It's still not clear but partly because it is not even a rule in anyway that how long it should take to be an upcoming artist. Big Zulu was up n coming (not in the industry cycle) according to my experience, his been doing his thing for more than 10years before he blew up. There are no rules and that is fair enough. don't make up rules lol! S/O to the podcst though
