- Take a 2 1/2 hour flight from Los Angeles to Austin just for BBQ? Why not! Our first visit to Terry Black's BBQ did not disappoint. But, is it the best we've had? And, since we're in Texas, time to check out the closest Buc-ee's from Austin. Sounds like a fun day!!

Wife and I did a bbq tour of Austin. Black’s , Franklins, Mickelthwaite, Stiles and Interstellar are all phenomenal. Just the start. Austin literally has about 30 bbq joints better than most places best.
Austin is a hidden foodie paradise!
I just love the way you two don’t let grass grow under your feet! I get to go and see all the wonderful places you do, and I thank you
You two....Fly for the day to eat and return home. Thank you to Delta for enabling these two to enjoy Austin BBQ. Sooooo yummy.
Terry Blacks is soooo good! Fantastic BBQ.
Terry Blacks one of my top 5 no doubt about it! 😋 also try Snows BBQ (Lexington TX) only open Saturdays get there @5am thank me later! ☝🏽
We were driving through Texas a few years ago and had dinner at Terry Blacks. It was soooo good!!
These bbq joints look amazing but the prices are on another planet, great job though Bill and Lisa 👍🇬🇧
I was thinking the same. They had to have gone up.
Wow!!! Makes me want to travel to Texas now. Having a bill and Lisa marathon while having me some wine , thank you for visiting and sharing.
It's worth every penny ...so good 🤙🏾
hell of a review of terry blacks!
8:58 “that’s what she said”. (The Office) 😂😂. Sorry. Inappropriate but made us tear. ❤❤. Iris said the “ole” Bill would love that. Lisa….❤️☘️ love the shirt.
That BBQ looks on point, not gonna lie. It is glistening.
Yay! So happy to see this video!! Terry Black’s is my favorite. I go there every time I go to Austin.
Lol at Bill putting his hand to his face and saying to Lisa it's art. Look it up
Antone’s is a Houston thing. Decades ago, a fellow named Antone had a chain of ritzy specialty grocery stores full of exotic imported goods. They also sold sandwiches. Now, you can find the sandwiches everywhere, including grocery and convenience stores although there are also a few Antone’s restaurants that make the sandwiches to order and serve a variety of other dishes. The “original” is the one to get as it has Antone’s signature chow chow, which is basically a condiment that makes the mayonnaise pop.
Next trip go to Snow’s bbq in Lexington, TX. A great story and only open on Saturday’s.
Hey this is where I Live!!!!!!!! Love it!,,,,,,,,,,,,,
My mouth was watering when you took a bite of the beef rib...
OMG! I was totally salivating watching this! You know how to live it up!❤️
I love how y’all travel. So awesome! Bill and Lisa👍🏾❤️
Thanks for the shout out!! 50 years around this planet!! That brisket had my mouth watering hard!!
Our pleasure!
The best state in the union must have the best BBQ. Love TX.
Y'all are sooo sweet talking about all the food, and that old saying you eat with your eyes first, and then your mouth, well heaven sakes, would you both get eating with you mouths, that's what we want to see after eye eating, it is good to talk about it, and to let us know how good every thing is, but (eat please.❤❤)
Omgggg this is DEFINITELY on my bucket list 🤗😋👍
I used to live in Lockhart Texas where there's also another Black's Barbecue place right off of town square👍👍
BBQ looks so good. Nice to see you both are traveling safe. Gods speed.
Haha!! You folks are so funny and cute!! “Stop fondling the meat”! 😂well said Bill😊👍🏼
Best beef rib imo is Louie Mueller’s in Taylor (30 mins outside Austin). You also need to hit Micklethwait’s on a future trip. It’s a trailer but my goodness from the brisket, to beef ribs, to homemade sausage, it’s all amazing. You have to get the jalapeño cheese grits (not too spicy). All of their stuff is homemade too, from their bread to their moon pies for dessert.
The person who open up Franklins honed his skill at Mueller, I believe.
Thanks for the tip. You are the 2nd person who has mentioned Micklethwait's
Traveling for the day is so awesome, you guys live an amazing life. The barbeque looked delicious 😋. Bill you look handsome in the cowboy hat 🙂.
Mahalo for sharing ! That is amazing ! The closes for us would be Arizona ! We have Dickey"s here in San Diego ! But we know Texas has DA BEST !
