Having shred guitars and getting one of these I was so surprised I still am stupidly happy after playing this guitar comparing it to my Jackson's and charvel's and Les Paul's it's f****** an amazing shred guitar takes no backseat to my higher end guitars💰💰💰🤪 Holy s*** I never thought I would be so amazed with a PRS!! 🌟
My fretboard's rosewood but it's a dark rosewood and once you treat it it looks like ebony and it's fast and icy slick like ebony unbelievable thank you PRS! The price point with the quality is ridiculously awesome I can't get over it I've been playing guitar 30 years it's f****** amazing🌟🤸🤸
I purchased an SE Custom 24 w/ Floyd Rose back in 2016, and I still love it. On thing I noticed with this model is that the bridge pick up is a little hotter and more midrange than a regular Se 24. I had bought one with a fixed bridge and returned it because it sounded too muddy for me. I exchanged it for the Floy Rose and was happy with the sound. It is the same color as the one in the video also!!!. If I do have any gripes is that the neck pick up is still too bassie when used with high gain, however sounds great if playing with a little dirt for some blues jamming.
I’m indecisive between this and the regular PRS SE custom 24 and the PRS SE custom 24-08. But I think I might prefer this one, as I really like ebony fretboards and quite dig Floyd rose bridges.
Stunning guitar, the only thing stopping me buying is I can’t decide if the FR would be a pain...would need to choose a tuning and stick to it during a session
@@GuitarTalkUK good thinking! Though I’m also thinking this guitar lends itself to lower tuning, half step down etc. Hard to know whether to go with the standard custom 24 se or this one which also has ebony fretboard. No right answer I guess!
just bought one , love the guitar but pickups are awful so I ordered the ones that are in the usa custom 500 bucks later Ill let you know when they come in
Great review, Dan. This might be just what I need - sumptuous looks - FR trem (licensed, maybe?) - coil splitting for my single coil light crunch or mega high gain from the HBs. "Does it come with locking tuners" and a D-TUNA for drop D, are the only remaining questions?
It doesn’t have locking tuners but the locking nut should remove the need for those, the d tuna is an evh product so it doesn’t come on PRS guitars but they do retrofit to floyds and aren’t expensive so it would be easy to get one and install
The Floyd Rose is NOT licensed and it's not a PRS Floyd Rose 1000, just a regular Floyd Rose 1000. That means it's made to exactly the same specs as the German made OFR, but made in Korea.
Nice work, I'm gassing now!! I've got a 1997 CE 24. Trem works great but it's not a Floyd. One question I have if anyone knows, can you use a D-Tuna with this? The CE is great but when I tune down to drop D I have to tune several stings since it's a floating bridge. A Floyd/D-Tuna would help a lot.
I love my PRS custom 24 FR, but the only thing I don't like is the pickup selector position. It is so unconfortable to change pickup fastly like in a strat
Is the action low or high? Can you measure for me? Can you tell me if tis 1.5mm at the 12th fret or if you know inches .06"? I've had issues with Indonesian SEs and couldn't get the action low to about 1.5mm without lowering the Tremolo which defeats the purpose of having one.
PRS just announced they're selling a left handed version of that exact guitar until the end of March 2023. I'm going to grab one since it looks like an amazing guitar.
I hope you got one. I was skeptical when I got mine in 2013. Once the wood adjusted to my set up, that baby gave me serious playability and sound. It was amazing out of the box, incredible when it settled to my set up.
Freaking endless I couldn't believe the Floyd either. Goes Toe to toe w/ my Charvels & Jackson's. I was going to get another Les Paul Axcess NOPE CYA GIBSN RIPOFF PRICES -- for the money difference and the absolute kick ass playability this guitar is a f****** monster I had no idea 👍💪🤘 85/ 15s not as hot as my others BUT The bridge pickup is hot enough to push its not getting pulled like I originally thought .... This is a shred guitar 💥🌟💖
Completely depends where in the world you are. Different countries have different import costs and taxes. Your best bet for a price is to check the website of a guitar store local to you

One of the most beautiful guitars I’ve ever seen and listened to.
PRS really need to start puting more Floyds in their guitars.

Mine arrived today ! it's in my hands as I am watching this vid....smiling happily. I am going to have the PRS \m/ metal buckers in it.

So what did you end up deciding on? This one is great for people who do tremolo abuse
Oh, I neglected to say - this SE sounds fantastische!

You could add an EVH D Tuner if you wanted to flick back and forth between a drop tuned low string and standard?

First thing i thought bit bright

@@GuitarTalkUK The D-Tuna is not that easy to install on a floating Floyd Rose. I believe it will need a permanent mod.
BTW. The Floyd Rose 1000 is also on my 2018 MIK Custom 24 Floyd.
What is the fret size on this guitar? I can't seem to find the info anywhere.
I am looking for information on the brand of the locking nut ? Is it a Shaller ?
That looks stunning 🤩

Great review Dan, like this alot
If compared to Strat, is PRS harming when on high gain?
Not that sophisticated, sounds too crunchy for my taste. Would have liked to hear cleans and lead on both pickups.

Starts video: "Hey guys, what is up" *hand clap.*
Stops video immediately.
Writes comment. Leaves.
Why they made it in that color only 😢😢😢
How's the accessibility to the higher frets?
Really good

It says rosewood fretboard on PRS website with this model?
At the time of filming it was ebony, not sure if they changed it at some point after the initial release
Buen video, aclarando los puntos a detalle de este modelo de guitarra. Saludos desde Peru!
Great review! How does this PRS compare to the Ibanez AZ Premium series in terms of versatility? I mean especially some heavier tones.
Please how do I change strings on this guitar. Its urgent please
There are a lot of tutorial videos on YT. However, with your first Floyd, I'd recommend taking it to a professional.
What I really want to know is what are you playing through in this vid? Amp? Modeler? VST?
From the age of this video probably the ML Soundlab ML5 plugin
Nice review !!!
Does this model have a darker charcoal finish than the regular SE 24?
Not that I’m aware of, but I haven’t seen the non floyd version in person
its seems so to me too cause it look better
Im pretty confused because it is advertised as grey black but sold by almost every seller as charcoal burst
And there aren’t any other finish options than grey black on the prs website
It might be that they’ve quietly changed the colour description since this was filmed a few months ago
Great vid Bro! I wish they would come in other colors now instead of grey but still a great color
Very helpful. Thank you.
PRS factory in Mojokerto East Java Indonesia
very interesting this axe 🎸 is
Finally!
Oh I see... "Alt.Strum"?
I thought these are made in Korea?
Not for a few years now, older models are but they moved to a factory in Indonesia. You can see some great videos of the factory on the prs channel
hey man can you tell me where can i buy that things..??
How much is it?
Completely depends where in the world you are. Different countries have different import costs and taxes. Your best bet for a price is to check the website of a guitar store local to you
