- Saturday 6th August 2022, saw the return of Exmoor Rail host by the Exmoor Coast Railway Modellers, at their new venue The West Somerset Community College, Minehead, Somerset.
This years line-up featured no less than 17 layouts in a variety of gauges and scales - including the second public outing for 'Fry's Somerdale', along with and excellent selection of Trade Stands and Societies.

What a terrific show, Callum. It shows that whilst all hiding at home avoiding Covid, many have put the time to good use. The only thing I was not to pleased to see was some of the track laying was a tad wobbly, but otherwise superb layouts. Hi Bob. Glad you enjoyed the show! Regarding the wobbly track, this was due to the heat inside the venue. The layout next to had show me his cassettes at the end of the day, and all were S shaped where they had expanded!

I live next to Union Pacific which is brute force railroading. British Rail is charming and your models seem magical, steam and diesel-electric. 🇬🇧🇺🇸👍

Bradford on tone. Superb track with the prototypical wriggle and dogleg, and the hydraulics look grand.
Glad you enjoyed it. Really is a stunning layout. The team were really having trouble with the heat in the room buckling rails and pinging joins, but they managed to keep trains moving for visitors!

Thanks Rob! Really is great to finally get back to shows after all this time. Wonder if it found a new home in the end? Certainly know what you mean there. I've only sold one two of my builds so far, but I know they've gone to good homes and still on public display too!
@@SDJR7F88 As a modeler myself I know it`s hard to let layouts and dioramas go even when built for some1 else, as like all of us we tend to put a little of ourselves into them you have a good eye for detail may it long continue.

What is that class with the word 2B25?
Its a British Rail Class 121 'Bubble Car' DMU
I quite liked Cheffley.
Really is an excellent layout
Certain materials just don't scale down. An example is the clay wagons pulled by the class 52 at the 2:28. The sewn cloth covers just look wrong. It would have been better to have moulded plastic covers to simulate the tarpaulin covers.
Best talking to Bachmann about those, as they are supplied with the models