Antone's po-boys are true po-boys, they are basically bread, cheese, meat and condiments. It is not hefty like subway sandwiches. The po-boy was developed in New Orleans, when the trolley drivers went on strike. A sympathetic owner saw the starving drivers and said, "We need to feed those po' boys," and created this simple sandwich to hand out to them for free.
“It’s art, look it up.” You guys are so goofy 😂
If traveling for food is your thing, Houston is your city… and there are two airports to choose from (KIAH + KHOU)
Seasoning on corn, tator salad is paprika. Black’s banana pudding is jello instant pudding. Best pudding comes from Atlanta (Paschal’s, Mary’s Tea Room).
Texas BBQ is rich. People might balk at prices but you don’t eat it every day and it is the best in Texas! The beef rib is not over cooked you are looking at the bbq bark on the outside just deliciously soft on the inside.
Please go to Vegas SOON!! I miss your Vegas content, baby!
Bit & Bites screech on sound track, love u guys ,...time 4 an upgrade ..4k in the future?!
More of Texas -You guys rock 🤟🏼 loved this one
Nice. I want to try that spot. We have one here in Downtown Dallas. Heard nothing but good things. I've heard good things about Terry's and Hard 8 BBQ. Glad you had fun.
Thanks for showing you can still enjoy life
Poor boy is a cold cut sub sandwich . Where the other is Po boy as you know with shrimp & spicier etc! But now I want bbq! 🤪
Wow what a fun day trip!
Very nice
Oooo, that BBQ looks so good. Mouth watering!!!
The largest Buc-ees is between Austin and San Antonio on I-35. Maybe next trip!
That bbq we had was pretty legit. Ahh, knew that largest Buc-ee's was somewhere near!
WOW SUCH DELICIOUS LOOKING FOOD. LOOKS LIKE YOU HAD A FUN TRIP. THANKS FOR SHARING, KEEP UP THE AMAZING WORK. 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
I ❤ their fatty brisket. Totally worth the 2 1/2 flight IMO!
Thank you! That's what we're saying! lol
Chow chow is corn relish very popular in Amish country in PA where I lived for about 20 years :) Love your reviews!! Cindy 🙋♀️
Good to know!
That looks like THE perfect meal! I eagerly await your videos every week! Thanks for another great review and sharing a new eatery.
Welcome to my home. I live 2 blocks from Black's. I walk my dog down to the lake every morning at the crack of dawn and smell Black's pits smoking away every day. Wish I had seen you all. Glad you were fed well. Safe travels 🙏
Is Austin is LIBERAL as I hear from others ?? Seems like a cool city music food and culture
@@myerkord it's a fantastic city to call home. Always something going on. The music and food scene is top notch. Weather is beautiful like 350 days a year.. Tons of retro arcades, pinball, interesting shops. It's pretty much anything goes here. Live and let live. Keep Austin Weird is still very much a respected motto. It's just fun living here even though, like any city over a million people, it has it's expected issues
@@myerkord It's a fantastic city. Yes, it tends to be liberal. There are so many cool things about Austin, I would say the main drawback is the cost of living is quite high and trending upwards.
Curious...is Terry Blacks associated with Blacks in New Braunfels or are they different?
@@myerkord Yes, it's the Berkeley of Texas. Not what Texas truly is or ever has been. It's a dystopian armpit...an embarrassment.
Thanks for the recommendation for Peach muffins! I go to Buccee's a few times a year and just stopped last weekend - I never knew about the muffins. The peach muffin was delicious! Now I'm going to have to get a few every time I go :)
Nice!! Love them peach muffins!!
Cornbread and onion -- a glass of buttermilk
Hi Bill and Lisa- everything looked so good- I knew you were going to Buc -es- haha- have a great day!
GREAT 👍, next time jalapeno and cheese sausage yummy 😋, That brisket looks so good, I hate the Texas it's just a little cooler right now but everything's gonna be OKI know you'll enjoy it it'll be careful and have a good trip home You need you'll need to come to Houston Texas
Oh.my.drool. That BBQ looked amazing. I guessed Buc-ees!! Whoot!
Thank you for the birthday shout out and on my actual birthday! 🎂 Lisa I hope your having a great birthday 🥳
Happy Birthday, Lisa and Happy Birthday to my sister, Deanna Zavala!
Thank you for this video. I enjoy Terry Black's Barbeque. Have been there three times.
