I’ve watched, read, listened to a lot of people who interject what they think they know, or something untrue that was told to them. So I’ll leave this question for you to think about. This is strictly from the Bible. Have you ever wondered what happens to all the souls of the billions of people who were born and died before Christ was born and never had the chance to hear the gospel or even hear the name of Christ? Do you think Christ would leave there souls to go to Hell because in the Bible it is clear the only way to heaven is through him? You must be baptized and believe I’m his name to enter. Right, so where does faith even come from how do you become alive? Is it works that saves us or are works a result of salvation? Its not works that save its Jesus.
Once you were dead because of your disobedience and your many sins. 2 You used to live in sin, just like the rest of the world, obeying the devil-the commander of the powers in the unseen world.[a] He is the spirit at work in the hearts of those who refuse to obey God. 3 All of us used to live that way, following the passionate desires and inclinations of our sinful nature. By our very nature we were subject to God’s anger, just like everyone else.
4 But God is so rich in mercy, and he loved us so much, 5 that even though we were dead because of our sins, he gave us life when he raised Christ from the dead. (It is only by God’s grace that you have been saved!) 6 For he raised us from the dead along with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms because we are united with Christ Jesus. 7 So God can point to us in all future ages as examples of the incredible wealth of his grace and kindness toward us, as shown in all he has done for us who are united with Christ Jesus.
8 God saved you by his grace when you believed. And you can’t take credit for this; it is a gift from God. 9 Salvation is not a reward for the good things we have done, so none of us can boast about it. 10 For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.

A Mormon, or more properly, a Member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints here!
I just wanted to reply to Abigail Joy’s comment here (so it doesn’t get lost in the weeds) and to the video itself.
I’ll post my rebuttals to the video in the replies to this comment.
So as far as adding to the Bible goes, each book in the Bible that says nothing should be added or taken away, like in Revelation 22:18-19 is referring to that scripture itself.
The Bible wasn’t compiled until a few hundred years after the last book which was put in it was written, which was not the Book of Revelation, btw.
As far as Deuteronomy 4:2 goes, if we are to read it the same way we read Revelation 22:18-19, then nothing after Deuteronomy 4:2 should ever have been written or be considered scripture.
What’s more, there is no scripture in The Bible which says that books of scripture would be compiled into the Bible and that there would be no more scripture after it, that after it was compiled it would be a closed canon.
If we look to The Book of Revelation, the entire thing is written to the 7 churches of the day as we read in Revelation 1:4.
We can learn from it and see it as revelation, but this scripture was sent as a stand-alone work to the 7 churches, and John is saying in Revelation 22:18-19: don’t add anything or take away anything from the words of the Prophecy of this book.
If you do, you will be cursed.
If I send a text to a family member and say: don’t share this message with grandma-We’re having a surprise party for her!
Are we to assume that I meant for all my messages to not be shared with grandma?
No. I am talking about what I’m sending in that moment.
So too, with John sending the Revelation to the 7 churches, a stand alone work, of which the warning to not add or take away from it was a part.
When John wrote/recorded The Book of Revelation, The Bible hadn’t been compiled yet. There was no Bible. There were Scriptures which were the Word of God but no Bible.
The Books of Scripture were compiled into The Bible a few hundred years later in a Catholic Council, for which I am very grateful.

yeah that's why what mormons believe makes more sense than traditional christians. We believe that after we die, there is a spirit world where people who aren't Christian/never learned about the gospel are able to learn and choose whether to accept or reject it. In addition, after the final judgment(which is after the 2nd coming), almost everyone will be in one of the 3 kingdoms of glory, according to your closeness to God. So if you don't believe, than you'll be in the lowest kingdom, which is the best fit for people who aren't close to God. This plan of salvation reflects a truly loving God who loves everyone and gives everyone a fair chance, and doesn't condemn the majority of His people for eternity.

