OMG, Billy it was amazing to see the Electric Ballroom in Camden Town. This is where Sid Vicious played his last concert in August 1978 before he travelled over to New York and then his girlfriend Nancy found dead in the Chelsea Hotel and Sid arrested and sent to the hellhole of Rikers Island, then Sid released again where he died from drug abuse, 2nd February 1979 in Greenwich Village. That Electric Ballroom was part of punk rock history 🎪⏰️🎸

Just seen your story. Whoa , haulted me. One thing you never stopped was caring Billy. Top man, you deserve everything you get in life all the loving ❤️
The worst are the repetitive boring subjective clichés about how good London was then Vs how bad it is now, and how much you want to leave. We get it, leave and close the door behind you. Nobody cares! 🤣
@@missg300 Not in my town. The last nightclub closed down over a decade ago. Even the local street drinkers go home at 7pm. Weekends only get busy during the summer.
Everywhere has good and bad places. But if you tried visiting some of the hoods in cities like Bucharest, they look far worse than London's hoods. These kinds of videos seem to exaggerate the problems in places. Although Billy says he lets the camera do the talking, he still decides where to point it, which still controls the narrative.
Went down to London from Glasgow, with my mates years ago. "Guess how much?!!", was by far, the question we asked each other the most. Whenever we bought anything. 👍 😂

Another boss video from Billy. Used to get cheap Doc Martens there in the 70s. It was more hippyish in those days, but when Punk came along in 1976, it had a big influence on what was sold in the market. Always a good vibe there. I used to live a couple of miles away in the fancy (not my gaff though!) WC1 area of London.
Keep up the great work Billy as what you do for a person like me is to provide a window to the outside world plus I do like the way that you see the world around you! again, Keep it up sir!

Went to Camden and had a fantastic breakfast a couple of weeks ago after a day in Tottenham and a night in Soho. After that we walked the "scenic canal" route to Primrose Hill and sat looking across the city with a can of Stella (cos I was on holiday 😂). Got to say, everyone was friendly and we had a fantastic time. But we were still glad to get back to Yorkshire.

It was a den of iniquity back in the day. I would go up there to watch the bare knuckle fights. Sometimes I would join in when it kicked off. Then a drink and a song with the bloke that was trying to bite your ear off a while before. Some great pubs and live music. Happy days. There was a second hand clothes shop where we purchased clobber and sometimes sold it. I can't recall the name of the bloke that ran it. An old Jewish fella. I think his name was Solly. Camden Town and King's Cross area up until mid 2000's, before the whole rail regentrification completion was a different beast. You would see some amazing characters doing the most random things. I remember this elderly man in King's Cross named Speedy, who used to walk at snails pace and would stick his fingers up at any driver that honked while he was crossing the road or at anyone he didn't like the look of🤣.
