Holding that G note with the pinky at 3:40 and letting it ring while playing the next several notes, just because you can. Just another day at the office for Mr. Joscho Stephan.
Birelis accompaniment is what i loved the most...so smooth! Amazing guitarist. Joscho is amazing too but Lagrene is another level. Also that ending was funky as hell!
@@joe22589 What ever dude, Lagrene is a more sound and technical guitarist. And for the record i m an actual gypsy so dont be talking nonsense that i dont understand our own music when it comes to gypsyjazz.
@@MarkoTiano I will never understand, why the listeners need a ranking between musicians. These masters would never do such a thing - they just play together and compliment the other guy. Cheers!
I’ve watched several of these with these two amazing players and even though they have a bit different approach they seem to be getting progressively better as they allow each other the space to take the lead as the other does an excellent job of support. You’re both a treat to listen to.
I can't say anything but wow. This is the first time in a while that I've been overwhelmed by how incredible something is. Now I have to listen to this at least 10 times a day for a week....
The solos are really impressive but the way both players fade into transitions and little in sync moments full of character & varied dynamics, without dropping anything even for a millisecond makes this one of the most impressive guitar duets I’ve ever heard
I love it when masters can get together and accompany one another so well ,lol you're like a fine wine joscho you're getting more refined every year and you pair well
Joscho in concert....take the chance to grab a ticket and enjoy ! Greatest tasteful virtuosity and charming comments....just love to an evening filled with music.
Im back, just kidding, never left. That jam at the end is awesome. To get so much out of a few notes after you've scaled the entire fretboard speaks volumes.
It is outstanding, but I don't think it's a new genre. To me, this style can be traced back to the collaboration between John McLaughlin, Al Di Meola and Paco de Lucia.
I have seen Birelli Lagrene back then when he was 14 like i was and he was exceptionally gifted, a bliss to watch and listen to and remained a life long inspiration to me ever since. I'm not that good of a guitarist, not bad, but away from that level, i'm a keyboardist, a drummer, a bassist, and then a guitarist... My dad, guitarist, scot of all trades on strings went there to the university "alter flugplatz". We had the evening of evenings. ❤
Ah bah c'est bien la première fois qu'un artiste à la renommée internationale me répond. Ça montre votre humilité et ça fait plaisir. Merci de votre réponse 🙏 🙏 🙏
i believe that the best solo guitar is suppose to be very meaningful, the solo have to be more melodic , .no matter if is using 16 notes or 400 notes, thats the challenge, in this video i see Bireli Lagrene has more approach in the solo to be melodic, "a solo that paint a landscape , a solo that write story, and you never loose the story until the story is fading" Miles Davis used to say "music is a painting you can hear"
Bireli is probably on the TOP 5 guitar player in the world. His musician ship is so awesome. He can play every style on every type of guitar almost. There's nothing to about his technic because the guy is making music, not lick or scales :-D
@@F20ization Mmmm…… I don't think it's a exageration. He has played in various contexts, with all type of guitars. If you dig a bit on UA-cam, you'll find a lot of stuff. Just to give an idea, when he was 18, he played with Jaco Pastorius during a while. There's videos where he's shredding some metal :-D On some others, he's comping behind a singer with a true creativity and insane groove. Bireli has 1. A stunning technic 2. A extendted harmonic knowledge (build mostly by ear I think) 3. A very very strong rhythm feel. That's what I call a complete musician :-D Cheers.

Such incredible music and so beautifully filmed I think. The lesson is really excellent too with great basic and intermediate solos that seem very fun to play and have lots of interesting new ideas. Thank you so much!
I like how Bireli stayed close to the melody on his 1st break, and let him have it on the 2nd. His accompaniment rocked!
I think that is the recipe, state the melody and then takeoff to outer space
Bireli firing on all cylinders per usual. Beautiful.
Holding that G note with the pinky at 3:40 and letting it ring while playing the next several notes, just because you can. Just another day at the office for Mr. Joscho Stephan.
Fantastic
I thought Bireli was Lewis Black for a half second. Django would be proud of these 2. Amazing playing!!
I saw the same resemblance haha
Birelli is great, butJoscho showed what it is 2 be suberb
@@philipekransendal I think Birelli is better

As for the art of acoustic guitar playing in general: I can't imagine any better stuff than this.
Bireli is just too good

Bireli from another level ... solo and rythme
Bireli's rhythm is super nice as well as his solo. Joscho is lovely also.
When two "great ball players" come together, the result can only be this. Congratulations directly from Brazil!
I like Joscho playing very much, very funny, creative and fresh!
The solos are really impressive but the way both players fade into transitions and little in sync moments full of character & varied dynamics, without dropping anything even for a millisecond makes this one of the most impressive guitar duets I’ve ever heard
this is huge, what can I say. Two great masters with different approach to jazz guitar.
Love it.
I found most impressive Bireli's chording accompaniment !
Ikr 😂 There rythem playing is sooooooo good. Love the single line stuff but too me the most impressive part is the comping
El solo de Bireli esta muy bien estructurado. Realmente es un músico maduro y curtido con los años, con discos históricos. Un placer oírle siempre
Hola Miguel, sabes que guitarras son esas? La marca?
Simply the best, the best music with the best performers, grateful to life for allowing me the pleasure of listening to them.
Oh my God! Seems that guitars are the natural appendices of theirs hands! For me L. Bireli is the best guitarist in the world...
Definitely the finest rendition of this song that I've ever heard. Magnifico!!
Unbelievable how tight this jam is. Amazing stuff.

The best of the best on planet earth.Yes, there are others, but you know what I mean. Beautiful and amazing. Wow!
Bireli a un son tellement perso et riche c'est incroyable.
Amazing and beautiful. This is not a simple sound, this is heavenly music
Awesome musicianship from these masters. A pure joy to watch and listen.
I was in another world listening to this. Thanks for that.
This duo is dangerous but Very enjoying to see and hear ... Thanks guys for your music

Daamn! I'm stealing some licks here. Be back in 2023!
I'm adding you on my calendar on that....see you in 2023....lol.
2020 yet ))
Too early for those smooth licks :D
Even when you can see their fingers, gypsy is so hard to transcribe
You’ll probably be back sooner cuz of the pandemic lol
Lol... Jascho couldn't help but smile when Lagrene sculpted that sweet chord accent out of thin air at 0:42
Love that Joscho is playing with Bireli and Stochelo Rosenberg these days.
wow! amazing guitar playing. the masters are in shape!
Birellis peaceful face brings me peace as well
two legends! killer
so much talent and fun here, amazing! Gypsy jazz is alive!!
You guys have created your own genre! Outstanding!
It is outstanding, but I don't think it's a new genre. To me, this style can be traced back to the collaboration between John McLaughlin, Al Di Meola and Paco de Lucia.
Isn't it manouche guitar? They stand out in that genre, they are the best
@marcchevalier7916 this isn’t rly straight ahead jazz but more like gypsy jazz
Two monsters. Congratulations from São Paulo Brazil
If you're searching 'world-class' this is it.
