Seeing Staffordshire Bull terriers celebrated for their amazing characteristics makes me happy.
@Maynard Runkle if a dog attacks somebody that's purely the owners fault. I grew up with Staffies and my younger siblings. We raised our staffies be good around people. Any dog can be dangerous but that's due to the dangerous people that's train them to be. I understand there will forever be a fear of dogs however none of the staffies I had have ever hurt my baby siblings or me. They are historical known as nanny dogs.
@Maynard Runkle you are comparing domesticated dogs to a tiger or other wild feral animals? Sweetie the reason why this dogs are "vicious" is because of humans breeding them to be fighter. Humans kill waaay more people then dogs STATISTICAL. None of the staffies I've been around have bit me or my baby siblings. Like I understand there is a place of fear however not every Staffie, Rottweiler or any dog is born vicious, it is how you raise them as stated they are domesticated. Dogs that attack human are dogs that are mistreated, neglected or abused. They don't have the words to say you're hurting me. If you don't like the breed that is fine but respect others who are responsible owners and love their Staffies.

One thing you don’t hear about Staffies very often, is that they are incredibly fast, as evidenced here. My staffy could literally run circles round me and I had not a hope in hell of ever keeping up with her! Amazing fun, loving, affectionate, loyal, intelligent dogs - as with all dogs with the right training and socialisation.
I would pedal my mountain bike from one end of a football field while my brother held my staffy, and when i reached half way he would let my staffy go, and my dog would beat me to the other end of the football field despite me having 24 gears
Our staffie was socialised with animals and people from a young age and he is the best mannered dog ever

Andy Brooks You can waste your time searching for what ever you want but it won't change the statistics that in this country the Stafford is not in the top ten of dogs identified in dog attacks in Britain even though it is the most popular choice of family pet in the country. Labradors bite more humans than any other breed in this country by a long margin ....

My thoughts on your copy and paste posting put me off debating the subject with you as clearly you are uneducated in the dog world and I assumed you were a 45 year old Yorkshire Terrier owner who still stays with his Mum by your ranting...

Great to see Staffy's proving they are like all other dogs if they are trained they can do all sorts of obedience, agility etc and like the rest: ENJOY it! Just look at those Staffy smiles!

The two kids (a girl and a boy) I take care of used to be very scared for any type of dog. Then, one day, when we were having a little picknick on the field, a staffie suddenly approached the boy (7 years old), who was eating a carrot. The staffie sat down right in front of him, waiting ever so patiently for a piece of carrot. Boy was still scared, even though the dog was so nice and calm. The girl (only 4) somehow felt very comfortable with this dog and started petting him carefully. Dog didn't even respond hahah! Girl liked that and pet him some more. Ever since that day, she is not scared of dogs anymore! (except when they get all jumpy and hyperactive). I was so proud! First dog that she ever touched, and it was a staffie! I love every type of dog, but have a special place for staffies and pitties. Just proves that they are lovely dogs!
You guys honestly think this is my only good experience with staffies/pits? What a joke... It was the best I had so far! Let me put it this way: I NEVER had a bad experience with a staffie/pittie! They are amazing and lovely dogs to hang out with and just love all the cuddles!
Brilliant breed, best in the world, this makes me so happy to see them praised and appreciated for the fantastic breed they are
And the street vets and others who do such AMAZING work, just wonderful!
Staffies are such wonderful dogs, our boy has just turned 11 and he is starting to look a little older now although he still thinks he's a puppy at heart, lol. They are an adorable breed, fantastic with children and very obedient too. We were worried when our elder daughter got a Staffie puppy 14 years ago because we had only heard bad things about the breed. Her dog was feisty but nothing like we thought she would be and she went on to have one litter of her own. Having 6 puppies in the house was quite an experience but one filled with fabulous memories too. All the puppies went to great homes, including a policeman's family, and we kept the only white puppy, our Charlie who has changed our lives completely and for the better. If we ever have another dog it will be a Staffie - they are just the best!

