Dave is the "combo front" setting really only used if you're using one of the POD preamps? I've found that when just using the HD500 for effects only, setting it up for studio direct typically sounds the same as if I was plugging directly into the amp. Can you give us some pointers on that? Thanks.
Hi guys, wanna ask you something: I have a Pod HD 500 connected to a Samson Servo 200 power amp and a 2x12 cabibnet. The thing is, when I play it with the Pod cab sim's on sounds quite good but when I deactivate it, it sounds awful with so much fizz and noise. What can I do to achieving a better sound? I've tried with all the output types and still sounding bad.
Is it possible to use both the unbalanced and bakanced output simultaneously? My idea is to use a combo amp as a guitar monitor while connected to the house pa via the balanced output
does this work with the POD HD PRO? I just bought myself one and Im trying to connect it to my line 6 bodnger MK1. I know the head is discontinued but is it still possible to do the same and bypass the preamp on the head?
If you connect only the Left XLR output to the mixer, is that mono or only the left side of the stereo signal? Ideally, I would like to connect only one XLR cable to the mixer and avoid using the L/mono 1/4" output into a DI.
when connected using balanced output to mixer : if the balanced output remains at mic level, then why change the output to studio/direct? unless the studio/direct enables balanced output.
is there a way to use this device to record on pc? i have an external soundcard, can I hook this up to that soundcard or can I bypass my soundcard and use this as a soundcard?
Hi everyone, Anyone who might help me with my Line 6 Pod Hd500? I plugged the amp to to socket and the panel shows nothing but a blank display. Apart from that the metal buttons display red lights. I tried to follow someone's tip on UA-cam and I reckon it went to factory settings so I'm not sure if I lost the original settings. Any chance to help me out please? Many thanks
FUCKKKKK , I just got the 500HD , had the 300HD , just spent 3 days ( about 8 hours twiddling nobs ) I didn't realize there was the output settings for combo and stacked amps ( it was obvious on the 300HD ) .I thought I had it all figured out . Oh well , thanks Dave
Best video that i've seen yet for simple out of the box setup. Thank you.
Excellent video thanks man!
I agree w all the comments about killing the background music. It's like Metal Muzak and it's really annoying.

What if you've got a bean (HD studio)? They have different outputs, slightly. No balanced output. So you need a DI box, right?

I guess the light have not been invented in 2011, am I right?
I have the HD500x is it same concept?I don’t use an amp. I have a EV PA I think I have it set up correctly. What is the difference?
Using the four cable method what output setting would you use

So can I connect to power amp and use the direct out also?

If I'm only using the USB into Garageband, how should I set the output switches? Just leave them alone?
Anyone know how I would connect a Magnum 44 power amp to a HD500?
"Stack power amp" output
Why are all your valuable tutorials accopanied with too loud music?
Things are quite complicated and the music is more than disturbing!!!!!
zat you Bill Hicks?
The first thing I did was plug it into my PC, failed already.
PLEEEASE -- no background noise! Kills the video's usefulness. if I wanted a lame metal track, I would have searched for "lame metal track".
next time dont put a noise music in backround... thanks

שלום!

I needed more info in inputs. The video says "connections" not, "a few connections". Dammit.
The usb on the Pod HD's are an absolute piece of crap.
Agree - background music is AWFUL, and really distracting. Please!
Was that annoying and distracting cheesy metal music in the background really crucial to this video?
The background music is too loud n irritating
The background music is annoying.
Not able to understand.
Sorry, but I also agree -- the music is sh!t and distracts from the video.
Music in back ground sucks
That was the crappiest set up video ever.. what were these people thinking?
