Fabulous guest! He is so gifted, in that he can take this complicated subject and put it into terms we laypeople can understand. As many of your viewers, I too have been experimenting with myself over the past two years. For me, three months of carnivore gave me a total turn-around with my labs and snapped me back into shape. Nothing works as well, or as rapidly as carnivore for metabolic distress. However, now that I am stable, it is time to move on and work on my microbiome. I am making Dr. Davis' yogurt right now! I loved this show.
Were born with the proper microbiome. The problem is the glyphosate in the food. Its an antibiotic, and kills off the good bacteria in us. This is why the carnivore diet shows good results. Lack of plants , lack of glyphosate

Glyphosate is horrible. Monsanto should be shut down. That's both true and sad because humans are built like primates to consume plant matter, but our produce has been so devolved and denatured that people now think fruits, veggies etc are bad for us. Meanwhile many people believe humans are built more like lions and tigers than chimps and gorillas that are plant eaters biologically. Dr. Robert Morse has healed millions over his 50-years in practice with a 90% success rate using only fruits, melons, berries and herbs. He has healed people from "incurable" diseases like ALS, MS, Lupus, GERD, Diabetes, Cancer and many more and yet we've been made to believe fruits and fruit sugar is bad for us. Dr. Morse is avid that fruit is the #1 healer on earth along with herbs. It's hard to refute with the success he's had over 50 years practicing what he preaches. He says animal protein will ruin us over time. It makes sense being that when we cook animal flesh, we also denature it was well. Lions and tigers don't grill their meat, nor do gorillas and chimps lack for protein because plants have all the amino acids in them in their most basic form. It's no wonder we're all so screwed up dietarily with the plethora of information that all cancel each other out. I'm educated in Health, Wellness and Nutrition and even I get confused. 😂😂
Even more important than trying to find the right thing for the optimal functioning of the body is to get optimal functioning of the mind. Even those who eat and live extremely healthily get sick and die and in dealing with the challenges of life, having a healthy and peaceful mind is what we primarily need …and it takes work and effort, just as keeping the body healthy requires effort.
The more I know, the more confusing it is. I’m going to ride out my version of Lion Diet for another several months. Just properly raised animal protein, mineral salt and water. Gas, bloating, dysbiosis, poor nutrient absorption, autoimmune disorders, sleep, mood and energy problems are falling by the wayside since giving up all grains, sugars, dairy, stevia, and coffee. Additionally, expensive electrolyte powders and supplements. Fiber is deadly for many with gut permeability. The “microbiome” is what you feed it. If I have to prep food for days to denature and make it “easier to digest” is a big red flag that it’s not fit for consumption. But we’re all addicted, so we’ll all mostly keep learning the hard way as I did, listening to all the “experts” who claim to have the miracle for everyone. Thank you Jesse for continuing to listen, interview, learn and share. It is always appreciated. Even if I disagree, I listen too. Because you interview like a pro.🖖🏽
I am a Lion also and presently in a 7 day fast. When I leave my fast I am going to try a prebiotic with 1/2 Avocado and 1/4 cup of almonds with my meat daily, see where that takes me. You are right, there is so much information out there it can get confusing but personally, I just try different things to optimize me.
The volume of research on the benefits of fiber in vast. You've likely never eaten healthy fiber at the levels you need. I wouldn't discount fiber just yet
6:23 buterate is provided from the lumen side through nutritional ketosis in a species specific, species appropriate human diet. By the way, that nutritional ketosis should be interrupted daily by a big enough bolus of protein to produce a bump (not spike!) of insulin
Another great interview. I apologize I’m late in watching this. I truly believe that “not one” way of eating has it all. Thank you kindly Jesse and Kiran…much appreciated. 💥👏👏👏 ( I quit all 💉for the last 20 years) (been doing organic as much as possible the last 25 years)
With reference to the bacteria in fermented food being destroyed by stomach acid, I heard someone say that it doesn't matter if bacteria are dead or alive when they reach your colon, there's something in the bacterial structure that supports your own microbiome. Sorry can't remember who said it.
The only thing fiber does is produce lots of gas and bloating. Carnivore, seafood, full fat dairy and fermented foods seems to produce the best results for me.
Glad you feel healthy long may it continue. This video is good advice for the majority. your experience isn’t good advice for most, however that is not an attack on your choices and/or dietary needs.
there are a lot of probiotic capsules now, that are stomach acid resistant .. and i really notice the difference and even the opening up in the large intestine
