Some of our fans need to chill. Just because you recognize several errors we made with the offense that doesn't mean you expect every game to be 40 points. I need to rewatch the last few games and see how often we play to block the punt as opposed to setting up for return blocking
I think people are missing the point that our gameplan WAS to go conservative on offense. It was a solid gameplan, IMO. Bama State was a greater threat to score on defense than on offense. It was wise to limit that defense's chances to make plays. On top of that, we probably left about 9 points on the field through the missed FG and drive- killing penalties. Even with Morgan's fumble giving them life, we win that game like 23-10 had we not squandered points. We win about 23-3 without the fumble. That would have changed people's view of the game.

Bama state has the number 1 defense in the SWAC and they are playing with their 5th string QB who switched from receiver cuz they had nobody. Asu would've been tough this year if it wasn't for injuries

I think he is str8 but there is room for improvement if he put the work in . Also may need to just get with all his receivers in his spare time and work on it like Patrick mahomes does
Jackson STATE PLAYED DOWN TO ALABAMA State. It was clear on the play calling ASU was open in the middle all day, but JSU just keep running. ASU just played run all night. The Slant was open all night. JSU repeated run om 1st and 2nd down and pass 3rd down. JSU would not open the game up. that why is was closed. JSU PLAYED DOWN TO ASU LEVEL.

I don't know what the Coaches are telling them but it's clear they felt Pressure in what should of been a Cupcake Opponent. The Offensive Line has got to play Disciplined & stop with the Self Inflicted Penalties which are just Elementary! That being said Alcorn is going to lose at Home 🐅 Go Tigers

Jsu needs to step it up. This was a close game given ASU conservative play calling. Imagine if asu had a qb. Jsu has too much talent to have such a close game. U cant power run through a defense like asu. Also jsu hand offs are too slow. Terell should have been utilized in the backfield more as he has speed. Grambling used asu over persuit on the blitz against them by handing the ball off quicker to a faster rb. Jsu dudnt do this which is why irv didnt do much. However when terrell was given the ball in the backfield, hes was down the field before the LB could get in the backfield. Jsu need to work strategy and scheme these next 2 games because we wont get time off to prepare for CB. I dont like that jsu keep giving the ball to irv to run up the middle when the middle wasnt open. if you are going to keep giving thr ball to irv at least change up the run which jsu started to do in the 4th qtr. This is why irv was able to move the ball. It shouldnt have taken jsu to the 4th qtr to figure that out. It seems that was more of an ego call to over run asu defense. We all see how that played out. You have to play with strategy. That could have gone bad if irv fumble the ball. Jsu if you want to have any chance at competing in the CB, you have to play smarter.

In the 4th qtr, JSU started to run irv to the outside and utilize Terrell more in the backfield. That opened up the run game for jsu. ASU playing with a 5th string qb and only run the ball. Yet this still was a close game. Yes, ASU defense is great. There's no way you're looking at this game and not saying Jsu shouldn't have 23 or more points. Plenty of time JSU was in FG ranged (20 to 30 yards) and got pushed back because of penalties and ASU defense. If Jsu performance was good for you, it's going to be a long CB game. Coaching 101- run between the tackles early so you can run outside the tackles late. Sounds like the strategy worked… GSU had big runs off of regular read-options, not quick handoffs. Missed a wide open td on an underthrow. And another opportunity was missed when the pass went short instead of downfield. That tells me the right calls were made at the right time. Don’t confuse a lack of execution and judgement for lack of preparation. The overlooked fact is that this is a young team offensively, and anyone with kids knows sometimes they just don’t do as well as you hope they will.
