6 generations of my family have worked in the coal mines, and my brother still does. Hard way of life and I have the utmost respect for coal miners and the job they do. Without COAL, where would we be? Thanks guys!
I'm a very proud coal miners g-granddaughter, granddaughter, daughter, sister & wife. I grew up in letcher & now live in pike Co. I love the camaraderie of miners. The people my husband works with he talks more like there brothers instead of Co-workers. I love the respect, pride & dedication of the coal communities. I'd stand up for our coalmines & miners any day of the week. I think we have more pride & appreciation of where we came from than most other people. This video and song is awesome!!!
Coal mining is my family tradition(me n my husband)! I currently am layed off but I haven't found any other job in the world that makes me happier to go to work everyday! My husbands been mining for over 10 years and loves his job also.
Coal miners wife...the deeper he goes the more I love him.....Pikeville KY, and to all coal miners...sending you all love, and most of all thanks!!!...XOXOXOX
I would start this tradition in my family but I'm not going to die young with coal dust on them. When I'm out of high school next year, I'm planning on doing gold mining. I live here in Colorado Springs, CO and yes we have one of the biggest belt of minerals plus underneath is Colorado Springs, CO is abandoned coal fields. If I must, I will reopen one of the shut down coal mines. God Bless to all the coal miners and other mineral miners, how I ever been in debt to you all. Nice video...
I remember being in 7th grade 12 years ago and my teacher throwing this on trying to show us how mining was done and what kind of lives these guys went through my hats off to you guys being down in that ground

A MEMORIAL TO ALL MINERS; song byAlex Hodgson my modest offering of thanks and respects and sympathies to miners everywhere whom made the ultimate sacrifice. 2 poignant songs and images
I heard that ten to twenty thousand coal mining jobs will be created by Trump in Kentucky alone by the end of the year. maybe forty thousand in West Virginia.
I'm not sure the exact number, but there have already been some changes in the local coal communities.. For the past 6 or 7 years the number of mines declined in this area and fewer and fewer coal trucks or loaded trains were seen going by.. But now, for the past month and half quite afew mines have reopened, Coal trucks loaded, Train cars are full and moving on down the line.. Its starting to feel like the good ole days once again here in Eastern, Ky.
