- Here is another special of Strike It Lucky presented by Michael Barrymore from 1992. This features funny moments and favourite contestants from previous series including Series 7.

Barrymore was an amazing presenter. I liked him when I was really young presenting it, but its only now you realise what a class act he really was.
A lot of people may dislike him but I think he was great, his show made me laugh then and still does now watching on You Tube.
There isn't anyone on TV today that comes close to Barrymores amazing rapport and ease with contestants.
Too PC today.
Michael Barrymore's private life should have been kept that way.
If a person died in his company, it was just a tragic accident.
The media are the true killers, they killed the best entertainers career
And the media continue to ruin many peoples lives. Pure poison.
Loved this show. Wasn't he just the best entertainer . I miss him on our screens.Hope we see him back on TV one day x

Whether you love him or hate him, you have to admit that he seemed genuine towards the contestants compared to some of the ‘old school’ ones that were there just to polish their ego.
watch his programs over and over, he is the best compare, that as ever been on tv, bring him back truly missed by all, his private life should never have stopped him, what a waste of a great man, who makes us all laugh, will always be remembered and still I watch all his shows, nobody to compare, well Done Micheal what ever he does he is the best and always will be xx

No one at the time knew that Strike It Lucky would be commissioned again. Thames Television's final day of broadcasting as an ITV station was 31 December 1992. Thames Television was an Independent Production Company after 1993, but Central would have been co-producing the series. Now Thames Television is owned by Freemantle Productions.

Thanks for this. I have a vivid memory from childhood of an episode where Michael took exception to what was in one of the monitors, so he went behind the screen, took the monitor out and threw it down the back of the set. Can't remember what incarnation that was though! Does anyone else remember this?

This is a long shot but I don't suppose anybody knows the series/episode number of the couple from 3:05 (the 5 cats), it's of a late family member and i'm desperately trying to find it for my father - I've searched everywhere and can't find it :(

@@ChrisVHS89 Hello Chris, have you got your dates correct here? You say in the description this aired on 7th December 1992. Well Series 8 ran from 21st Sept until 28th Dec 1992, and so why would they put a special on 7th Dec 1992? In a TV listings I have, it has Strike it Lucky on 7th Dec 1992, but down as a regular episode. Thanks.