6 year carnivore, I got rid of 9 different meds, 2 were injection. Rumitory arthritis, high BP, fatty liver. Acid reflex, Prediabetic, bad sleep, skin cancer, snoring, and foot pain. All gone with 85 lbs. Now 63 and looking into reset my gut microbial.
@@map3364Hello, excuse me. When doing Dr William Davis's protocol... the treatment of Sibo or when taking Sibo yogurt, you have to follow a specific diet or diet. Don't listen to Dr. William Davis about the diet or diet to treat Sibo with your yogurt
After watching this interview I came away convinced this fellow knew what he was talking about and decided to follow his advice and add bacillus spores to my anti-SIBO regimen. That turned out to be a big mistake as within a matter of hours it was clear that the production of hydrogen gas in my small intestine had jumped significantly, which in turn feed the archaea that produce methane. How could he have left out this critical point- that the bacillus produces hydrogen gas as part of its metabolic process? I have the Aire device which allows me to measure gas production so I'm not merely describing a worsening symptom, it's a measured indicator. Whatever other benefits might come from consuming bacillus spores, I don't see them as suitable for people with SIBO.
Hmm, over the Christmas Holidays, my niece brought Covid to the table. If fiber is so important, why is it out of 17 people, my sister, my 100 year old mother, and I were the only ones who did not get sick. We’re carnivores. All my sick relatives eat the rainbow.
That's because he's full of it. I'm mostly carnivore for 2 years. I never get sick and have loads of energy. I do eat leafy greens 2 to 4 times a week for the nitrates.
@@gregmoore1468you are not thinking about long term effects. Your micro biome is not on or off, there’s a trillion trillion little baby bugs living inside you and that’s what these doctors are getting at… That said, I don’t have an opinion or agenda to profess. So good luck with your body lol
He talks a good talk but this is a new science, we still don't actually know what a good microbiome looks like. He is very certain about his statements even though they are based on so many unknowns. The studies on fibre, for example, are epidemiology and not compared to people who eat animal based diets. I have only found one causal study on fibre and that showed that reducing it reduced bowel issues and eliminating it eliminated bowel issues! Several carnivore influencers have had their microbiome analysed and found the same diversity as a whole food omnivore. And people who have dogs or spend time gardening have more diversity than city dwellers with no pets etc. So whilst this is interesting, don't take his word as gospel.
Well said. I think a lot of people just hear the excitement in someone's voice and that's enough, plus some reference to some study somewhere (quality unsubstantiated).
We need to settle this fiber thing..... Seriously. I just watched your Dr. Lustig interview.... In the absence of fiber, our microbiome feeds very happily on amino acids?
@@DamcarnivoreI’m more ketovore just because I need to keep some prebiotic fiber around like a very small amount of onions or scallions for my DAO production but I couldn’t agree more! My body was completely out of whack and I got so sick eating so many vegetables, it was almost debilitating. 🤢
It's not also altogether true that probiotics don't make it to the colon where they can proliferate. In general, yes, stomach acid does destroy most bacteria. But as he mentions, sibo, when bad oral bacteria set up shop in the small intestines due to not enough stomach acid is one example of where stomach acid is low enough for probiotics to pass through un harmed. Secondly, our stomachs are not always in low ph. Inbetween meals, or when only eating plant material, stomach acid doesn't increase any where near to where it gets when eating protein, especially meat. If one takes sufficient potency on an empty stomach of a probiotic, those human forms of probiotic which take residence in the colon,, then some will make it through, and if there is sufficient nutrients for those probiotics to feed on, then they will colonize. This is shown to be true when stool samples are analysed before and after taking probiotics. And this is not even mentioning the science of enteric coating probiotics in pill form for the purpose of shielding from acids etc.
about the histamin intolerance: i had it very bad, until i ate lots of fermented foods that contain lots of histamin after a period of adaptation, my histamin intalorance is now completely gone you just need the diversity to be able to digest it and go through a little rough phase ;)
Thank you, Jesse and Kiran. I have belonged to Kiran‘s fan club for the last decade and am extremely grateful for all of Kiran‘s teachings. They have contributed to my life and health in immeasurable ways💕
He stated that more diverse gut microbiome extends life. Dr Shawn Baker said that people with intestines removed - bag on their stomack, have same lifespan as average human. Clearly there is more to study here
That's hard to believe the lifespan but healthy is healthy I guess. You're right, there's always more to the equation. Maybe what the animals we eat is important to the biome
