The algorithm recommended your channel and this video frustrated me. 1) your descriptions sound like marketing press releases so I don't trust them. 2) I want to hear the basses! I almost heard them in the background a few times but mostly heard the marketing dialog. Somehow I feel like I learned only one thing from watching this. That I should research hollow body basses in other places.
I have a Hag Viking Bass - love it. Just a heads up. Hagstrom - until about a year ago - was distributed by KMC Music. As of date, Hagstrom does not have a US distributor. I have been wanting to purchase the Hag hard case (the case itself looks gorgeous) for the Viking and they are impossible to find for a reasonable price in the lower 48. I would definitely recommend the Viking, just know if you want a case you may be waiting for a while. And trying to find a gig bag that fits it is near impossible due to it's 'wide hips.'
been looking for a hollowbody bass for a few months now, the fender starcaster would always have been my first pick, but it is quite expensive and hard to find, my top pick right now is probably the guild. Great and informative video, thanks!
as a jazz musician I am looking for exactly this kind of bass. (hollowbody) but I need a frettless. Is it a big deal to convert such a bass into a frettless?
Look at the aria FEB. Its a beautiful old looking thing as well. I change the pickups around depending on its needs but it really can dominate like an old upright bass. Cheap as well so i dont mind messing around changing things with it
I found a second hand Ibanez fretless, same model as in this vid. I play bossa nova and jazz and this bass guitar is awesome. By coincidence I found it on the internet
Try the Harley Benton short scale semi hollow. Great bass for about $250 usd. I had one but gave it away. I have a 67 EB-2c, and a Hofner Club. The Guild Starfire ii is a wonderful bass, it’s on my list.
Though they look like humbuckers, they indeed are single coils! Each of the screw heads only adjusts the height of the pole piece next to it - there is no magnet nor coil under them.
Visually, the Starfire I is wayyyy cooler than the Starfire II, I have absolutely no idea why would they not put the classic Guild harp in a bass which costs about 800$ more. As a Guild fan, the harp is a huge deal breaker. Also, not a fan of the II's proportions (giant pickups, giant body, tiny neck).
This is absolutely useless, you showed a EB2 style bass in the thumbnail which is nowhere to be seen in the video which is just a slideshow and some stock footage

What about the Jack Casady signature Epiphone bass?
Played one once, I’m more of a fender/aria guy, the body was too big for me 😭
What about it? Literally, what about it?
Probably not available with affiliate links 🥴
I dont like that smaller horn thing its got goin on
Good call
With the hofner bass you are supposed to remove the piece of foam under the bridge
I did not like my Ibanez AFB200. Tone was nice but floating bridge didn't adequately hold the strings and they could pop out while playing
totally agree ...really poor sound

So what was the Rivoli-esque bass in the thumbnail?
Looks like Gibson midtown
I heard a rumor that Epiphone is going to reissue the rivoli bass. Any1 have any info?
@@bobbystereo936 No idea, but I want it. They're one of the quintessential instruments of the British invention.
@@Shadow962775 True! I also find it strange McCartney had one laying around in the Get Back film but never used it.
1:50 no waaay I saw this video bc I just bought this one, I have it on my hands and it was so cheap! im so lucky!
I have a Epiphone Allen Woody Rumblekat Bass Wine Red electric bass. I've been playing bass for fifty years l, this bass is amazing.
I got a late 60s Kay 30" with a modded neck angle taller bridge and Gretsch filtertron bass pickups and halfrounds. Well good bass
I installed gretsch filtertrons in a harmony shortscale with good results

FOR THE LOVE OF GOD REMOVE THE PACKING FOAM FROM UNDER THE HOFNER BRIDGE
Is it possible to describe a guitar without using the word STUNNING?
I like my Kay 162VHS and my D'Angelico Excel bass . . .

6:57 - "single coil pickups"?! 🙄

Schecter Corsair, very well made, thunderbird pickups, EMG active tone circuit and long scale. A very nice playing Jazz like neck.
4:00 - that is in NO way a
Bisonic pick up!!

If you have played an Epiphone Jack Casady Bass, you don't JACK!

100% AI written. You could've at least edited the texts to do not repeat the same generalisms.
