"Yelling Compton but you moved to Riverside" killed their cred immediately.
Most definitely. 💯
What's even more funny is they ended up in Calabasas. Dre AND Eazy were practically neighbors.
Damn, I live in Riverside!! ... This was my Era
I always thought that was stupid back then. Everyone wanted to get out of the hood, but when anyone did, they got shit for it.
Nathan Coffey it’s like this today aswell HELLA dumb. Lol
The most impressive thing about this is that according to his son, he did this in one take.
captain kirk you could tell too
Yep because he just said the truth and those things he wanted to say but wouldn't cos they were all friends until they dissed him then it was like gloves off bitches 1😄🤣
He was maddd 😂🤣 one of the best diss tracks in history.
No need to rehearse life. Just play the truck.
Yeah they said this got written recorded in about an hour and a half. That's insane because this is still a top tier diss track decades later
I was living in Compton when this dropped. No beef started... It ENDED with 'No Vaseline'. Game over. Nobody wanted to hear NWA'S response. TKO
PLO style
Only on wax
They didnt even have a reaponse. Mc ren did a diss 1st. Cube just waited til they all got they shots in and then ripped them a new 1......
@@awol_n_dallas4402 one by one!!
You from compton?
He only dissed yella once because they got no beef and they were chill
It was a pretty small diss as well
Eazy, Ren and jerry got it hard
In the movie yella took it the best they were prolly chill cuz he was rlly a backup and he helped with lyrics
I really felt the lines when he was talking about Ren. He wasn't just dissing him, he had pity for him despite his anger. It also felt like Ren had betrayed and hurt Cube pretty bad. Lots of mixed emotions on the Ren verses while still offering up a relentless lyrical beat down.
@@rhexiled with "no vaseline" hehe
This is by far one of the best diss tracks ever. NWA themselves even said Ice Cube totally beat them.
Never diss the guy who writes your music.
Ice Cube did not write all the song lyrics. N.W.A original line up when it began was Eazy-E, Dr. Dre (World Class Wrecking Crew), Ice Cube (Cru In Action) and Arabian Prince. Nobody but Cube was a writer. Eazy-E was not a rapper, Arabian Prine and Dre was producers. the original versions of Boyz in the hood, 8 Ball and Dopeman was written by Cube during N.W.A (& the posse) period. Cube was in college for a couple of semesters in AZ. MC Ren became a member during that time and wrote most songs for Eazy's Debut Album including its title song Eazy-Duz-It. DJ Yella (World Class Wreckin Crew) was brought in to co-produce, dj and play live drums and The D.O.C. (Fila Fresh Crew) from Dallas, TX was brought in to ghost write and to be a solo artist of course. At that point Ren, Cube and D.O.C. handled all writing duties. Ren and Cube was the only members who wrote all of their own lyrics. MC Ren wrote his own and Eazy's verse on Fuck Tha Police and Ren wrote Eazy's verse on Gangsta Gangsta. Also when you go over the entire N.W.A/Eazy-E discography......MC Ren and The D.O.C. has actually written more N.W.A material than Ice Cube. Not discrediting him for his contributions because obviously he was an important part of the group. He was the voice that gave them the political edge. But they still successfully sold millions of records without Cube. 100 Miles And Runnin' rendered platinum plus sales and NIGGAZ4LIFE saw double platinum sales. The demise of that group was ultimately behind the unequal distribution of money and royalties to the writers (MC Ren/ Ice Cube/ The D.O.C.), producers (Dr. Dre & Yella) vs. Eazy-E (Executive Producer/ Record label owner/ publishing owner/ group member/ solo artist) & Jerry Heller the manager. One little known fact is the fact that Ice Cube originally wanted to remain on Ruthless despite the money issues if Eazy would have allowed Cube to do a solo project while with Ruthless. The contract dispute was true after the tour ended but he ultimately left because his solo project was shelved in favor of other artists such as Above The Law and D.O.C.'s plus Jerry Heller was pushing Eazy to get the next N.W.A project before an Ice Cube solo project. Plus.....both N.W.A and Ice Cube albums was distributed by Priority Records. They was all aware of the diss tracks prior to the release of those albums y'all. That pushed sales because controversy sells. Read between the lines and stop believing the hype!