It's all about the soul and spirit. How long does it take to understand this? It seems "science" will never get it and is not supposed to... but anyway. Peoples lives are always a reflection of spirit and divine purpose.
Personally I find fiber beneficial to those who are constipated or those who rarely have a bm. I believe most gut doctors are trained that fiber produces more probiotics thus fixing any issues. However were all different and I dont think what works for me will work for you. I could be wrong but this is my hypothesis. Probably why probiotics seem to help some but not others.
Hi, nice podcast. I learned quite a lot about our metabolism. I might have missed the explanation, but i do have a clarifying question about diversifying our micro-biome. If the strong acid in our stomach kills all the microbes that come from outside through our mouths, then it is extremely difficult or impossible to diversify gut's microbiomes through diversifying our food intake. Can you please help point me to the right scientific references that explain in greater details on how diversifying food types can diversify gut's microbiomes. Thank you in advance.
I almost didn't watch this video. It would have been a big mistake. The importance of diversity is something I had not considered. I have noticed that when I eat the same thing day after day my IBS (bloating and light diarrheic) increases. Thank you Kiran for this wonderful insight!
I only got a few minutes in. Once he said how important fiber is, I was out. Fiber was killing me. I've saved my life cutting it out. Get this guy to debate Zoe Harcombe.
Jesse wants to show differents opinions, but we are the ones who can decide which is the correct one for us. I'll say that Jesse is doing a great job at it.
Jesse takes on any talker to get likes, subscribes, $. That's his livelihood. He doesn't care if their advice kills you. He will "yes" them just like all of these podcasters.
I won’t be consuming anything that is plant based! Plants should be seen as sparingly used if absolutely necessary! We don’t need a high diversity in the larger gut. Genes are what decides how we will react to plant based foods, how severe, and when it will happen. But if you do NOT consume plants then those things don’t occur. You need just your small colon and the only thing it needs is animal meats!! Plants just get flushed out and over time damage the larger colon! You do NOT loose function if you don’t eat plants. Your biome is designed by what you eat, and can cause harm. You can have a strong immune system on just meat, and it is at it’s optimal functioning when not poisoned by natural plant toxins and anti nutrients!
Carnivore diet is an amazing lifestyle for many, many people. It’s not just about losing weight!!! It’s about diabetes and insulin resistance and many other health issues that people can get relief from. There is an adjustment period going from carb burning to fat burning- it takes time. Instead of addressing carnivores and helping them build their microbiome (with possibly probiotics) you continue to push fruits, veggies and fermented food ( which some people cannot tolerate) . All groups of people should be addressed- stop pushing fruit and fermented foods- sugar! Sugar! Sugar! ☠️☠️☠️
There are lectins and oxalates in plant foods that can wreck havoc on body tissues. I am detoxifying from oxalates now from a diet fiiled with fruits band vegetables, nuts. My gut got inflamed in this diet. Now much improved on
What about greenhouse grown or hydroponicly grown or microgreens grown in trays inside. Do they have less nutrients? I thought they were supposed to be more nutrition.
Excellent and practical way to sustainable quality health A gift of quality life shared generally to serve humanity,i appreciate this wholeheartedly,May God Bless the organisors and presenters
Here is the problem about fiber. Adding fiber just increases most people's symptoms. Then they give up and go carnivore. It's all way more complicated than just add fiber. But probably the ultimate goal is to get your gut health improved enough that you can handle the fiber and then started increasing it.
If it was me, I would stop the fermented foods and wait until all symptoms go away. Then I would try ONE SPOONFUL of ONE type of fermented food, along with my normal meal. If no symptoms, then the next day, I'd again have another spoonful of the same thing along with my normal meal, and so on, letting my body get used to it slowly and in tiny amounts. Maybe you can't tolerate fermented foods, but possibly it was just too much too fast. I would probably also choose to start with something other than what gave me the bad gas.
I’m not so sure about that. The gut is the correct component of your life force. If it leads to health you can bet the medical industrial complex will ignore or downplay its importance. Healthy people make for lousy customers.
Surely if you are missing some certain bacteria then surely eating the food that would be broken down by those bacteria can’t get broken down. Only if those missing bacteria can be added.