Mormon, or more properly referred to as a Member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints here!
I’m grateful you’re trying to teach others about my faith, but frankly I’m wondering where you guys get your information from.
The video mentions many incorrect or misleading things, but I wanted to touch on one which I’m pretty bummed about.
I know I said I’d reply to the video in the replies to my last comment, but since it is so serious in nature, I needed to make a separate comment.
We do not believe or teach that we earn Heaven.
As Mosiah 3: 17 in The Book of Mormon says:
17 And moreover, I say unto you, that there shall be no other name given nor any other way nor means whereby salvation can come unto the children of men, only in and through the name of Christ, the Lord Omnipotent.
We affirm that only Jesus saves, but that He has required things of us-commandments to keep and ordinances to undergo.
Ordinances which allow for salvation and exaltation.
We see in the Old Testament how ordinances were required of the Lord.
We also see how Jesus says that his baptism was necessary in Mathew 3.
Paul rebaptized people in Acts 19 because it was not done by the true authority of Jesus Christ/they were not given the gift of the Holy Ghost by the laying on of hands afterword.
If Jesus Christ is perfect and was baptized and said his baptism was needed, then oh, how much more need have we to be baptized!
No ordinance or action earns us Heaven. We do not believe this. This is an incorrect teaching about us.
Instead we believe that prerequisites exist.
Just you believe that faith is a prerequisite, that no one who does not have faith in Jesus Christ is saved, we believe faith, good works (see James 2:14-26, Matthew 7:21-23), and ordinances are needed.

    • @Repent_and_believe_the_gospel
      @Repent_and_believe_the_gospel 5 місяців тому

The Bible says we are saved by faith alone, but the saving faith produces good fruits and good deeds. They will follow, but are not a requirement for salvation. Also the man on the cross next to Jesus couldn't be baptized anymore...still he was saved.
Of course, if you have the opportunity it is right and very important to get baptized, but the point is that faith alone in the LORD JESUS CHRIST saves. (Ephesians 2:8-9)

    • @davidlintonrecords7062
      @davidlintonrecords7062 5 місяців тому

@Repent_and_believe_the_gospel so nowhere in the Bible is “faith alone” mentioned or taught. There is no scripture which says “faith alone” anywhere in the Bible.
It is taught in Ephesians 2:8 that Grace saves. So not faith and not works. It is through our faith that Jesus’ Grace saves us.
Please look to James 2:14-26 to see that faith without works is dead and works without faith is dead and that works (coupled with faith) do justify us.
James 2 also touches on the fact that Satan and his followers believe Jesus saves and they know Him-they have more than faith, but of course they are not saved.
We believe these are prerequisites to salvation (the exercising (or choosing) of faith, and works, or doing the will of Jesus’ Father in Heaven.
There are scriptures in the Bible which says calling upon the name of the Lord (prayer) saves (Acts 2:21), another which says baptism and faith saves (Mark 16:16) and if we look to Matthew 7:21, Jesus, Himself, says:
      Matthew 7: 21
Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.
So faith still plays a vital role, a needed role, but The Bible itself indicates that faith alone does not save-there are other components to Jesus’ commandments and Gospel.

So many half truths and poor understanding of the doctrine. Joseph Smith set to 'restore' the church established by Christ and the Apostles because of a great apostasy. There are many verses in the Bible that show ideas aren't completely expounded upon and lost. One example would be the kingdoms of Glory that Paul mentions in 1st Corinthians. Another would be the spirit world and yes preaching the gospel to the dead and bringing them to salvation. This is mentioned multiple times in 1 Peter and also in one of Pauls letters. The Temple was destroyed so also restoring the temple to perform ordinances. God is not only spirit. He has a spirit along with a body like all of us. We are his children and created in his image. Ignore all other passages that refer to us as the offspring of God. Romans 8:17 talks about how we are heirs of God and joint-heirs with Christ. Faith and works is necessary and its in the James that faith without works is dead. When we face judgement its not only about your faith but what you have become. Being judged based on your works is not a summation but rather what you have become and if you had a change of heart.

Revelation 21 and 22 tell us what heaven will be like. Believers will be all together on the new earth and new heaven serving God and Christ. No will be married. People will not be separated on different planets or levels. Women will not be sharing their husbands with other women and the 'other women' will not be separated from their families so they can serve as part of a man's harem of women.

I would just like to say, as a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Later Day Saints, that if we are really seeking for the truth that God has for us we should follow Christs teaching in Matthew 7. He teaches not to judge, to - Ask and recieve, seek and find, knock and have it opened unto thee -, and to determine false prophets by their fruits. If you have not read the Book of Mormon and sincerly prayed about its validity as true words of God , given to ancient prophets, I would suggest not judging it prematurely.
John 7:24 Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous judgment.
I know that the Book of Mormon contains the words of God, I have read it and earnestly asked God to let me know if it is true. I know that if anyone here does the same, they will recieve an answer as well. For anyone who would like to judge without proper investigation all I can ask you is, why do you trust in the arm of flesh, God have given us a way to know for sure?