Kenny Mac ice cube wrote their top hits my guy... of course he didn’t write all of them but he wrote most of their top 10 songs and a some of the other. Yells and ren did some of the other writing too
@@quion2x509 false
@@quion2x509 Fuck Tha Police had 3 verses....Ren wrote his and Eazy-E verse....So who was the primary song writer? Plus 8 Ball & Dopeman remixes was from the original N.W.A album when it waa just Eazy/Dre/Cube/Arabian Prince version. which is the difference in writing credits between Ren & Cube for the Straight Outta Compton album. And it is a fact that Ren wrote the majority of Eazy-E's debut album. Get your facts str8 before you speak on shit you don't really know about
Kenny Mac Regardless, this is still one of the best disses ever. And NWA waved the white flag.
EVERYBODY left Cube alone after this record
Why ? He’s alr left nwa after record this
Naaaaah not everybody because Common melted Cube to a puddle.
Gino Morra nah ice cube killa was cool but king of the hill was better common was the only one that beat cube cuz the bitch in you was to ill
صح عليك يا ليث انت 💪🏽
Gino Morra both records were good. king of the Hill still a vicious diss track. Ice Cube Killa is a specially wicked track considering they had managed to “get” intel on the diss track so they managed a comeback with a crazy twist.
1st verse - Whole Group
Slight jab at Yella...he really an innocent bystander
Slight jab at Dre...Dre dissed Cube first on "Alwayz into something" But Cube knows Dre really ain't a rapper like that (Ren prolly wrote it)
2nd Verse - Ren, Cube goes right at the best rapper/writer in the group (He wants all the smoke)
3rd Verse- Eazy, Cube ends it by taking off the head of the snake and the person he believes is really in bed with the enemy.
He dismantles their whole persona as "The World's Most Dangerous Group" by suggesting that they are being duped, controlled, manipulated and constantly compromised by a white man.
He killed the whole group and the manager.
This is the most calculated diss in history. This shows you why Cube is a lyrical genius
Yup but Dre also dissed him in 100 miles and running ( started with five and, yo,one couldnt take it, so now there's 4 cause the fifth couldnt make it) and they all dissed him in the Real Niggas track in the last album of NWA
root beer still not better
@@don757 i know aahahha cube wooped their ass
This wasn't calculated, this was just pure anger. It's said that this was a one take track and it shows on the end part. He almost got nothing but he still mad
@@matthewgarcia7376 One take means he rapped it with no flaws on the first try in the studio, not that he freestyled it. Everyone know Cube is one of the best writers/storytellers and he is definitely calculated. He damn near invented “ Concept” albums.
Cube got so many references in this jam. Using NWA's lyrics against them, calling each one out for their weaknesses, etc. This was a lyrical masterpiece.
Absolutely lyrically ice cube is fucking amazing
Most of NWAs lyrics were His so he knows what to do with them.
Ice cube is a genius
Couldn’t agree more. The amount of references he makes in one song is INSANE. An absolute lyrical masterpiece.
To me this is the best disstrack ever made. Ice Cube went for their souls man! Straight up killed them NWA guys.
They said "he got us"
This was the first of real diss tracks, there is none prior to this.
Agreed this was the first diss track I loved and remember
Ice cube was the heart of NWA without him it’s not the same.
Honestly!
"even when I get married I aint sharing my bank account with my wife... That's tuff!" 😂😂😂💀💀
I know I'm not!!
Go red wings
Ur likes stuck at 301
Said every single dude before he was married lol
Said every single dude before he was married lol
Word of advice: Never diss the guy who writes the lyrics
They say that Ice Cube did this one in one take. Also, did you notice he went harder at MC Ren and Easy E that he did with Dr. Dre and Yella.
Because Eazy fucked him over the most and Ren did most of the dissing on there track. He didnt go after Yella because he didnt diss him at all and Dre said a line in 'Always into somethin' dissing Cube (which Ren prob wrote)
@Slumped. _.a which was mostly written by Ren
@@ferdiahunt9899 Dre is the one that says the line of Benedict Arnold on Real Niggaz.
Cube referenced Yella once, calling him "Yella Boy" which was an older name Yella went by but didn't like being called that. Even the one who got the least was still stabbed by Cube's lyrical 🗡️
He barely dissed yella imo. He went ham on eazy and ren for sure.
"Tried to dis Ice Cube, it wasn't worth it
'Cause the broomstick fit your ass so perfect"
Damn!! 🔥🔥🔥
Origin of that is I think it's Ren on 100 Miles and Runnin said "When we see your ass we're gonna cut your hair off and F you with a broomstick!"
