      Look at the positive, someone made a lot of money from its demolition. This person can now buy things. Don’t know what sort of home they live in, themselves, though, I guess they would demolish that, too, if they thought it would make them money.

    I watched in silence with a lump in my throat and a tear in my eye eventually ran down my cheek. 😢 all that artistry. All those who have lived there who made it more than a house, it was a home. 💔

      My man and I watched this together. I love how the added in pictures where it once was beautifully decorated. The reason for all of this demolishing is because of the agenda 21. They want to put pple into tiny apartments so as to keep better track of them. It's all about control and facial recognition. Makes me sick. All of these beautiful homes could have / should've been saved. I nearly cried too.

    This is one of the best videos I've seen so far on your Channel. Thank you so much for making the video and sharing it with us. It sure breaks my heart to see such a historical gorgeous home being demolished. It's just not fair.

      Hey David thanks for the support! It is my longest video too but it needed to be in my opinion to send it off with a goodbye. :-) It was hard and sad to see it knock down. All that remains is the front bay window which suggests it may be saved and relocated. :-)

    These homes are unlike any other in the world. They are unique to Australia and it is a tragedy that they are being destroyed at the hands of developers who care nothing for their historical value. This particular house looked in wonderful condition and deserved to be saved. Maybe it was a B&B priced too high for the average buyer? I am from the US but I have fallen in love with Australia’s architecture. I can only share in the despair that these homes are disappearing at such an alarming rate.

      Well said Susan, I do know the previous owners were there for 35 years and unfortunately it was time to move on for them and this home is one that slipped through the cracks and it was too little too late. I am absolutely sickened by this senseless, wanton destruction. Of all the properties you've documented, seeing this one torn to bits physically hurts. Who is responsible for this atrocity? Is it another "urban renewal" project? I can imagine nothing built today that can even hope to equal what was beautifully designed, built, and well loved for 156 years.

    This one brought tears to my eyes. What an elegant place this must have been at its zenith. The attention to detail and the richness of the finishes was extraordinary. The haunting music made me cry even worse than I wanted to. I cant believe a wonderful place such as this is being destroyed. The designers of this home were so talented. I will view this video many times and possibly cry again many times. Definitely a shame. Beautiful place. At least many others get demolished due to being beyond saving but this place looked perfectly sound with just the barest touch ups needed.
    Then you see the size of the block it's on and you can understand why developers wanted it. A lot of units on could fit on it.

    Hi there!! This house made me so emotional, I cried. I watch a lot of urban explores and this one choked me up. Foolish I guess. The photos of this house are stunning. Unfortunately urban development must go on to provide housing for so many people. The developers don't care about preservation or keeping the existence of history for future generations. It's sad to see this and thank you for showing this beautiful home to us. I hear the passion in your voice and sadness as you show us and tells us about the history. 12:14 You referred to an old fireplace in the cellar, usually this is not a fire place but a continuation of the chimney for added support. The fancy bits on the ceiling are called ceiling roses. I am fuming, really , this could not get heritage listing, well that is a bit suspicious. Who was involved in the classification for the meaning heritage. I expect it has been demolished by now. I suspect developers who don’t give a s**t. Their taking a while to demolish it because they hope no one notice it disappear. Yes I watched it till the end buggar. Thanks for the record of what was here and what was demolished it may come in handy in future reference when investigating who was involved in it’s destruction. Money changed hands under the table me thinks. 🤬🤬🤬

    • @urbexindigo5164
      @urbexindigo5164  5 років тому

      Thanks Tina! That makes much more sense than an active fireplace down there haha. :-) There is a big push for the logical solution the any building of a certain age automatically get placed on heritage and the burden of proof gets put back to developers on why it should not be protected. It is easy to speculate the fine details and dealings but the fact is this one slipped through and things need to change to protect others. :-) Thanks for watching :-)