I have read the Book of Mormon. God has told me that it is false. Christ has said that I don't need to believe the Book of Mormon is true to get to the 'top level' of heaven. I have a witness of the Holy Ghost.
The Book of Mormon, 600 BC., is historically inaccurate, starting with I Nephi 1. The first deportation from Jerusalem occurred nine years prior in 609 BC. There would be no need to prophesy the destruction of Jerusalem. It was well under way.
The language of Reformed Egyptian has never existed. Egyptians speak Arabic. Jews speak Hebrew. No person in the nation of Israel would ever speak the language of their captors from hundreds of years earlier in Egypt.
No Jewish person would record their history in the language of Egypt. That would be like Jewish people recording their history in the language of Nazi Germany.
I worship and pray to the true and living God who spoke the universe into existence out of nothing, including the planet that the LDS Heavenly Father came from and the star Kolob that he lives near.
The true and living God offers forgiveness of sins, salvation, eternal life, and exaltation for free if you are interested. That is how much God loves you. ❤️

Yes and yes. When a worldview begins with a clean break and a jump to direct, personal revelation, it is quite weak (no history / no evidence). Then, the leaders (either knowingly in on the grift, or out of fear) focus negatively on any focused questioning.
Islam, Mormonism, and the Jehovah’s witnesses share this framework. 1) prophet has direct revelation from God/god. 2). All prior views were wrong/mistranslated. 3). You must work really hard in this system to (maybe) merit God/God’s favor.

I think you mean the person making the video. If so I'd like to know what part you say the Mormon Church doesn't teach. I reviewed the video and made a list of his main points:
      1. 4 sources of divinely inspired text: Bible, BoM, Pearl of Great Price and D&C
      2. That God attained the level of supreme being of the universe.
      3. God has a body of flesh and bones
      4. Adam was Father god (he says this teaching has been abandoned by the modern church)
      5. Different levels in the afterlife
      6. Jesus's incarnation was due to a physical relationship between God and Mary
      7. Humans can become god
      8. Salvation earned by a combination of grace and works
Final question. If you claim that the church doesn't teach any of these doctrines do you also deny that the prophets of the church have made these claims?
I'm just trying to get a sense of the historicity of these claims. Thank you.

@@blusheep2 He was talking about the video. Generally, if you're looking for genuine, correct information on the Church and what it teaches, a random UA-cam video like this with biases, incorrect information, and from someone who believes something contrary to the Mormon belief (who propagates misinformation surrounding our religion) is probably not the best source of information. A lot of the information in this video is straight up inaccurate, coming from a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (the Mormon church).
      To answer your questions:
      1. Yes, that is correct. The bible is considered the word of God as far as it is translated correctly. The Book of Mormon, Pearl of Great Price, and D&C are all scriptures in the Mormon religion, divinely inspired.
      2. I mean, sure? I guess I've never really heard it said that way. It's more taught that God is the creator of the universe, not like he had to destroy other beings to attain his level of supremacy or something. Honestly, there's not a whole lot we know about this aspect of God - if we knew everything, there would be no point in coming to Earth.
      3. Yes, that is correct. Joseph Smith and others in the scriptures specifically mention a body of flesh and bones.
      4. No, that is not correct. Adam is a son of God, like everyone else on Earth. He was divinely appointed to be the first person on Earth along with Eve. Him being father God has never been taught in the Mormon church.
      5. Yes, it's actually quite complicated so if you really want me to go in depth, hit me back I guess. It makes a lot of sense though.
      6. Yes, that is what the Bible says basically. I feel like it's more implied than specifically taught, this isn't really a main point of doctrine. I'm not even sure why the guy in the video talks about this lol it's so insignificant and shouldn't really matter? We don't really know how all that worked entirely anyways.
      7. Yes, everyone on Earth has the potential to become like God, assuming they "pass the test" that is our trials on Earth.
      8. Yeah, that sounds about right.
Final question: I'm gonna need elaboration here: which prophet taught that Adam was Father God?? I guess I'm a little confused as to what you're referring to here.
Feel free to hit me back if you have any more questions :)