I honestly think the line is, "fit your asshole perfect"
With a match and a little bitta gasoline 🔥 🔥 🔥
Ren seemed to talk about broomsticks a lot back then ("She Swallowed It").
Asshole** ur such a dumbass
"I am never buying vaseline after this" -shaq 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Lol
His intro was all the chatter he was hearing when all the drama first jumped off. He was silent at first about the matter but they poked the bear and it was lights out.
Exactly
Just imagine if Twitter, the Gram, and social Media was around when this dropped ...
The numbers would have been legendary
No Vaseline us arguably the Hardest Diss Track Evermade
The hardest after Ether(nas) and Against all odds(2pac).
People would've tried to cancel him
@@jaydablake8459 was about to say this.
@@BackFortyTV especially at the Jew part
Ice Cube: No Vaseline
2pac: Hit 'em Up
Nas: Ether

2.HEU
3.ER

Dont forget charged up by drake
yeah in my opinion no vaseline was the greatest diss ever made
Ryan Brown sorry there are other diss tracks better than pac’s hell common sense dissing cube is better than that and it made Cube retire
1 No Vaseline
2 Real Mothafucken Gs
3 Hit Em Up
That's my opinion

I'm dead 😂
Haha
I remember seeing Straight Outta Compton in theaters. I'm white as wonderbread, but I already knew about No Vaseline, and it was amazing to see all the young people's reactions to it that never heard it before. Everybody's jaws hit the floor, there were screams, they were clapping, laughing... One of the best rap songs they'd ever heard. Everyone walked out of there an Ice Cube fan for life. Music unites us, man. It was great.
Do u mean the movie?
That scene is very good but the movie has so many things in it that arent true to the point that new fans prob came out of it thinking Cube wrote absoloutly everything they ever did when it was actually Ren that wrote more songs then Cube
@@ferdiahunt9899 I feel like the writing rivalry between Ren and Ice Cube was why Ice went in so hard on Ren in No Vaseline, in comparison to Yella and Dre who only got a couple lines. That and Ren directly wrote the lines about Ice Cube being Benedict Arnold, so it was a tit-for-tat sort of reaction.
I do agree the film takes liberties because of who was in charge of making it (Dre for instance, was far from the model husband and father he was made out to be). However, for capturing the energy of the time and what NWA was fighting for, I'd still call it a pretty powerful film, with some masterful acting by the young actors playing the guys.
@@emyf9197 Yes, sorry. I corrected it.
@@picklesthewise the actors were brilliant especially the guy playing Eazy E he looked nearly identical too him and sounded just like him. Your prob right about that being why Cube went for Ren so hard and also because Ren fid most of the dissing on NWAs diss. Another liberty i noticed was they completely wiped Arabian Prince who was there 6th member from the film he has a track on Straight outta compton and did some of the production on the album too with Dre and Yella and he said he thinks he was ommitted because after Eazy died and Tomica took over Ruthless she stopped paying him royalties for Straight outta compton and he had too sue too get his money back and she was a producer on the movie but all the early scenes in the movie, recording straight outta compton, the tour, the detroit gig etc he was there but not there in the movie. He was also the first one too leave because of Jerry Heller a role given too Ice Cube in the movie instead. V shitty on Tomicas part for doing what she did
I still know all the lyrics...I used to get in trouble for listening to Cube and Pac. 💯🤷🏾♀️

Do you like it with Vaseline?
Cube still got it if he wants to come bk....but he a family man a grown man
He's working on making the New Friday Movie that has yes "Chris Tucker" in the cast! It's going to be great! I cannot wait to see it. I will consider this Friday 2. You know it will be hilarious! Cube is in the movies now he'll put out an album every chance he gets but he is more into trying to get paid through movies now which I don't blame him at all!!!! Make it as fast as you can legally and get out and relax with you family, retire, travel around the world!
Just saw him live last week in San Jose has a new album and the performance was dope, he’s still got it
He already did with his 2018 album "Everythangs Corrupt". It's really good and the best songs imo are "Arrest the President", "That New Funkadelic", "Good Cop Bad Cop" (initially released in '91), "Ain't Got No Haters" and "Chase Down the Bully".
No Vaseline and Hit Em Up are legendary.
