- Over the weekend, RaceTV went OFF-ROAD at the Leadville Trail 100 MTB race in Colorado with Lachlan Morton. Leadville is high altitude, no-nonsense racing. Go hard, and try to hold on. This year, Lachlan came in ready after weeks of training in Leadville and a bike set up that had been dialed over weeks, even months, of testing. But Leadville had other plans.

I did the Leadville 100 in double the amount of time you guys finish. Your ability is simply impossible to comprehend. To lesser mortals like me, you do have the flying superpower. Hats off to you, Lachy. You're an inspiration no matter how you place. I'm gutted I couldn't attend your Rapha ride here in NYC, but hopefully, there'll be another one in the future.
Can't help but love the way these short documentaries are filmed. And Lachlan starring it makes them perfect.

This dude is a monster!! Every since the alternate calendar started back in 2019 or so , Lachlan and Alex's down to earth humor and interviews are so much more refreshing to her than the typical " for sure" answers.
Lachy, no matter what, you will always be an inspiration to me. Can’t express how much you motivate me and have gotten me off my ass to keep training when all I want to do is be a couch potato.

Just wanted to say…massive fan of these. And it’s because of these “alternate calendar” events that I got into watching the world tour stuff. Loved watching Neilson this year at the tour. Keep it up EF! I’m a big fan.
What a hero....rides in nearly every Leadville 100 races into the top 3, blasts an (unofficial) FKT on the Colorado Trail, is a humble, down to earth and funny as hell person and loves to listen to Fred again...while riding.
Lachlan is one shining gem in pro cycling. that bike looks sick and nuts. my back would probably break riding that thing.

Was up in Leadville climbing almost a month before Leadville and saw Lachlan coming in from a training ride. How long was Lachlan up in Leadville with his family training before the race? That is pure love of the outdoors, sport and a dedication to winning.

I got stationed in CO Springs after 3 years in the Army, so I was in shape and pretty fit. My first day there I tried to run up three flights of stairs to get something out of my room and thought I was going to die. I can't imagine the feeling of that much exertion at 10k+ feet. My lungs and heart hurt thinking about it lol

Good on him for thowing himself at such a huge race with such stiff competition. I do like watching Lochlann win, but I more like watching his sportsmanship and focus and love for riding.

He raced for Vaughters at 18, for the Felt-Holowesko U23 squad. He won l'Abitibi that year and had a top ten in GC at Tour of Utah.
i think if lachlan didnt ride 100000000000000 miles a year and didnt get every time a flat tyre he won this race but of course the myth the legend the man who get me in cycling LACHLAN MORTOOOOOOOOOON
EF Pro Cycling please convince this great talent to dress his wheels with tires that can finish the job without failing. Leadville flat, Breck Epic flat. Keegan doesn't flat, maybe he's onto something with his well known tire choice.Thanks for the great interview and your great stable of riders.

Quick answer to the opening question: no. To my understanding the hardest bike race is the Tour Divide, which is about 2800 miles with about 200,000 feet of climbing.

This is my first ep of race tv. Reminds me of fuel tv from 20 years ago. I like the ef gone racing format way better. Couldn't get through much more than a few minutes of this. It all feels disjointed, like all these random clips were cut up and slapped together. Stop asking about his favorite colors and food and focus on the race, that's what I thought this was about? Idk.
Would the extra weight of thicker sidewalls have been worth it? 🤔

Lachlan is a star. He and Keegan are inspirations to budding cyclists, by all means give the UCI game your best but it doesn't define you. Keegan could so easily ride world tour, he could be the new Sepp Kuss, a high altitude alpine steam train but I kind of like that he doesn't want to play the world tour team game, successful on his own terms. Lachlan has 100% shown him the way.

Well... first he doesn't race road bike. It's a different sport. Second... he probably has more fun winning races in the US than being a deluxe (or second class) domestique all over the world for people he doesn't even know.
Take a look at Cape Epic results. This is where the best endurance mountain bike racers of the world start. He was not even in the top 10 together with Lachlan. He is an incredible racer, but as soon as he goes one level higher there are better ones
@@davidzimmer1773You are way off here. The Epic results were not due to Keegan’s lack of ability but to Lachlan’s inability to keep up. Blevins won and he could not keep up with Keegan in any endurance races this year. Watch the event and even the EF videos and you will hear LM admit he held Keegan up all week
He did the 2022 World Championship Road race, finished in 73.
