- My wildlife photography hide. I'm working on a new location where I'm cultivating the site for wildlife for future photography. I'm very hopeful for specific species and with that in mind I'm planning carefully in terms of lighting and background. Planning is key when it comes to building hides and creating photogenic set-ups.
Filmed with Canon M50 and 15-45mm lens.
Equipment: Spade; gloves
My equipment: If you purchase any of these items, that I use and recommend, through the Amazon links I receive a small commission which is massively appreciated and it helps me to keep creating new videos.

Fab stuff buddy!!!! Loads of potential there eh 👍 glad you are out and about and having fun!!!
Great to see you getting so distracted by the wildlife while trying to record. Looks like a fantastic set up. Good luck with it. I look forward to seeing some great images.
a wonderful set up Paul.
Thanks Pauline. Plenty of opportunities. It might take a while for the actual photography though.
Wow Paul, that was such a valuable insight into how you plan ahead for your shooting. It really helps to learn how you have to think ahead so much. As much as I love watching you capturing images, this type of video is really gold and I just wanted to say thanks for sharing so much. All the best for the new year!
Hi Stephen. That's great feedback. I will do this from time to time. I realise for some people, this is valuable information. Cheers.. and a Happy 2021!
Looks ideal !
Hi Paul. Really enjoyed this ! The potential for the sight is enormous - looking forward to seeing you get your reward for all the hard work ! Thanks for sharing.
Hi Tim. There really is great potential. It's all for the future.
@@PaulMiguelPhotography is this going to be public or is it private? Looks good.
Watch the first video where I described this location and the hide in more detail: ua-cam.com/video/mGstefaZ0Is/v-deo.html
Absolutely loved this Paul. Looking forward to this series growing which will help with ideas as I plan out my dream hide setup. 😀
Loving your enthusiasm!
Can't wait to see what you attract and capture.
Makes me look forward to my first spring doing wildlife photography!
Fozzy
Hi Paul I do love your videos they always makes me smile, your excitement was really building up in this one I thought you were going to burst. I wish you all the best with future shoots from your new hide. I'm going to be out of action for some time as I'm going into hospital for an operation then a three month recovery period so I'm going to be watching a lot of you tube to keep the boredom at bay lol. Until next time take care and stay safe my friend.
I always appreciate your thoughtful comments Clive. I wish you all the best.. you take care and stay safe too.
Looks excellent and looking forward to seeing it develop
Looks an amazing setup Paul. Can’t wait to see what results you get in 2021. Cheers Keith
Looks like a brilliant location you have got there, you look like a kid on Christmas morning talking about all your plans looking forward to seeing how it goes
I love your videos, with all your great tips and advice. The site you have there looks a superb place and I look forward to seeing videos from there. I would love to do something like this if I could! Feel a tad envious! Happy New Year and all the best for 2021!
Very informative, I have pop up plans for the coming spring so thanks for this.
That looks great Paul I'd get a little owl nest box up in that ash tree
thanks for the suggestion. Definitely possibilities for owls..
A very informative video, Paul. I like the fact that you can hardly contain your excitement about what lies ahead. Your enthusiasm is infectious. I hope it all goes well for you. I look forward to seeing it pay off for you. Happy New Year, Paul
You should start a whole new reality TV show: "Pimp My Yard". Can't wait to see the fruits of your labor. Well done.
Lol. I like that!
That looks like a good place you have there. Brilliant ideas with everything. Be good when it's more established. Can put me down for a visit. Bet you can not wait be good in summer.

that is a great setup, im sure it will produce some great images pretty soon
Cheers Andrew.
Amazing as always Paul! Love all your tips and things its helped me improve my photography!! Can I ask how do you manage to find these locations who landowners are?
It's really been friends of friends. I've got to know so many people over the years. I have also found places to work through a local wildlife trust..
You need to get a fast forward button so we can hurry up and get to February and March. All this planning has got to really pay off. Can't wait. Thanks
Great video a Paul. Did you buy this land? I’m asking a lot of local land owners but none of them are particularly interested in wildlife so it’s falling on deaf ears.
Hi. No, I am lucky to have access here and set some things up. That's a shame to hear. I've usually found these sites through friends of friends..
@@PaulMiguelPhotography thanks for the reply Paul. I’ll keep at it 👍 your new set up is looking fantastic. All the best. Leon.
How about putting up guttering on the hide to catch rainwater to store in a water butt, then run a hose over to your pond to top up as required
and a solar panel on the roof to power a bar fridge full of refreshments.
Well done Paul its amazing whats on your backdoor ! Hide is looking very good ! Can you fit in a low level hatch ?👍😃
Cheers. it might be possible in the future. The main thing for now is seeing how things develop in terms of both the surroundings/background - and the species that are naturally in the area.
Hi Paul, you keep saying "we" are you doing this as part of a club or society?
Hi Peter. I'm referring to the landowner. He's been really supportive of me. Unfortunately this hide got damaged in high winds so is now in pieces, but can be used again in some way. Thank you for your support by becoming a Member of the Channel. You'll find extra posts and images posted from time to time in the Community Section.
@@PaulMiguelPhotography Hi Paul it's a pleasure, just out of interest, or perhaps not, I use an Olympus EM1X with old Pro four thirds Zuiko glass. This sort of doubles the field of view of the lens so my 90 - 250 F2.8 is nearly equiv to a 180 - 500mm full frame so I only have to carry this, although heavy, and a 50mm macro for my wildlife work.
Roe deer, squirrels and jays. Excellent hide I’ll bring the rifle. 😁😉😊😊👍👍
Wish I could find a peace of land that I could do that on.
Do you own a farm/field or have you asked for permission to set all this up on someones land?
No, I don't own land. I am lucky to have got to know the landowner and he is very keen on wildlife.
Pas de traduction, c'est dommage.
