Gotta admit this was the first celebrity death that really touched me. Spent this last weekend, similar to you it sounds, diving into works of his. Listened to a couple soundtracks, interviews, watched one of his movies, watched some of his UA-cam channel. Mulholland Dr was my intro into his work. Really loved that film & needed to see more after. At this point, barring a few short films, and The Straight Story, I've seen all of his movies and shows.
The Elephant man is my favourite Lynch film and I have fond memories of collecting the Panini stickers for the Film Dune when at middle school. I was enthralled by Twin Peaks..... And confused. Ageing myself here Lynch had a strong presence in my formative years. I'm going to go watch the straight story.