I had an Am Staff (rescue). I often regret I didn't engage her in agility classes. Her favorite game was to go full tilt around the yard creating her own "course": leap off the ground-level deck, around the tree, squirt/belly crawl as fast as she could back under the deck, pop out the other side, go 'round another tree, fly back onto the deck, leap off the other side, go 'round yet another tree, leap over the bench, and then back to the deck. She was so fast, and so agile. I could take her hiking and set out to crawl my way up rock faces hoping she could make it behind me, only to look up moments later and see her grinning down at me from the top. I adore staffies and pitties. Funnest dogs ever.

@@No1More1Mr1Nice1Guy1 I had a SBT and he "chuffed" people who called him a Pittie, lol. I miss him lots but the abuse he endured before we got him caused him to have congestive heart failure at 11 and I chose to let him go when he gave me those pained eyes after a couple of weeks of failed treatment. I was his human, he wasn't my dog, lol.

Maynard Runkle no pitbulls or staffies have killed in my country. The 2 breeds that have killed people are Rottweillers and Bull Mastiffs. So just depends on the dog not the breed and we have a lot pitbulls in my country.

Hey.. the labs are some of the worst dogs out there.. many ppl, almost all think they are just cute and just are Nice all the fucking time.. this is not the case.. for example, first time my staffie got attacked, guess what, a fucking lab.. when we pass labs, the bark their face off.. mine just looks at them and smiles.. dont even make a sound. With the tale straight up in the air with a big confidence! Ppl need to pull their heads out of their asses
MANoWAR labs are not "some of the worst dogs out there" they are the same as every other dog they just happen to be some of the worst trained thanks to people not understanding that dogs are only as good or as bad as you train them. People think that labs, retrivers and other such "family dogs" need little training which isn't true about any dog breed.

Andy Brooks such a dangerous and unpredictable breed? Okay that shows you know very little about what you're talking about. Staffys, like almost every other breed of dog only do what they are taught to do, they are no more prone to agression than any other dog.
The reason they have a higher attack/fatality statistics than other dogs is for multiple reasons. 1. When most other dog breeds attack they bite and then let go, staffys bite and then hold on usually causing a worse wound so a lot of other dog attacks go unreported whereas staffys bites don't. 2. All dogs react to fear, since a lot of people are scared of staffys they act like idiots around them making the dog skittish and more likely to bite, if you act this way around any dog it makes the dog more likely to do something unpredictable and finally 3. Dickheads who want a dog as a status symbol of looking hard don't buy labradors they buy staffys or rottweilers, they then teach the dogs to be agressive and so the dog is agressive, shocker.
Whenever you see a staffy attack story it's not in some loving home with good parents, it's always some chavy asshole or someone that neglected their dog.
People need to get it through their heads that dogs are only as bad as their owners, dogs are designed to do what their master teaches them to do, if you're an idiot who doesn't teach your dog anything or teaches violence then you'll get a bad dog, simple as that.

chris davies I'm really sorry to hear that. At least she wasn't languishing in a dog's home (which is how so many seem to end up) and had a better life with you. I'm sure she knew she was loved. It does get easier over time.

thank you everyone for your support but although ive had staffs all my life since i was a child and im now 50 ill never have another one even a rspca one as even hearing a dog bark reminds of my girl.all the best everyone and love your staffs,i never did enough.

More Staffys' are put to sleep in dog pounds than any other breed. And still they breed them. Breeders start being more responsible and less greedy.
Quite frankly, no staffies need to be bred for at least 10 years. There are far too many of them.

I wish I wasn't actually. My mom aborted the wrong child. I also refuse to ever have children for a multitude of reasons, so nice try.
Still, with the amount of dogs and particularly pit bulls and chihuahuas being carelessly bred by backyard breeders and then thrown into the shelter to ultimately be euthanized (my own little county euthanized to the tune of 40 cats and 20 dogs every single fucking day,) yes, I do feel strongly that there shouldn't be any more being bred for a while.

I find this very hard to believe I have a lovely Staffordshire who is a good dog that was abandoned on me spite me trying to re home him its been impossible I do love the dog but were the law stands over this
