I was born in 1987. My entire childhood and most of my earlier teen years were spent here. Even though it is gone now, if there was a way to go back in time, I would know every single ride and how to get around there just like I was there, yesterday. ♥️💔
@@jamiepan7650 Yes! It was a great place to visit and you'd stay for hours without even realizing it! The Whack -A- Mole game, the miniature train would take you around the entire amusement park, music, food was all so amazing! Then once each year for about two weeks the Mid-South Fair would join Liberty Land on the same property; and it was epic! Sadly those days are gone and I doubt if they'll ever return.
Omg! Thanks for this video!! I'm back in Memphis after 25 years and my heart is broken at the way things have deteriorated! I LOVED living in Hickory Hill near the mall when I was a management trainee for International Paper. Id just moved from London. My friends bought in Germantown but I told them HHill was gonna be the p/ace to be. So sad how wrong I was. What happened to my wonderful Memphis?!
Fatherless children is one of the biggest reasons, in my opinion. That reason being multiplied by a welfare system that strongly fiscally encourages single mothers and a city government being run by seedy politicians that are only in office to line their pockets.
Fatherless children and their mothers who were moved out of the housing projects then given section 8 vouchers. They were moved around the city, but hickory hill was the favorite spot, close to the mall of Memphis and hickory ridge mall.
@@miurasvlamborghini It was not the fatherless children. During the 60s and 70s there was not too many people on welfare and food stamps, section 8 either. People had jobs , many of them left Memphis TN. If you have poverty you will have an increase in crime. Crime didn't get bad in Memphis TN till Crack came in the mid 80s. Crack changed the landscape across America, especially inner cities
Wow. Thanks for the memory. It's an empty lot with the parking lot as a tailgating area. I've forgotten how Liberty land was set up until I watched this video. Sometimes I sit the parking lot during my lunch hour and riminence. How O wish it was still there. Thanks again
I’m miss libertyland that was the best place to go too on the weekends I hated that they close it down and demolished it back in 2005. Memphis got rid of all the good places like mall of Memphis celebration station and libertyland.
Yes I agree Memphis use too have all the best places too go too back then i wish libertyland and celebration station and the mid south fair and celebration station was still around. Memphis really has gotten boring nowadays in 2019
Aw man I remember celebration station! The indoor rollercoaster was fun! Mall of Memphis was awesome as well, the ice rink, I never got to skate on bc I never got that A lol. Then turned into "mall of murder" and that was the end of that. Now I'm 31 and advoid my stomping grounds
jeff edwards ikr and I’m 23 and miss when Memphis use too have all the fun places now Memphis has turned boring since the mall of Memphis been demolished since 2004 and celebration station been closed since 2001 and libertyland been closed since 2005
@@Verge513 Celebration Station had an indoor roller coaster? The last time I went there was the mid 90s, and I don't remember that. I guess it came later? I hate I missed out on that. I remember there was a really awesome arcade called X-Site that had an indoor arcade and some other small rides.
I went with my parents that day. Huge crowd and hot day, but we had a good time. I saw a long-haired Rick Dees at the dolphin show. That was the same day ZZ Top was playing at the stadium.
I miss libertyland wish it would come back but it was in the hood of Memphis in the 90s it got taken over by drugs and guns so very sad that's when it died r.i.p. libertyland never will be forgotten
yes libertyland was the best thing Memphis ever had including the rodeo at the fair in the Mid-South Fair we showed for The Living Years out of the Mid-South Fair showing sheet and stuff and staying overnight in the Cattle Barn it was great we had fun even when I was little kid my papa took me and I love to thin and I kept taking
I was born in Memphis, i miss Libertyland so much, such great memories.
I was born in Memphis and would visit Libertyland quite often. Truly fond memories of that theme park. 🥲
That was awasome! Thanks for sharing. Sadly, Libertyland is now just a memory.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Too bad this amazing park couldn't be saved

Wow! 45 years ago today!Loved going there as a kid growing up in Germantown in the late 70’s. 😎
That was great. Beautiful memories that brought tears to my eyes. Thank you.
Had so much fun here
My daughter met her husband there in 1982. They will celebrate their 36?? (I think) anniversary in October 2018.
My grandmother told me about this when I was younger! I wanted to see what it looked like (as a person that lives in Memphis)

I know the Zippin Pippin was Elvis Presley's favorite Rollercoaster
Anyone else remember the big hound dog mascot?
Yep! Big guy with droopy ears and eyes!🍻😂
On July 4th 1976 I was in West Bend Iowa..

On God I hate that they took Liberty Land away from us

What's the song
Too bad they didn't leave it like it was originally.
Now they bulldozed over the trees that were still standing. Completely gone now.
"Politics" destroyed Liberty Land and every other entertaining amusement facility in Memphis. Water always trickles down hill; remember that.🎈
Log Ride !
still remember your

I used to ride the Revolution 10 times in a row, then the Log Ride. Good times trolling for pussy on Les Passe nights. Zippin Pimpin'✌
