      (American agendered straight conservative) Can repressing expressivity turn society into a suicidal society. I am fairly certian there is a patteren that mark zuckerburg doesn't want to adress to the government. perhaps he doesn't understand people would kill themselves to express.

    I'm hispanic and do not want people like Bad Bunny representing me. I've met so many people from places like Europe, the middle East, and other parts of the world who have never met hispanics/latinos but assume all we do is live that lifestyle of partying and acting wild all the time like Bad Bunny (and many other "representatives"). I promise you, many of us are hard working, conservative, and have enough values and self esteem to not shake our rear ends for a video.

      I'm not Puerto Rican but I am a fellow Caribbean person (Trinidadian) and this is a problem that I think all of our islands face. Caribbean culture is almost universally hardworking and family-oriented and everyone thinks we're laid back.

      @Raj-zt6hf Glad you enjoyed it my friend.. that's the Puerto Rican music I truly enjoy, the music of my grandparents.. I've been in the States since '87, but still very much miss my native land..as my heart truly stayed at the shores of the sea, in the place where I spent most of my childhood, with so many wonderful memories..
      When I think of my land, this is the music that comes to my mind..

    I wonder if they would consider Eminem a good example of humanity. He's a "rags to riches" story. He's a role model to millions. He speaks truth to authority. He also has songs laced with violence, drug use, and denigrates women. And I'm will to admit I grew up listening to Eminem, but I still wouldn't consider him someone I want my children to look up to, or to represent humankind.

    • @justinp.3256
      @justinp.3256 Місяць тому +1

      That's the thing, there's a lot of coping or recontextualizing going on here to make him seem good. He's probably a net negative given his lyrics aren't exactly a good influence. Giving out turkeys on Christmas or whatever to a small group of people doesn't offset his worldwide influence, where drugs and promiscuity seem to be prevalent in his lyrics. Being intellectually honest, same goes for Eminem... it's hard to squarely put either of them in the 'Good' category

    • @user-un3qt6dv6m
      @user-un3qt6dv6m Місяць тому

      @@justinp.3256 Agreed. This is where I think Greek mythology got the gods right. Each was an exemplar of a particular trait, such as Athena with wisdom and knowledge, but each has attributes that you wouldn't want to emulate. I don't know Bad Bunny, but in the case of Eminem he can be inspiring to a person to lift themselves up and continue to fight through the struggle, but also teach abhorrent misogyny and drug addiction.

      I don't think an unflawed person would be a good representation of humanity

    • @user-un3qt6dv6m
      @user-un3qt6dv6m Місяць тому

      @@jamajamajama Agreed. It's more a matter of how flawed and how the flaws manifest. This is why I think Greek mythology has it right. Each god is an exemplar of a particular trait, embodying all the good AND bad aspects of said trait. For instance, Ares is the god of war. The good within war and knowing war is you can properly defend you, your people, and your land. The bad side is countless deaths that ensue. This is also why I don't think either Bad Bunny or Eminem are good examples/ role models of humanity. Exemplars of particular traits, sure. But a whole lot of bad traits come in said packaging.

    I find it interesting how many people seem to judge the quality of a musical act to be good because of its inclusion of profanity. I used to think that Run DMC was the best group ever, because they swore; when I was 10. I still like them now, but not because of their spattering of profane language. 🤔
    This is not a condemnation of anyone, only an observation.

      And this may sound weird if you are atheist, but this is because it is a tool from the devil to influence and seduce. That is why we commonly hear, sold his soul to the devil in the music scene. Also is this why satanic imagery is so broadly used in this industry. Lucifer actually was the most beautiful angel, the bringer of light and the leader of the choir in heaven. Music can go both ways tho, either degraded in either language or production, or directed to god, with clean language or with an incredible production. Reggae for example is mostly directed to god, jah, the most high. While Black-Metal is pretty satanic in nature with screamed vocals and destorted guitars.
      You and I know how much inflence music can have on ones worldview especially in young years. How many young people tried lean because of rap, how many other drugs, or got criminal. If they didn't try it, or got criminal they at least got desensencitized to all that.
      Have you ever heard the talks of Ice Cube about how they were used to make criminality popular and cool so the people who owend the prisons get more money, they also owend the labeles at that time and pushed that narrative on the young population, crazy stuff actually!
