The U.S. Air Force Band's Max Impact has made unique contributions to our Airman culture, writing career field-specific songs for the Honor Guard ("Stand") and Air Force Special Operations ("Send Me"). However, for their next project, the members of the band wanted to broaden the scope of their message. The result of this desire for force-wide inclusivity is the song "American Airman," which was written by Technical Sgt. Nalani Quintello and Senior Master Sgt. Matt Ascione, both members of Max Impact.

She is a great singer, and is very pretty as well. The band played that tune just perfectly, and the different scenes are a true representation of the Air Force, and the jobs the airmen have to do each day.

If you think about it, record them marching into the parade ground at Lakeland with the drums. I recorded a little bit but didn't get enough to loop it and it won't be on the DVD if you buy the graduation DVD (my son graduated in 2021 and is currently serving)

Nalani Quintello is awesome, American Idol truly missed out on this one when she decided to withdraw from American Idol to go with the Air Force and join Max Impact. They could not have chose a better singer and person than Nalani to represent our country.

Nothing but respect for the men and women in the armed forces. The wars they are sent to fight are another issue, but the people on the ground are true heroes. I've only listened to two songs from this band but both songs were awesome, the band is great and all of the singers are AMAZING. Truly remarkable people. Thank you, for your service and for the music.

Just looked her up. She has an associates degree in music performance, a bachelors in Music business, and enlisted in 2015. Musicians in the military typically have degrees in the field. They are top of the line, as much as symphony musicians and music teachers in schools and colleges.
You would be correct! Many of us have multiple degrees to study what we love, and that is: bringing joy to the American people through the power of music. ✈️

My father served 24 years in the Air Force as a fighter pilot. I served 21 years as a Avionics Technician. My son served 24 years as CADAM instructor. My father is gone but my son and I are still kicking. Loved the song.

Nalani, Separating from the Military to focus on your mental health and moving forward is one of the best things you can do for yourself. You made the most of your career, and despite all of hardships, you still did what very few people have done in this nation, and that's always something to be proud of. We all want change, we all want to military to be a better place. But the unfortunate cycle is that most of the good ones get out early, because they no longer want to sacrifice their own sanity instead of staying in. We can only hope that as the "woke" generation climbs through the ranks, and the crusties retire, they can make changes for the better and hopefully not get dragged into the "this is the way its always been" mentality." Welcome to the greatest promotion you will ever receive, civilian. And thank you for you service.

Just found this one and WOW, fantastic. Thanks to all active and vets for their service regardless of branch. And to the haters, well your right to hate was hard fought and protected by these brave men and women.
This is one of my 7 year olds favorite songs. It's cool to hear her sing along to it.
I'm a proud (former) Air Force son. I was born not long after my mother completed basic at Lackland (and I'm assuming fire training at Goodfellow). Her first duty station as a fireman was Davis Monthan as part of the flight line department. The second was to Goodfellow as a fire instructor. Third, Altus again as a flight line fireman. Then, back to Goodfellow as some sort of training research and development NCO. 3 Deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan total, I can't remember how my TCSs across the world, and at least 2 short trips to Washington D.C. and France. If I remember her final rank, E-7, Master Sargent Jessica Packard (retired) at Goodfellow Air Force Base, San Angelo, Texas with the 17th Training Wing.
I have no fonder memories as a military kid than to get to walk through the hangers on Davis Monthan and get to see all the aircraft and firefighting trucks. F-15s, F-16s, F-22s, A-10s, C-130s, C-17s, UH-60s, KC-10s, and KC-135s. My absolute favorite was getting to watch the Thunderbirds come in for the Air Shows.
Would love to see more songs with her as the main singer. That voice is amazing and I love the patriotism evident in this song, even if some people call it cheesy. Maybe I love it so much cuz I love cheese.

While not in the USAF, I was an American airman serving the US Navy as a weather forecaster so that makes me an airman! So proud to have served and would do it all again. LOVE this SONG!!!

There are a lot of ignorant people commenting about the bands without knowing all the facts. the only band that toy start as a E-6 is the D.C band. all the other bands starts as a E-3. 99% of the people who join the band has some type of college degree, from bachelors to DMAs/PHDs etc... I've seen E-3s with DMA! everybody in the band could easily join the AF as officers but they prefer to join doing what they love to do best, as an airmen musician. they don't need tech school cuz they already paid for there training. As a matter of fact the mayority of the Amn that you see in the bands are already in there mid 20s cuz they joined after college. With that been said, I do recommend to get all the facts/information coreect before start talking nosense. Good job Max Impact!

HOLY COW!! This video came across my Facebook feed about 4 or 5 days ago and I've been wearing it out. I have fallen in LOVE with this song! Now that I've found you guys on youtube I have been enjoying your other videos and now I have a new favorite band! You guys KICK BUTT!!! This young lady doing the lead vox on this one just blows me away with her range and vocal control. She applies the hard edges in just the perfect places, and your video editing coupled with the music has both brought tears to my eyes and has made me feel proud enough to stand and give you a crisp salute...particularly during this lead solo with the T-birds doing their fly-by. This song has made me wish that I wasn't retired from the Army and could join the Air Force, for God's sake!! I LOVE you guys, and you what you are doing here!
