- Another classic Irish session tune, this is one we're working up in a new set of reels and figured it'd make a fun one to break down since there's a lot to it.

I was really struggling with how to play this tune smoothly and this lesson sorted me out! Thank you
One of my favourites. I learned the Foinn Seisiun version . It’s a beautiful tune. I like to give a little lilt or swing to my reels. Such a beautiful tune .. i also like to play with kitty’s gone a milking . 😊 ☘️ thanks for this lovely video !
That's a great collection of tunes!
Dude I got on Gary Humphrey’s waitlist because of your recommendation, can’t wait for it!! Although this video is super dope 🤙
Nicely played
This is excellently done. I always thought it was A minor and Cs were natural, but it’s slightly less daunting in Dorian and I think I may like it better!
Particularly in the B section. Sounds like they’re sharp in the B section. Nonetheless, one of my favorite tunes, and you’ve played it very well.
As it’s what brought me here, does your band ever play (or have you guys ever played) Home for a Rest by Spirit of the West?
I don't think I've heard that one, but I'll check it out - cheers!
@@whistletutor it’s an incredible song and apparently uses a few reels that I know you have done on your channel for the solos
What is on your shirt?!
Hahaha amzn.to/3BNf7DZ
@@whistletutor Whoa! I thought this is a family oriented channel.
You are very good! Why is natural C always so increasing? I'm afraid it's a common feature of many economic whistles. Having to buy a medium-high-end whistle, I'm afraid I'm running into this discomfort, I really hope not.
Hmm, I'm afraid I don't know what you mean by "so increasing" there.
@@whistletutor I mean too high
@@giorgiolamborghini813 Ahh if you mean pitch-wise there are different ways to play C-natural, either OXX OOO, OXX XOO, OXX XOX - and which one is most in tune depends on the whistle, how it's made, etc.
@@giorgiolamborghini813 half hole the c with your index finger, practice, practice.
@@whistletutor Of course, I am aware of this but the "canonical" position is the one that allows a greater speed, useful in fast pieces. Thank you!
It's beautifully sad when you played it slow.
Another great tutorial matey. I play this a bit different, but when you consider there are eighteen version on "sessions", that's no surprise. thesession.org/tunes/21
True, feels like there's a million ways to play this one!
