
that mod is made by my friend max power...he goes by fugo in mo.io .... Its very nice mod and he carefully selected realistic parts only

I also love games with official mod support. It really greatly increases value of the game as there are always some insanely talented people who brings amazing mods that are sometimes better than official DLCs.
Just... open the map and skip time. Morning noon evening night to skip to.
@@mathiasrryba The point of having static datetime is not to bother with skipping time all time as it is anoying.
In general, I like using mods with new trucks or mechanics (like bridges, this new oilfield skids etc.) but since I'm on PC I can tune them down to match vanilla ones. It's a bit of a shame that most modders don't give the option to choose between normal and op engines/tires, especially for console players :P
When Snowrunner was released, I got the "Deluxe" version with Seasonpass 1.
So far I have completed all the missions and tasks (except for most of the contests) single-handedly in Vanilla.
When I started there was neither hard mode nor new game+.
I wonder if I am a pro or not? I also use Recover as often as I can, because I simply avoid annoying double trips. But there are also moments when you have to bail out a stuck truck with a second or third one or save the resources (like logs).
Map knowledge and knowing the best routes and where to find and get which resources is simply essential here.

we can all agree that atleast all of us is pro and a modder at some point, to make the game feel more better in your own way

That tree mods actually makes it more realistic.
I mean, if you tried attaching a truck weighing several tons and stuck in mud to a small tree like that it’d rip right out, so I’d say the stock behaviour is accurate.
"Remove rocks" is a blessing". I don't use OP trucks or stuff like that, but this mod is my "go to". Almost stopped to play Snowrunner in the past only because of rocks, because most of the time they make absolutly no sense and are a pain in the ***... Look at real off road videos, and except for rock climbers videos, tell me when you can see so many rocks on road even on ice (look at Alaska truckers videos crossing frozen rivers or lakes). Beside, SR has many other challenges to cope with. Rocks everywhere are simply useless.
Since they also leave traffic cones, roadblocks AFTER the landslides are removed and in general the absolute state of the roads in snow runner, how inexplicably asphalt just starts and ends seemingly at random and how sometimes trees grow right on the road it's my lore that Snowrunner world is some post apocalypse, lol

I agree with this to a point. But everyone can agree the Apache benefitted 100% from xml tweaks because Sabre gave it to us a fwd with no tow capability.

Which mod map do you use to test/compare vehicles?
Mods can improve a game by adding more immersive stuff or implementing new things that makes the game more interesting, but mods that render a game too easy to play? It dulls the game.
I did not know there was an XML editing tool, i had just been using notepad to make changes when i just cant get around an obsticle and i dont want to trudge accross 2 maps for a different vehicle when my destination is a few thousand feet away

Trailers have an anonymous winch? I have to check it out!
semi autonoumous....if you connected them before your truck flip...they'll stay connected unlike truck where winch gets disconnected once it's flipped.

@@Don_Mag Maybe but it's there for a long time and can be make use of in certain situations.
@@SD1ONE Possible, but it is difficult to hook the winch from the trailer at the critical moment.
@@Don_Mag I mean if you're like in almost tipped position and your truck can't reach winch in right direction..I know there're lot of conditions involved but still it won't harm people to know about this little trick.

Yes, You can change whatever you want..AWD and fuel tank included...Almost all things can be changed individually

It's not win lose...main objective was to showcase mods...that's all.
So far I haven't seen a mod map that was better than the default maps.

I prefer to play unmodded personally. But to each their own choices on how they play, the only one I discourage is abusing mods to get infinite money and break the "balance" of the game... If you're just using textures, and like, trailer packs, that's fine, but too many modded trucks are just unbalance and broken.

Only those oilfield P12 and TwinSteer I showed are avaialble on consoles....rest of mods are manual install so can't possible on consoles.
I personally feel this game is so easy, so i better use handicapped default trucks than modded trucks. Since most of them feel like cheating and making so easy game even more easy and boring.

Only mod i use is a log trailer pack bc i for tired of doing 4 trips for each logging mission agms having to pay like 16k for the trailer
I take those kind of missions as an opportunity to test different trucks and setups. No mods.

Naaaaah, mods are not for me beside mods that are improving some small glitches from core game. I need to enhance my gameplay and not spoil it
There're many mods which enhance gameplay...not all mods are OP....Their are like addons and trailer mods which are realistic...vanilla addons are mixed experiece some look good on some trucks while some look terribly wrong.

Except for the two at the end uou just said modders cheat to make the game easier. For me personally that sorta defeats the purpose of the game. I do appreciate the well thought out or balanced mods out there though.
Also not gonna lie, no rocks is tempting.
I think the only problem with vanilla game is the difference between american and russian trucks: the americans one are too much weak and need a lot of adjustement to work well
Irl Russian trucks are great. So it's realistic xd

There isn't much difference between IRL Russian trucks and their Snowrunner counterparts, but there is a big difference between IRL American / Canadian trucks and their Snowrunner counterparts. Perhaps the biggest difference is between Pacific trucks in real life and Pacific trucks in Snowrunner. The real life P16 can pull over 300,000 pounds of logs on steep mountain roads, the Snowrunner P16 struggles to pull itself up a hill. The real life P12 generally had tires in the 60-70 inch range while working, in Snowrunner it's limited to the 57 inch tires used to make it road legal for shipping between job sites.

this has to be the worst comparison generalizing modders only using op stuff, me and a buddy use real life mod to make mud extremely difficult to get through, fuel tanks bigger and lower fuel cost but even it out with randomized fuel cost at gas stations. some truck mods for more addons, realistic tires for obvious physics changes.
