Thanks for the video, I made up my mind getting this lens (emount version) today. Just wanna say dude you have a calming presence in your videos and its a great all rounded real world review! Stay safe! Greetings from Hong Kong
Hi there, I've never used a ring flash so I wouldn't really know. Macro shooters are split between standard, twin and ring flash users so I would imagine it would, or should, be OK.
Hey your soo nice, poised composed they way u speak is so soothing gives me calm feeling . One question the flash keeps vibrating doesn’t it create vibration to your camera ?
Yep, the arm itself didn't snap but I think all the bending and articulation caused the breaking of one of the wires inside the arm. Now using the second unit I've owned.
I would say 50 / 50 to be honest. I have now bought a second one as the first one simply died by over articulating and bending the support arms. I guess one of the internal wires must have broke. I did get a good year and a half out of it though.
Hi @seawildearth, how long have you been using this 'franken' flash? I just wonder about its durability. I am interested to buy one but i am not sure about the long term use of the arms if they will get shaggy at some point, what has been your experience so far?
Peter Brakels you can say I’m a fool, but I bought this flash 4 years ago and the right arm broke from minimal bending. Since then I’ve been using the youngnuo twin flash that attaches to the lens. It works very well BUT it’s easy to bump into bugs. So, today I ordered this twin flash again and will try to be really careful with the delicate arms. Hopefully the design was improved and I’ll keep you posted on how it works. I have my own little diffusers. What are you into shooting?
@@mike2687 it works, but I personally like the Youngno twin flash much better. It’s a lot better lighting and easy to use. I would choose the younguo if you are debating the two
I'm late to the party, sorry about that folks. I did have a breakage but it wasn't the arm itself but I think all the bending and articulation caused the breaking of one of the wires inside the arm. Now using the second unit I've owned.
Afternoon interesting setup. I was station in Okinawa and photographed there a lot. I live in Missouri now. my F/B page is DuLany Images I hope to hear from you. I enjoy your video.
Awesome video mate! Such a cool lens!
Thank you for your wonderful review and that clear message in the end 🙏
I've just picked up the laowa 2x 60mm and very nice it is too.

Sorry for the late response. No problem with movement on the camera. No shakes.
where was the location (Florida?) where this video was shot
Filmed close to my apartment here in Okinawa, Japan
Did the arms ever snap on you? The right arm on mine snapped and it’s loose now. My version is about 4 years old. Did they improve e design?

thank you!
The nature in your area sure looks great compared to the nature here in Denmark. I bet you can find all sorts of colorful insects :)
Cheers, the critters here depend on the time of year.
How durable is the flash ?
Do you recommend it ?

Very helpful. I have subscribed. Hope to see you in my videos. salute.

Dude, the sign said "do not enter".
Yep, the sign for the trail that goes off to the left of the sign that is not in the shot. Cheers for your input.
The best places to explore are the ones with 'no entry' signs.
First
great video -but the covid guidelines, rules, etc were BS -we know now -super wild.... sorry i had to say it
How long ago did covid finish? We all got duped. Only took me a few weeks to get over it though.
@@seawildearth glad you made it out alive!
