Rajkumar rao could've gone into detail about him being outsider and elaborate more on people taking advantage because of their privilege. But he made a point and karan acting clueless is one of the best performance from him. Karan still makes headlines for being a victim on social media.
If he directed a more believable and relatable movies and not his usual fairytales perhaps he'll earn some respect. Box office numbers are appealing for him because nonsense like Rocky Rani was liked by the masses. Rajkumar knows how to put these entitled nepotism kids in their place yet he was subtle.
It's a masterstroke using Rajkummar Rao to further a movie that gives Janhvi the meatier role. Now if she acts even a little bit better people would say she held her own beside a powerful actor like Rajkummar and thats how perceptions are built.

@dheeraj009.1 it is a myth that only Dharma production movies are better than others. If you look at the quality of movies they make, you will find other production houses are doing much better movies like Maddock films, imitaz ali or sanjay Leila bansali, vidhu vinod and raj kumar hirani etc

Jahnvi is not a bad actor but she is also not a great actor. The fact that she gets to work with Dharma multiple times despite being an average actor defines nepotism. An outsider with the same caliber as her would just not get these chances. Now because we all are capable of learning and growing, with enough opportunities she will get better in her craft too. Nothing against that. She was born in a film family and that gives her an advantage. No need to resent her for it but good to acknowledge that it comes with privilege

Karan Johar plays the victim card way way too much and keeps defending or setting narrative or gaining sympathy around his people. When was the last time Janhvi gave a really good performance, even after having the genetic factor. It’s the same type of dull, forced acting. If creative people just focus on their craft and how to improve it rather than all these perception building games, Indian cinema can reach more heights. It’s high time, Indian cinema makes good movies, look at Malayalam cinema with limited budget atleast they are trying to create cinema. No I’m sorry we’ve all had a lot of time to think about this and observe but it’s not the same. The outsider has to do how many amazing side characters to get to a lead role? Meanwhile Janhvi, Sara and Ananya are getting opportunity after opportunity to improve and learn the job and they just have to show progress, while outsiders are done and gone if they don’t stand out in the tiniest roles. The only exception is if someone big launches an outsider which is rare and they don’t get waste opportunities the same way

1) Which I presume will amount to a combined largest amount invested by one production house in the India Film Industry on new comer directors, who by the way is always the captain of ship.
2) Which will also amount to highest number of technicians & other staff which I'm sure will go into thousands getting livelyhood . So if you want to count the 15 or 20 star kids who got introduced through Karan, count his above contributions. So please chill sweetheart. He has done much more then many put together can imagine to do in a lifetime. Sorry Bhavika don't mean to offend you, just sharing my opinion.
