Going to be tackling this job this summer in my 2004 VW Passat GL Wagon. It's the 1.8T 5-Speed. The headliner is still 95% adheasively sound but the previous owner stained soda marks on it. With its age using my steam cleaner and carpet cleaner will only remove what adhesive is currently holding it uniformly. Other than that the carpet has a couple rough areas and the driver door card needs to either be redone on a corner or replaced which is on the list. Appreciate you sharing as it's damn near exact to mine.
Nice video. I gotta fix the sunroof drains, now that the weather is nice. This video will surely help me drop the headliner without any damage. Cheers!
@@BMACVAGS Has worked well indeed. The sunroof drains are now unclogged and reconnected and should never be an issue again until the car is thrown into the crusher. Didn't imagine the headliner removal to be a 45 minute one-man job, but you gave me confidence and I went for it. Cheers, mate.

I need to replace my radio antenna, to a active one with FM and DAB and also install some cables for that, and while I am at it I will also install speaker cables for installing speakers in the back of the car like a subwoofer or something.

When I did this on mine nothing came out that easy. Them poppers don’t pop out easy with a screwdriver, I used a knife and still didn’t easy come out. Them parts with the hooks for the sun visors don’t pop off at all. The centre light part broke into pieces trying to pry that out.
A pillars have a couple locking clips that need to be removed first. You can get at them from the top with a pick tool. Just pull the metal clip back. The pillars in the rear have the same clip.

I have a question I have a airbag on the side door near the frame and windshield how can I remove the cover without the air bags going off if I unplug the battery would the air bags still go off I have a 03 vw golf
How do I take those rear panels out in the trunk? Im trying to redo all the panels in the car and I cant get those two in the trunk out the ones that you said you just need to pull out a little to get the headliner out its the part at 3:42. That panel I need to take out.

Nice video! Should be using this on mine. Funny though. You wore gloves to protect from dirty but you still used a screwdriver instead of the plastic tools. All good. Lol

Unfortunately VW Classic doesn't sell the light brown headliner anymore. Can't find a used one in mint condition 😢😭

Currently removing my A pillars. Both have airbags fitted, once the battery is disconnected should there be any concerns of them going off?
Disconnecting the battery is the safest way