This may be off topic but is food for thought.
To understand God one should first understand the nature of knowledge. Knowledge inherently has no material form. That which we see is the physical representation of knowledge. For instance, imagine all light bulbs on earth are destroyed, even then the knowledge of the light bulb still exists. Since knowledge inherently has no material form it is eternal (no beginning & no end) Now with that said one needs to understand the different types of knowledge. 1st of course is the knowledge of awareness. We know that it exists because it is what we truly are. We are the knowledge of awareness & since we know that knowledge inherently has no material form, we know that what we truly are is eternal in nature. (no beginning & no end). Our bodies are the physical representation of the knowledge of all it's corresponding parts both big & small. If the knowledge of a thing didn't exist then we would never see the physical representation of it. Now if we know that we are eternal in nature, then we know that some other being did not create us, or even create the knowledge of the light bulb, since it too is inherently eternal (no beginning & no end). However, that is not to say there isn't an intelligence of awareness that has been awakened unto the knowledge of all things. (Effectively making them GOD). One could argue that there is truly only this One knowledge of awareness (GOD) in existence and it is focusing it's awareness in every variation of perceived reality simultaneously. Which effectively makes us all apart of a single whole. For instance imagine you where seeing reality through 2 different bodies at the same time and in one of the bodies you had blocked out your perception of humility & in the other body you blocked out your perception of logical thinking. Now it would still be you perceiving reality through both bodies but individually they would be perceptually separate. On the other hand one could argue that since one piece of knowledge is eternally separate from any other piece of knowledge, like the knowledge of the light bulb is eternally separate from the knowledge of a strawberry. One could argue there is a single unique piece of knowledge (That is you) combined with the knowledge of awareness effectively setting you apart from all others. Eternal none the less.

@@supernathanjr No you dont, you dont at all, the saying you losers use "as man is god once was, as god is man may become" is from your doctrine. Mormon Doctrine says you have an "infinite number" of Gods and the D&C again says multiple gods. That is among your standard works.

"“I think so. If God became God by obedience
to all of the gospel law with the crowning point
being the celestial law of marriage, then that’s the
only way I can become a god.”
“Right. And it is the law that assists us in
reaching that potential. It tells us what we must do
to gain the ultimate freedom. In fact, it is by obe-
dience to law that we have progressed to our pres-
      ent position.” "
"God was once a man who, by obedience, advanced to his present state of per-
fection; through obedience and celestial marriage we may progress to the point
      where we become like God.
Proclaiming the divine potential within man,
John Taylor once wrote, “Knowest thou not that
thou art a spark of Deity, struck from the fire of
His eternal blaze, and brought forth in the midst of
everlasting burnings.” {The Mormon, 29 Aug.
1857.) Elder B. H. Roberts stated, “Man has de-
scended from God; in fact, he is the same race as
the Gods. His descent has not been from a lower
form of life, but from the Highest Form of Life; in
other words, man is, in the most literal sense, a
Child of God. This is not only true of the spirit of
man, but of his body also.” ( Course of Study for
      Priests, 1910, p. 35.) "
"Such a noble goal demands very careful preparation and diligent and valiant
effort. As you begin your study of how to achieve a celestial marriage, remember
      these words of Brigham Young:
“But the whole subject of the marriage relation is not in my reach, nor in any
other man’s reach on this earth. It is without beginning of days or end of years; it
is a hard matter to reach. We can tell some things with regard to it; it lays the
foundation for worlds, for angels, and for the Gods; for intelligent beings to be
crowned with glory, immortality, and eternal lives. In fact, it is the thread which
runs from the beginning to the end of the holy Gospel of Salvation- of the Gospel
of the Son of God; it is from eternity to eternity.” ( Discourses of Brigham Young,
      p. 195.)
      The Course of Study
Achieving a Celestial Marriage differs from other course manuals in that it
contains lessons and reading materials for two separate courses of study. These
      are:
      A. CDFR 1 60, Preparing for a Celestial Marriage. This course is designed for
single young adults and emphasizes dating, courtship, and preparing for a worthy
      temple marriage.
      B. CDFR 161, Building a Celestial Marriage. This course is designed for mar-
ried couples and deals with husband- wife relationships, the obligations and chal-
lenges of parenthood, and the process of building a celestial marriage. "

They basically belive that every human being can become God.
They think that God from the bible was once a man who later became God by doing good actions and a series of rituals (that only Mormons know) and Jesus is his son and he, as his father, has became God.

The present christianity is a lie and corrupt. There is only 1 god and Jesus is only the messenger of god. Christians sometimes say "Jesus is son of god" or "Jesus is god" you see there are mutliplte opinions so christianity is a lie in the current day and age. Dont even talk about religions like hinduism and buddaism they F$king worship statues 💀💀. And think about it why does god need a human son???? Isnt he all powerful and all knowing?? SO that only leaves 1 religion and thats islam. Think about it. depending on ur choice the consequence can be severe
