Literal underdog. From the bottom to one of the greatest of his era. I miss his play and versatility. Rox was a very fun team to watch. It’s a shame they didn’t win worlds.
i think people forget that Smeb found great success on KOO Tigers before Rox and 2 dominant years on KT and came soo close to a second worlds title losing to IG in Semis. idk why i dont hear Semb in contention anymore as the GOAT of Top lane
@@iceicejay9569 They lost to IG in the quarters just to clarify. That was one of the best b05 at worlds alongside the ROX vs SKT series imo

One of the most underrated players in the history of lol esports, especially among the top laners. He was definitely great top laner in his era.
id say between him or Khan is the GOAT of top lane. no other top laner has seen theres level of success soo long. Marin and TheShy only had 1 season of unseen highs, Nuguri only had 2 years of incredible preformance. Smeb had over 4 years. Kiin has never seen international play, and Huni was never as consistant.

@@dvra2203 the Shy has been dominant domestically but TheShy has a single season of international dominance before falling into mediocrity because the meta and team dynamic changed.
He is a player who needs a team playing around him and a favorable meta to really shine. he cant be the goat.
Looking at Khan and player whk reached consistant great heights and international and domestic domination in his role for his entire career consistantly. and Smeb who had a slow start in his career but again reached those same consistant heights Khan did.
@@iceicejay9569 actually Khan was usually blamed for his low performance in international stages. Cuvee, letme, theshy, wunder, flandre etc... You can call smeb as a goat for his durability, but not khan. But still, Khan showed a brilliant level of dominance in his land

The GOAT of all top laners people tend to forget 15/16 faker was the best ever to play the game and this was the only guy who has ever been compared to prime faker in fact at times even better then the king himself
Not into league since about 3/4 years ago, but at my peak interest smeb was one of my favorites was hoping his KT tike would've brought home the gold, but he got his fair amount titles
man just now that i realize i overlooked Kuro's 3 man malzahar silence onto the G2 team memebers that foster this epic kennen ult back in season 6. That silence prevented them from flashing away, dang
I actually thought his penta while him being on the phone was an edit lmao, makes it all the more impressive to find out years later that it was real xD
I dont think a pro was ever better at gangplank. The way he would instantly start winning lane the second he completed triforce will always amaze me. Any matchup no matter how bad would turn around.
One of my favorite players of all time.
He was the only gangplank from what I remember besides Bwipo that was like, ya, it's over now that it's locked

one of the best top laners i have ever seen guy deserved the worlds once in his career
top was so important in s7 spring/summer, but it quickly became adc patch just before the worlds. Same for S8, top/jungle were actually the carry but KT tried jungle core and ad core at the point and lowered Smeb's importance in the game. This was a series of unlucky decision made by KT in 2017 and 2018, they had the momentum to be a world champion

He could have joined skt in 2016 when marin left but he decided not to as he wanted to beat them during that time. I remember a interview last year where he said he was childish and should have joined to win easily lol
@@ishfi0609 That's why Smeb will always be more appreciated and better than Khan ever was or will be. Khan took the easy path in 2019, 2020 and 2021 - joining the World Champs or best team of all time every time.
One of the best top-laners ever. Regarding the iG series, I'm just a bit bewildered he would choose the Irelia play in game 4 vs the Irelia play at the end of game 3 which is one of the best endings to a LoL game of all-time.

He should've joined SKT in 2017 could've Finally had a championship. But I respect that he didn't have the "If you can't beat em join em" mentality he wanted to beat SKT

too bad KT lost in 2018 because they played around bot when the meta favored the upper half

you ask an OG elite elite elite tier toplaner what meta is the best - he says riven fiora meta. you ask an elite elite elite OG midlaner what meta is the best the say zed fizz leblanc type meta.
what does riot do? mage v mage trade farm for 20 mins mid meta and orn gragas + ranged tops for toplane.
you are killing your game. bring assassins back to midlane. bring melee carries to the forefront of toplane.
people want to play and watch pros play the funnest champs - who coincidentally have the highest skill ceilings and the flashiest plays.
why are you shooting yourselves on the foot to please a vocal minority of basically aram players on r/lol who only play enchanters, tanks and adc/mage is beyond me. faker is gonna win a grand slam this season, peace out and retire and this game is gonna die soon after.
