I was a kid watching this, on the Rupert The Bear VHS, I mean.... what was they thinking 🤣🤣🤣🤣 “It was a Thursday Night... I was working late” just has me laughing now, If You Know, You Know
Think I first saw this late at night on Old Grey Whistle Test and was blown away by it. Then when I bought Rupert and the Frog song for my kids on VHS and saw this as a extra, well I was in heaven. Brilliant visuals by Ian Emes who was responsible for much of the early Pink Floyd visuals.
Linda was a non-assuming and quiet soul. I can vouch personally for that when she pulled up in an MPL Merc outside my flat in Vale Road Liverpool. My guess was she was doing’ a quick revisit of Beatles Homes. She’d just come from Forthlin and this was her next stop…we know where? She acknowledged me with a smile. Gobsmacked!
I remember sneaking into the Living Room as a child of about 5-6 at probably 4:30am, everyone in bed and punishing myself deliberately watching this on VHS a that time of night.
Dear Wings, This is absolutely wonderful. Embracing an emotion being felt by Linda I assume. Actually putting emotion into music and art like the above, I feel, is extremely hard to get right. Then again this is The McCartneys How very clever and healing. This touched me. Life is often overwhelming and I cannot believe it was banned. It would be embraced now... As an anthem for peace, women. To give light to women who are victims of domestic abuse, employment abuse, generally all the unkindness there is in this world today. Which I believe is far more prevalent now in 2022 than in the year in which Oriental Nightfish was created. I love it, I love it, I Love It! Love to you and yours, Jan xxx
Definitely my favourite song on the album. What a sensational video to boot! I think if it weren’t for this video I wouldn’t grasp this song as what it is. Thanks!
I copied this, Seaside Woman, and the Frog Song video from a friend's Laserdisk (analog!) to VHS 30 years ago. We've enjoyed them very much over the years!
I watched this on Rupert and The Frog song and was psychologically abused and neglected by my parents and racially abused by my teachers as a child in 1980s London but somehow I didn't "dabble in drugs" ever and refused them when offered, I'm sure many others were the same as me so please realise that if you did drugs it was a personal choice, not the effect of a sexy, psychedelic, animated music video strangely included on a children's VHS.
@@pgoddard803 well said. I’m sorry you experienced all of the above. I remember being frightened by this more than anything. Wasn’t it about 5 minutes of black after the main feature before these videos appeared? I remember it being ages ahead.
It’s interesting. This strange creature seems malevolent at first, but it could also be transforming this woman so she can fly through the universe and explore its wonders. What do you think? Is the Oriental Night Fish evil, or just bizarre with good intentions?
Omg I don't like this; used to scare me so much when I was a kid and am still creeped out by it. It didn't fit in with Rupert and the Frog song at all!
Cheers for this Novympia 😂
Can you imagine putting this on a Rupert bear VHS nowadays!
This always freaked me out as a kid! Such a cool video
I had the same VHS :) TON used to freak me out a little too. I liked "Seaside Woman" as well.
In my world this was my 1st rock song
My parents were horrified. They made the video store remove it from the children’s section.
I was six when I first saw this and fell madly in love with it. Thought it was the coolest thing ever.
Rest in peace, Ian Emes and Linda McCartney.
Please MPL PLEASE remaster every music video of Paul and Linda! It looks so beautiful!
She was so beautiful
I was a kid watching this, on the Rupert The Bear VHS, I mean.... what was they thinking 🤣🤣🤣🤣 “It was a Thursday Night... I was working late” just has me laughing now, If You Know, You Know
Novympia brought me here
Novympia cult rise up lol
Hell yeah
Literally same
Me too
Gladly. Cue the Snafoo!
It's a crying shame that this wasn't turned into a full length movie! This has the potential to actually be one!
I had this on a Rupert VHS as a kid and it scared the bejaysus out of me!! How the heck did this end up on a kids VHS?!
This was a *trip* as a kid
Used to scare me too. But not anymore.
Same
So weird you have to come back every so often just to refresh yourself on how weird it is.
Yep this seaside woman and the frog song !! I watched on repeat when I'd go to my auntie as a small kid .....
Rock on in heaven linda We miss you down here You was Paul's soulmate 👍
We love Linda in Mexico, we love Linda in my Family, someday we will take her hand and say hello lovely Linda
Always liked this with the talented Paul playing most of the instruments including that surging Mellotron!

And some of Mike Oldfield's!

