- NITTO 555R2 & G2 Differences. I use the R2 in summer and G2 in winter.
The R2 is great for traction and does well for daily driving and at speed. Balance off nice and stay pretty decent as the tread wears down. I’ve got about 2k miles on these in the video. My last set lasted around 4200 summer miles.
I’ve got about 1200 miles on the G2 as of this video post and they do well in dry and wet. Traction for a 1000hp vehicle at launch is a slight spin. - Авто та транспорт

Im running the r2s in a 295/35/20 boy they are sticky run them at 28 psi , they hook , they are great in the rain ,they dont last but its a drag radial 🤷♂️
How many miles did you get out of them?
@@Austin_1498 i dont drive it that often but my guess is 10 to 12k if you take care of them
Annoys me that instead of 9/32 tread, nitto makes them at 6/32 from their factory
I run the 555r2 in 345 30r19 on my 750ish whp 19 mustang and it hooks decent. Heard alot of negatives about the 555g2 regular tire. Debating if I want to replace my front tires with these to match brands front to rear, right now the fronts are mps4s in 275 and they are good tire but getting old
Did you have to modify the panels how are you fitting that on a s550??? My 305/35r20s on 11 inch rim barley clear .
The g2s are fine for cornering but they need to be warm
@@Madmaxxxx1984 I run project 6gr Five style wheels in 19x10 front and 19x11.5 rear and clear fine. I'm lowered 1inch front to back if it were low it be an issue. I clearanced the rear upper shock mounts by a very small amount because the tire touched slightly when the suspension cycles
How well do these hook from a dig or 2nd? Have you tried 888rs? Thanks
Those g2’s are trash if you’re asking for traction! You can see in one of my videos where I’m driving my brothers 430whp 95 gt it spins 1st and 2nd really hard, and in colder conditions it’ll spin almost all of 3rd from a 60mph roll. Never experienced the 555R2 so I can’t really give an opinion on those tires. How do you like the R2’s

@@omarflores6470 on my brothers supercharged 95 gt we run 315/35/17’s but we’re now running a Toyo R888R 315/35/17 and the car hooks much better now, still spins them in 2nd if they’re cold but once they’re warm they dead hook

I believe g2s are used for drifting I don't think there meant for great traction
@@syco4035 lol I wouldn’t doubt it, they really sucked for traction, on a cold day, my brothers 95 gt would even spin from a 3rd gear roll at 60mph and gain traction back around 90mph lol
Annoys me that 555r2's come new with barely any tread. Pretty grimy of the company

@@medogabr9952Nittos good, dont listen to him. Running a 305/35r (thin sidewall) and can still hook on 600+ wheel with an aggressive clutch slip.