@coomerkiller yes, it is optimal, and here's why: all carbohydrates break down into glucose. The body needs to maintain a tight homeostatic glucose level, that's around 4g, which is easily achieved on demand through gluconeogenesis in an individual that consumes no carbs. Any excess over that causes glycation of tissues, inflammation and a plethora of consequences down the line. You don't make "some", you make exactly what you need. That's if you consume a species specific, species appropriate human diet.
When hundreds of thousands of people reverse the most absurd chronic diseases, improve vitality, get back to ideal bodyweight, moreover, when elite athletes thrive and perform better than ever before by following a species specific, species appropriate human diet (even if you don't like it, if you're human, you belong to this species, & as all other species humans have a specific diet, even if big corporate wants you to believe you can outsmart nature and eat whatever you want...you can't if you want to be healthy) then it's not a conjecture at all.
Sorry, but I think I would trust the microbiome of the Sioux, the San, the Maasai, the Hadza, the Sami, and the indigenous people groups in Australia before I would trust this dietary advice. When I look at their diets, I don't see much in the way of variety, chiefly just meat and lots of fasting and outdoor living. I agree with his advice about spending a lot of time outside, fasting, avoiding oversterilization, and reducing stress. It's just the dietary advice, particularly the fibre advice, and the "plenty of fruits and vegetables" that I can't even get started with. Pineapples, mangoes, and kiwis (which he highly recommends) absolutely RUINED my teeth before I went 100% carnivore over 20 months ago. Finally, after all of those "healthy" fruits, my teeth (and gums) recovered on carnivore.
Americans get about 15 grams of fiber a day. The Hadza consume about 100 to 150 grams of fiber a day, with the average Hadza person eating almost 600 species of plants that vary with the seasons.
@@Miguel_Travels They must not value all that fibre very highly, for when asked on camera what is the most valuable to them, the immediate answer was "meat". When placed in order on cards according to published research, they prized "honey" the most. Humans really like sugar, but in nature you have to work very hard to get it and being able to ingest it is therefore infrequent. Meat was then second, but it is their staple. Any plant food they eat came bottom on the list. So, in other words, staving-off-starvation food. I have reversed and resolved over 40 health issues after eating a carnivore diet for over 20 months now. I remember the rumblings, the bloating, the constipation, and the digestive distress of fibre. I remember having to eat 2-3 large bowls of high-fibre cereal just to battle the incessant constipation, then ending up with wind and diarrhoea. No thanks. Carnivore has proven to me that needing fibre to have regular, healthy bowel movements is an absolute falsehood. I never would have thought that when I was on Atkins all those years ago that my constipation problems were a result of the plants, not the meat. Everyone was claiming it was the meat at that time. Now I know better. Thank goodness.
@dmt3412 Still, their microbiome is much more diverse than anyone we know. I never said vegetables are better than meat, just pointing out that your original comment differed a bit from your personal feelings.
A two-hour conversation about putting things in so they can go out the other end? Just can’t get excited about a hypothetical benefit, Petri dishes, and epidemiological darts-in-the-dark. Show me that carnivore + fiber is demonstrably better than carnivore alone; then we’ll talk.
great observation, his spirit is from Satan, be careful he did say some truth but he is selling the lies which would kill the people, this is Satan skill, eg, he is promoting fiber, my goodness
Haaaa! You forreal? You are an ape! Most apes and primates primarly eat plants. Nothing is wrong with plant food. You sir are not a cat or a dog. You are a human being. Which mean you can most probably eat ANYTHING if the foods you eat are compatible and you have the microbiome and internal ability to process the foods. There is no perfect diet, all people are different. Do what’s right for YOU. Me? I do best on veggies. Well cooked veggies. Root veggies and meat as a supplement. I could NEVER be a carnivore. My people didnt come from a desert. My people came from a heavily forested area teaming with streams and rivers. What’s good for me may not agree with you.
He just lost me with saying that Carnivore is not good long term..........Carnivore saved me and my health has been optimal for the last 2 years now! I healed my microbiome myself with meat only!
@@tataa51 Actually it is a low fat diet that will have long term consequences. If you are young, for a short while you can tolerate a fat deficient diet, but the consequences to your health will show up as damage to your cell membranes and other structures of the body. Atherosclerosis will be caused by the inflammatory endothelial damage from the high sugars in the blood from carbohydrates.
Kiran is great for knowledge about microbiome. But eating meat is not for me, personally. I prefer to listen to John Mcdougall about plant based diet.
the glyphosate must be in meat too but in smaller quantity because the annimal must filter it kind of

