    She is not smiling. She is showing nervous anxiety while she talks and it appears as a smile. Often Soldiers returning from War with PTSD are interviewed and show the same type of facial expression. I am one. We are not smiling in any way. We are simply scared and trying to get out hard words and thoughts and for some reason we appear to smile. I can promise you, she is not smiling to those asking why is she smiling.

    I am very happy you survived. My friend was attending VT when the mass shooting occurred. Despite the struggle and pain you may still have, please keep your head held high, and always be positive that there are so much goodness in the world than to reliving the hell. I am very sorry for your injuries both inside-out, but very happy you survived. Thank you for sharing your story.

    Why did her classroom get targeted? Was it just the closest?

    • @BoMwarriorVlog
      @BoMwarriorVlog Рік тому

      There were five classrooms targeted, all on the second floor. One successfully barricaded, another was and had everyone jump out till the teacher holding the door and the last student were killed, then the other three rooms each had multiple deaths & multiple wounded.
      ... and for the record to any reader: "gun free" means protection/defense free.

  • @nicholasdenicola1745
    @nicholasdenicola1745 11 років тому +2

    To be fair, most people who carry guns mentally and physically prepare themselves for situations in which they may have to use said firearm - so they may have faster reaction speeds due to their pre-programmed responses to such a scenario.
    A gun can't defend against bullets in the way, say, a ballistic shield could; however it can "defend against bullets" by destroying the source of those incoming bullets.
    Respectfully,
    Nick

    I would respect debate on whether our gun policy since the beginning might have been the one of dumbest fucking things ever implemented, but given that it exists, a much dumber policy is to limit where you can legally carry a gun. The morons perpetrating this stupidity of gun free zones need to be placed, for our protectinn, in a facility for people too mentally retarded to care for themselves. Pretty much anyone, (like the psycho who did this) can buy a gun and attack you with it. And ANYONE with an IQ over 100 who has ever been cornered, unarmed, by a person with a gun is a supporter of the right to legally carry concealed anywhere. There's not a single exception to what I just said.

      Well said, Mrrusss =) The only people that call for gun control are the ones, who were not in the situation and are fooled by vile politics and start shouting gun control. The only ones that know are the people, who came to the end of the line, and the last thing going through their head is, why am I docking here under a desk (??????????? it's not an earthquake; going under a desk won't help you with bullets), defenseless!

    0:45 - "He came in shooting..."
    1:00 - "I didn't realize there was an active shooter."
    Also, why the air quotes when she realized she was going to get "shot"?

    • @jessicacrump6685
      @jessicacrump6685 5 років тому +9

      In a situation like this the mind was in frozen mode. I have never been in a situation like this but when I was in a car accident I didn't realize that I had crashed. It's a state of shock. She new he was shooting. That was a fact, but her brain couldn't process what was happening to her. She saw the gun, he was shooting. But the thought of an active shooter is devastating and the brain does everything it can to protect you. And for the air quotes. She did realize she was shot. She Didn't know anything was wrong until she said she was changed from yellow to red. And Because the whole situation did not seem real, fantasy, almost as a dream, (because the brain is protecting itself in this event) she was "shot" and it probably still doesn't seem real. It's called dissociation. The brain is mysterious but she was showing pure anxiety while she spoke. I get the exact same way talking about tragedies in my life. I don't really know a great way to explain for you to understand without you going through a tragedy and it effecting you the same way. Everyone is different, people react differently. She seems like her coping was to process the whole event as a dream or like a movie where she was just watching it happen. I hope you don't understand this one day. Maybe read up on psychology books?

    Why would U crouch by your desk waiting for your turn to be shot ? Makes no sense at all. There must have been a number of guys in that classroom who could have fought back and very possibly subdued the shooter. Hell, throw a desk, chair, book, etc at him. Don't just wait helplessly like a sitting duck. That's exacrly what the coward wants.
