Kanami the tsunami, Misa the barefoot assasin, Akane the Gorilla and the human pokemaon Miku. Just another Rock n Roll beating from the best.
You are correct about the sponsorships. They are as follows: Kanami (lead guitarist) - PRS guitar with Mesa amps; Miku (rhythm guitarist) - Zemaitis guitar with EVH amps; Misa (bassist) - Black Cloud bass guitar with Orange amps); Akane (drummer) - Tama drum kit with Ziadjian cymbals).
Saiki had surgery in 2017 to remove polyps from her vocal chords. The instrumentals act as "preventative maintenance break" during concerts to preserve the beauty of her voice. Some bands use instrumentals as "fillers" -- Band Maid doesn't do "fillers"...every song gets their full attention.
God, I love Kanami showing off her classical music chops. This composition of hers is (again) staggering and so emotional, being performed by one of the best "string and percussion" orchestras on our planet before we discuss genres.
Regarding attire - these grown-ass women have demonstrated for close to a decade that they should not be judged by their clothing. It was a principle laid down by their founder (a Pidgeon of the biblical age) that we should not focus on that.
Actually, they opened their recent concerts with this song. I think this is my favorite Band Maid MV. The lead guitar takes the lyrical role and she does a great job with it. The energy level is awesome and it gives Kanami an opportunity to let loose. I think it really highlights how Kanami and Akane play together. Akane's drums adds punch to all of Kanami's most dramatic lines.
During their US Tour, for Aftershock, they opened with this song. The rest of their 13 shows, they opened with Sense. From Now On was used in 12 of their 13 shows, during Saiki's "break".

Many of us just recently saw Band-Maid play “From Now On” live. OMNG! Kanami riffed her ass off. And the BPM’s matched the DB's! 😶🌫Thx, Justin & Camilla!
They have four Official Instrumentals counting this one. Their original instrumental "Onset" was just that, they played it for live shows, it wasn't originally on any EP's or MV's. But a quality live recording became available of "Onset" and became so popular on UA-cam... they decided to change their minds and start creating MV's for their instrumentals.
They used pieces of this track in the marketing for their US tour and I was immediately hooked. I've been a Band-Maid fan for a while and I wanted to go anyway, but the enticing little snippets of this track made me pull the trigger on buying tickets.
Master piece...Guitar´s World put this song into essentials of december...next to Metallica, RHCHP and others amazings bands...
From what I can see Misa is wearing a Hakama, or Japanese skirt with trousers. You can see practitioners of Kendo and Aikido wear Hakamas. For the US tour, all of the Maids had subtle upgrades to their fighting gear, such as Misa and Kanami's headgear is now black, Po!.
Funny enough about the maid outfits. The order of when each member joined miku, kanami, akane, misa, and finally Saiki pretty much coincides with which members were to most open to the maid costumes lol

This song ROCKS! Great reaction. I love that they will just show the raw stipped down basic equipment. They have several instrumentals and they are fun but I do miss Saiki...

Only a few artists manage to create their own genre, e.g. Jackie Chan ("Jackie Chan Movie")...and now these amazing women did it too. "Band-Maid" isn't just the name of the band, it's also the name of their genre...a genre-name like "Maid-Metal" would not begin to describe it.

When I saw the Maids, a few months ago, they played this, Onset (their older instrumental piece) and a song where Miku sings, all in a row. So, yeah - water break for Saiki, indeed! 🤘😎👍
It’s an instrumental. They have several.
These are the new outfits. Misa's pants are a departure. He "maid" outfit was always a bit more of a stretch than the rest, and now she just matches them. Saiki generally has a maid outfit, just no apron. I always felt it gave her more of a head maid vibe. For obvious reasons, Akane gets shorts on the drums. It used to be shorts under a skirt, but I feel like that's just too much as they get the same basic look without the skirt.
As far as I know only Miku and MISA have signature instruments. Miku has the Zemaitis Flappy Pigeon. They've sold quite a few and Trogly did a video on it. MISA has her Black Cloud basses, the Precision SG and the J Bass, neither of which have ever been released, and just a plain bog standard Black Smoker. I have no idea why they haven't released her Custom basses, except there might be lawsuits from Gibson and Fender.

Its a mistake to say Saiki and Misa are not wearing Maid outfits. They are unique definitely, but not European inspired. Saiki's is styled after those in old Spanish courts and paintings and Misa chose a stylized Chinese "maid" influenced look.
Thanks again from Japan 有難う💛。 I witnessed this song performed flawlessly in B-M's pre-US concert in Tokyo and dropped my jaw 😲. (I believe so did American audience at 12 venues) This song has been normally played in the middle of the setlist to give Saiki some break. Most of the audience at B-M's one-man (or one-person) concerts had, of course, already known their skills and talents. They played this song, however, as opening at two festivals (Summer Sonic, Japan and Aftershock, USA) and in Guns N' Roses concert in Japan as support to the legendary band. Yeah! they showed off their skills and talents to the audience who knew nothing about the girls in maid outfit on the stage were. I felt as if I heard them screaming "Hey guys! Listen to us and open your eyes wide! We are not the persons that you think ! Salute us!" 😄

Miku's cat's name is Tora. In Japanese this word meaning`s “Tiger” or "lighting attack".

MISA and Saiki DID sign up for the maid thing....but it didn't last all that long and Miku folded.....they are just "too cool" for that.
That particular PRS of Kanami is actually Purple, it's crazy how much the colour changes under different lighting

Oh, and Kanami (the lead guitarist) is also the chief composer and arranger, does most of the keyboard (and some other) backing tracks, is their most gifted member when it comes to computer use (in the context of their music), is active in much of the post-production work, does occasional backing vocals and has a university degree. (All of this, in addition to teaching Miku how to play guitar [Miku had no idea how to play guitar when the band started]). Other than those things -- and displaying a great deal of cuteness, charm, intelligence and class -- she has no talent.
It's called an "instrumental"....
This song is amazing. But I think to get to know a band, an instrumental song is the wrong song.
The vocals are very important and make up 30-40% of a good song.
To everyone who doesn't know this band: It doesn't matter which song you choose.
This band only has good songs.