Thank you for this invaluable information
Very interesting podcast. I listened with great interest. Very knowledgeable interlocutor.
Funny that he is pushing so much fiber, and right behind him is a picture of a Lion

With reference to the bacteria in fermented food being destroyed by stomach acid, I heard someone say that it doesn't matter if bacteria are dead or alive when they reach your colon, there's something in the bacterial structure that supports your own microbiome. Sorry can't remember who said it.
Uauuu! Fiquei encantada!
The only thing fiber does is produce lots of gas and bloating. Carnivore, seafood, full fat dairy and fermented foods seems to produce the best results for me.

Agreed, because I have the same experience.
Same. Many people probably don’t have the microbes to properly digest fiber.
Same for me. As I begin to add fibre my bowel becomes more distressed. I have to stop quickly

Carnivore will deal with SIBO ...SO QUICK ...❤❤❤

Hmm, over the Christmas Holidays, my niece brought Covid to the table. If fiber is so important, why is it out of 17 people, my sister, my 100 year old mother, and I were the only ones who did not get sick. We’re carnivores. All my sick relatives eat the rainbow.
That's because he's full of it. I'm mostly carnivore for 2 years. I never get sick and have loads of energy. I do eat leafy greens 2 to 4 times a week for the nitrates.

Love you Jesse ❤

We need to settle this fiber thing..... Seriously. I just watched your Dr. Lustig interview.... In the absence of fiber, our microbiome feeds very happily on amino acids?
Correct. Fibre is not a nutrient and is not a dietary requirement according to Zoe harcombe.

Dont trust on probiotics, dont trust your body needs antioxidants in your diet. Have own, much much stronger.

He stated that more diverse gut microbiome extends life. Dr Shawn Baker said that people with intestines removed - bag on their stomack, have same lifespan as average human. Clearly there is more to study here
Isn’t there more than one microbiome? Not just in the intestines? For example in our mouth
That's hard to believe the lifespan but healthy is healthy I guess. You're right, there's always more to the equation. Maybe what the animals we eat is important to the biome

Dr Zac Bush is the go to for guts health and glyfocate and Kiran has been learning from his amazing knowledge and research.
4:08 what data is this statement based on?
And your blood type

Here is the problem about fiber. Adding fiber just increases most people's symptoms. Then they give up and go carnivore. It's all way more complicated than just add fiber. But probably the ultimate goal is to get your gut health improved enough that you can handle the fiber and then started increasing it.
I just started eating fermented food, and i have bad gas, and they stink like rotten eggs. What is happening 😅
Too much is made of the microbiome. And we know so little about it.
Pseudoscience. Abstract Imaginations, no facts
I’m not so sure about that. The gut is the correct component of your life force. If it leads to health you can bet the medical industrial complex will ignore or downplay its importance. Healthy people make for lousy customers.
If so little is known, how could you possibly know if its importance is overstated or not? just saying 😬

What about the carnavore diet ?
20:44 carbohydrates are not an essential nutrients for humans
Did you ate them 3 plates per day?