The fact he took on NWA himself is what it the hardest disstrack & he stuck to the facts about each member.
Cube and PAC spit some serious lyrics. They seen things most people didn’t. Opened everyone’s eyes to the real world.
best disstrack ever.. kill the record, kill the company, kill the group.. ice cube is goat.
Rocking 46 here and I lived through this.
Still have my cassettes.
✌🏽
He dissed them so tuff, they turned around and dissed Eazy, lol
Dr Dre dissed eazy e and jerry heller on Dre day
ice cube is just a sick rapper. his tone alone sends chills down my spine. it honestly boggles my mind when people choose to overlook ice cube saying he is nothing but a movie maker when in reality this dude just hustles to be where he is at. i may not always agree with his political views, but he is a great motivator about getting out of the shithole we are at in life and improve our overall thinking and encourages us to do better in life. i have nothing but respect for him.
This track has got to be the best diss track I've ever heard. At the same time tough I cannot make it through the track without cracking up laughing.
After Hit them up by great Pac
@@edsonmasamba9631 Yeah that is a diss track with class, the bassline on Hit em up tho. Pac had charisma by the bucket load
I can’t give 2pac the best nod because he had others on the trac......this one with no Vaseline and Nas with Ether are a straight up tie......
Pac said "I dont even know why im on this track, yall niggaz aint even on my level, ima let my lil homies ride on you bitch made-ass bad boy bitches" which made having features a diss all in itself. Hit em up is the #1 diss track of all time. No Vaseline is 2nd. You cant make Either top 3 cuz the majority will say it wasnt better than the Takeover. If you cant even top your rival track you cant top the diss track charts. No. 3 you gotta go with The Bridge is Over-BDP. 5 and 4 Either and Takeover.
Amante Apasionado i can agree with most of what you said bro but i have to give ether the spot above takeover... Jay is a legend dont get me wrong but Nas more lyrical and he showed that on ether and spit all facts. When he said "Eminem murdered you on your own shit" he was speaking facts 💯% on renegade Ems second verse was better than every single thing Jay said. And about Jay saying Big was his man and then said hes better than big.. He went at Jays throat and heart with that one... Just my opinion though
@@amanteapasionado6836 jay z even admitted nas won with ether. And there is a video of him crying after listening to it
Self Reliance Kiss is one of my top ten but still he cannot touch either of these two ......ether was so special because this was the top two going at it.....but Jay thought he was nicer and came looking for Nas.....the response was so complete, straight up uppercut ko , and purely facts that Jay was never the same. What Nas was revealing was some deep personal shit that sent Jay to therapy for some yrs......lol
Cube on his part bodied a whole group with such facts that NWA was done.
Tupacs Against all odds is a deeper diss track
Greatest diss track ever it was just raw and straight to the point. Because it's true and he meant it. Also never diss the person who wrote your lyrics.
As much as I love Eazy and NWA, this diss track was lethal!!!
Has to be my fav of all time
I would’ve loved to have been alive during the NWA’s prime, the split with Ice Cube and the dropping of this track originally.
I can only fathom the impact that this had.
I remember when this first dropped. I was in high school and had to sneak and buy this. Lol
I remember when this came out and ice cube went hard on this , the only other artist with this much cred is Ice T.
At the time It felt like he killed and embarrassed gangster superheroes and everyone knew what he said was the truth, it was game over
Facts I wish I was around too
He single handedly kilt gangsta rap AND N.W.A wit this track....it was a silence heard across the globe 🙈🙉🙊😜

This was before the internet, so artists went hard on the diss tracks, they didn't even play most of these on the radio, this was all straight up street knowledge. We used to buy these on cassette tape at the swap meets, or mix tapes off somebody's trunk. The beefs would just build off of word of mouth on the streets.
reak shit you just had to hear about it and it made it WAYYY more intense
Best diss track ever,Ice Cube went hard on this
Cube gave no phucks.. just a match a little bit of gasoline.
0:27 You can never be too young for real music like this. I’m 15 now and I have fond memories of when I was around 4 years old and my Dad would always play 2pac, Ice Cube, N.W.A and Bob Marley CD’s in our car. Those memories will stay forever.

Greatest diss track ever. Cube took down everyone and did it by himself. Tupac had a good diss track but he didn’t do it by himself.
Cube and Common’s beef was dope. Common’s ”Bitch in Yooo” caught me by surprise and had some hilarious bars.
