I wholeheartedly agree that these are exceptionally beautiful scenes showing the beginning of Charles and Isabella's epic love story. Charles' words came true, when he lost her in childbirth after thirteen years marriage. He was totally devastated and locked himself in a monastery, grieving for his dearly beloved wife: "May God have pity on him, because he loses more than you do." He was such a faithful husband during their marriage and could not overcome Isabella's untimely death. Thank you for uploading these scenes and look forward to seeing more C&I clips!!!

And he was always faithful to her in their marriage, which was an even greater thing considering the long years they spent very far from each other! There are some historical marriages in which they say there was love but love doesn't seem to me that real if the husband is unfaithful many times (Ferindand of Aragon & Isabella of Castile, Edward IV of England & Elizabeth Woodville).

After seeing these I'll even try to watch the whole tv series in Spanish even though I don't have a good grasp of the Spanish language. I have1 question about this particular scene. Does Isabella, the bride-to-be, know (while staying at the Monastery of La Rábida) that she was speaking to Charles V? Or did she think it was Francisco de Borja she was addressing on the other side of that partition?! Looking forward to an answer. He may well have been a man of great charm, who actually bothered to learn what interested her. Half of any man's attractiveness is in his charm, personality, intellect and humor. Physical beauty without these things gets boring quickly. And if that beauty fades-- as it did with other kings, notably handsome ones, those other qualities become ever more important.

What a load of bullshit this scene is. Like a woman of Isabella's standard would have wanted to return to her homeland because her bridegroom didn't show up for a few weeks.
Sure, write a scene with the most powerful man of his time and the most prestigious infanta, who had been raised from birth to become the queen of a mighty ruler. Aut Cesare aut Nihil, either Cesare or nothing.
Isabella skipping out of her marriage for a pathetic reason like this would have meant international scandal, her brother, the KING, I might add would have been publically shamed, her dowry would have returned to Portugal, pissing of the spanish. Isabella herself would have been damaged goods, her reputation in tatters. Charles would have been made a fool of in every country in Europe, the standing in both coutries would have been lowered. But sure, put your modern values about marriage and love in the most high profile marriage of that generation in 1526. Why not.
This verision of Isabella is pathetic, the real empress would have eaten her for breakfast.