I never understood what was supposed to be going on but it’s a really cool tune and a beautiful piece of animation.
The Oriental Nightfish reminds me of when I was at school and college, sitting at the table and going into my dream world or simply zoning out
Man, this bassline, the keyboard and Linda's peculiar voice. Fantastic!
You’re probably able to pick out each thing on a modern computer too, but not on a Formica cladded CRT television with one mono speaker in the back
Omg, I absolutely love this video clip! It's so filled with art and I think it's beautiful
Aline McCartney awesome 😎
She was his most talented wife and always one and only love
Unfortunately it’s too bright when she swims in a yellow thing.
ITS BLOODY HAUNTING
Gorgeous!! I want to see this in a theatre.
I remember sneaking into the Living Room as a child of about 5-6 at probably 4:30am, everyone in bed and punishing myself deliberately watching this on VHS a that time of night.
Paul and Linda Mccartney complete work........ Please released it !!!
It's no wonder I turned out strange seeing this on my Rupert the Bear VHS tape
Haha me too! My dad bought that very same vhs for Christmas. Totally weird video
Me too. It changed me.

This is absolutely wonderful.

Acid trip spectacular... ❤️🔥
What an awesome surprise! Love the song, the video, Linda's vocals and Paul's guitar playing.
It's thanks to cartoons like this that I turned out to be such a well adjusted adult.
yes yes yes!!!! i remember watching this on the same VHS and feeling like I was having a horrible [but enthralling] fever dream
Thank you Novympia!! And I love Seaside Woman!!
Omg i love this new version in stero. Sounds so much better than in mono. I love this song from when i was just a little kid.
Very nice animation and I love Linda's voice here.....really miss her, LOVE you Linda 👍 💜
Very nice video and song. Linda's vocals are nice here, as are the guitars. Cool animation.
The Paul Or Nothing podcast brought me here and I was not disappointed. Thanks Sam for turning me on to Linda’s gorgeous and haunting track.
Definitely my favourite song on the album. What a sensational video to boot! I think if it weren’t for this video I wouldn’t grasp this song as what it is. Thanks!
This is one of my favorite pieces of animation, but I've never seen in it HD before! Thanks so much!
Does it look like HD?
@@harrystoller4147 okay, I guess it’s technically 480p, but it’s a higher quality than I’ve ever seen from any of the previous versions of this video.

We've enjoyed them very much over the years!
wow, Lovely Linda Happy 80 th Birthday!!! amazing tune
1:56 HAS to be a Sea of Holes reference from Yellow Submarine
They sure knew how to make good psychedelic music videos back then.
Linda, your name in portuguese is beatiful, inspiration etern for Paul and ALL people to be love your history.
This used to scare the shit out of me as a kid because it was on a vhs with Rupert the bear
same haha
Relate loool
Was she kidnapped? Was she killed? Was it all a nightmare? You couldn’t tell.
Whoever came up with this video did so much acid that their blood has a permanent pH of 3.3
Вот это да!!!Заклятый битломан с 1969 года,а эти песни слышу впервые!!!Приятно поражен.Слышал Линду только на дисках Пола.Прекрасно поёт.
Whoa this channel is alive!
WOW! GOOD STUFF! LINDA M.(RIP)
Can u imagine this going on a kids vhs/dvd nowadays 🤣our parents wondered why we dabbled in drugs as we got older 🤪

Dislike, cringe comment
@@pgoddard803 cheer up. Maybe you could do with some drugs.

Flute by Denny Laine
Y E S !!!!!
Extraordinaria la escuche por primera vez cuando tenía 4 años y me voló la cabeza
At 2 mins 08 secs, Linda enters the Sea Of Holes
THE COLOURS WERE SWIRLING
Oh if you were a kid in the 80s you got to go to experience some weird assed stuff with your Rupert the bear frog song
It’s interesting. This strange creature seems malevolent at first, but it could also be transforming this woman so she can fly through the universe and explore its wonders. What do you think? Is the Oriental Night Fish evil, or just bizarre with good intentions?
I miss her voice very unique I think.
So weird that they popped this on a children's video 😬
good................................
Haunted my childhood, I kept hearing FISH FISHH FISHH in my head
I think this song has some resemblance to the first part of Momma Miss America from McCartney 1.
It's because of the guitar with tremolo
I remember this. Sometimes it scared me till I grew up. Doesn’t it look too bright?
Hands up if Rupert and the frog song VHS brought you here. 👐
fish,fish,fish,fish fish🐠
It was on the same video as the frog song and seaside woman I had the video as a kid.
Thanks Novympia
ii searched up for oriental nightfish and came up this song haha......
Appaloosa vídeo, please
she "wrote" this and had one of the best bands in the world playing. Her voice is incredible.
I wish a wife like her
You wish you had a wife like this woman, or a wife like Linda?
