Of looking forward to attending a concert in Jersey, Channel Islands. My daughter gave the tickets as a birthday present. Covid.... arrived instead. I have been a fan of Lesley for many years. Please do not forget Jersey, we rarely have singers of your calibre. ♥️
This is one of my very favorite songs to sing and to listen to. I sang this with the Cathedral Choral Society of Washington, D.C.under Dr. J. Reilly Lewis - in the Washington Cathedral at a United Nations Day concert in October, 1993. Great setting! 220 voices in that venue! Very uplifting! And Lesley Garrett is a fantastic diva. Opera, oratorio, concert, you name it. What a way to start the day!
I am so proud to be born in this Great country. Al Murray: Britain's famous " Historian " quoted that "born in England: is like WINNING the LOTTERY of LIFE ...
I love this song. I saw this singer on a TV show. She mentioned that lots of people tell her that singers in musical theatre are not as revered as opera singers. Apparently they are not proper singers. I thought that was a sad comment to make.
More English than British - the other parts have good tunes of their own (At least two for Wales). C'est plus d'Anglleterre que Bretagne: les autres pays ont des melodes bons (deux ou plus pour pays de Galles).
a very pure soprano voice She is well known in Italy. We know that sho lost her voice at some time due to a disease but out of determination she regained in full. A real soprano, never a "prima Donna"

I never tire of this anthem esp when sung by Lesley Garrett.
Those drums are amazing!
I have one of Ms Garrett's albums, and it has given me joy when I listen to it. A beautiful voice, God Bless her.
Really GREAT interpretation of that song.....,
She has been better

@ 02.26 - That countenance divine....!
Bruce Dickinson did a cover of this song. Great to hear this and that version of it.
Como vuela el tiempo :')
Estoy buscando, The Innocent Sleep, de Lesley Garrett, si alguien me puede ayudar con eso, se lo agradeceré mucho. .
great
yeh i like this. x
+blacklegend89 this song reminds me of Vulcan XH558 because she's at retirement
Such a rare bird
I had a dream where all the great woman singers of the world were crowding into my room. And you didn't.
Great lungs....
However, its unlikely that she'd accept your gift as magnificent as you might believe it is.
There has been no-one like her since Jeanette MacDonald.
@ 00.50 - DING-DONG!
This song makes me so sad!
She should be created a Dame of the British Empire!
My mum trained as a soprano with her at the RAM, and apparently she was pretty rubbish back then.
+ James Small She is rubbish!!
@@westernshipway3115 If Lesley was rubbish at singing it all went tits up for her!
No wonder no one watches TV any more theirs just no class on it now.
Useless