We need that in Hawaii!!!!😢
Welcome to Texas. I’m in Houston, but love Blacks🍀👍😻. I get the Turkey sandwich & pinto beans. Just don’t look for a slot machine around this state😌. We eat at the Luling Location. Hope your guys had a great time. 🎉🤠
Had a great time! Thank you, kissy kat!
Chow chow is an old school Texan thing...it normally goes on top of beans. It's pretty much a sweet/sour relish made from cabbage and onion. Good stuff.
Wish I would of ran into you guys to give y’all the real BBQ tour! Great choice though! 👍🏽
This BBQ looks incredible. Remind me to pack metal utensils when we visit!
I'm glad I have a drool bib on!!! Yummmmm enjoy!!!
What a wonderful lunch trip! Everything looked so terrific and it was fun to see you both so happy!
Very nice vlog. You guys are 😎
Everything looked so good, nice job Lisa and Bill.
When in Austin go to Myers.
Wow you two are travel goals 😍
You may want to try Hutchins BBQ .... it is the #1 rated BBQ in the Dallas area.
We haven't visited Dallas yet, thanks for the rec.
You’re killing me Bill and Lisa, that looked sooo good😛!
Doesn’t look like $90 worth of food
The 1 Beef rib alone was 38$.. They didn't address it in the video I'm not sure. I agree though it didn't look like 91$ of food
Week of groceries.
So jealous! This spot has been on the bucket list for a while!
Terry Black's not only met, but exceeded our expectations. We weren't joking when we said we'd fly back here just for the bbq! lol
Oh no... What would TSA say with the prime rib 😬🙂. I was eyeing the peace cobbler on the menu 😋. Enjoyed watching the fatty brisket 😋😋😋
Didn’t want to explain to TSA why I’m taking a beef rib on the plane, so we left it. 🤣
Bill I’d like to suggest a tour and food review of the Top of The World Restaurant in Las Vegas. I hear the food is good and the views are spectacular.
Chow chow a southern thing😋
There are multiple styles of Chow Chow which are prevalent - including Southern U.S., Northern U.S., and Canadian. Chow Chow is believed to be derived from the British Piccalilli, which itself is a version of South Asian Chutneys.
Wow you guys making me hungry. Everything looks so good👏🥂😋
pretty huge in there! My mouth is watering looking at all that meat being smoked
yummy
Great review, i usually visit Texas during the summer, I have relatives which live in the state. I might go on a road trip to Austin once I visit them. Great review.
i hope to one day find a sweet, fun, loving lady to squeeze bbq sauce on my brisket 😍
I'm in a food coma from watching this. that brisket🤗
If I ever get to the USA I will have to have that brisket . And the rids ...DROOWL
First heard of Terry Black’s from Mike Chen. You guys seemed to love it as much as he did. Definitely on my bucket list now!
If you ever make it to Phoenix stop at Little Miss BBQ 🔥
Been there a couple times, great bbq, have vlogs for both visits. We even name dropped them in this video. lol
Off the subject. If you get to Rhode Island between April and October you should go to The Nordic. Maybe the best buffet in the country. It's $125 but they whole Maine lobster and King Crab legs plus much much more. Also a Hagen-Dazs station
I heard about the Nordic yesterday and have binge watched videos about it since! Definitely one for Lisa and Bill.
@@aegontargaryen69 Watch the Shady Maple Smorgasbord in East Earl PA
Then you gotta try Moo’s Craft BBQ on Broadway in Los Angeles. No airline reservations required 😉
Yay my foodies😋🥰🤗
the bbq looked awsome thanks for sharing
Everything looks so good 😍
Mouth-watering! Thanks for sharing your visit to Austin! How about going to The Salt Lick? Always wanted to try their bbq especially their burnt ends. I think they have a site in Austin but I heard the original site is better in Driftwood...maybe next time?
Yeah
One beef rib $38....ouch
Dollar is no longer king 😄
Food looks delicious enjoy 💕
You messed up go to Fabens next to El Paso cattleman’s steak house number two or three in the United states
Great video guys. Keep it up.
That's, an Flintstone Rib🤣😅😂!
Oh yes, I'm going to Austin Texas🤩!
Wow just a few hours drive for me to Austin and I need some of that Que!
Yes that Bucces was a smaller store nevertheless always exciting to stop while on the road.
The Antones sandwiches are not the same quality as years ago. They tend to be dry
Very unique art
Totally Worth it!!!
Ooh that looks really good
Ok now I'm making the 3 hour drive for bbq.
