OMG THESE LOOK INSANE!!! If you want a pair for your C6 goto vette-lights.com and use code OCS10
Installed LED fog lights on my C6 too. Makes a big difference
It’s amazing how it changed the look and they actually do something now 😂
Vette Lights are amazing, I bought both these fog lights and the GTR Carbide C8 style headlights. Got color matching everything and they knocked it out of the park 1000% recommend Vette Lights.
Huge improvement over the stock fog lights! Very nice upgrade!
Yeah and with the bad shape the stock were in was much needed. Its amazing how much it kind of updates the look of the front. Thanks for watching man
Absolute best foglight for C6. I installed xpel film on the lenses on my morimotos Before i installed them. So they dont get all rock chipped like the stock ones.
I thought about that. Great idea. I may do that as well. Correction, I should do that as well. 🙏. Thanks man. Great advice
They look great my friend!! Definitely a must for an upgrade!! 👌
Yeah gets rid of that eye sore I always noticed on car. 😂😂😂👍👍. Thanks man
Dfe. looks better. You are right. It is those little things that will drive us absolutely bonkers!
Yeah its been an eye sore since I bought the vehicle and glad I finally got to address it. Totally changed the look of the front in my eyes. Thanks for watching man, hope your doing good 🙏🙏👍
why would you do the fog lights before the headlights?
Greetings
WOW, fantastic video all the details.
Your video helped me answer my question, thank you!
👌👌🤙🤙
I guess the next step will be the Morimoto C7 style led headlight assembly for the C6?
Hehe that’s on the list for sure. Not the next thing but your very very close. 😬😬. Thanks for watching 🙏
Where did you get the Blaked out C6 Flag badge on the front of your ZR1?
A guy named @02fx2gv I think was his name on Instagram. And yes that's his actual name not me being an ass... he machines each one and paints. Does great work and I have zero complaints.
Hey let me ask you a question - I'm on the fence with these because the black plastic housing looks like it will take a beating and not hold up with the sand, rocks, etc. How are they holding up?
Oh they hold up good. Nothing as of yet. I put a little VRP on them when I do a full wax detail on car.
Ok cool thanks. Good idea to slick them up lol. I wasn’t sure if they had a full clear lens to protect
Yeah and you could probably throw some ceramic coating on it. I put the vrp so sun won’t dry out.
They look cool but I dont like that theyre less Aerodynamic. A lens in front like stock would have been good and would offer protection. If it were replaceable even better. Change it as it gets rock chips and stuff.
I’d say yes and no. I think the gains out weigh the aero loss. For one thing there no proof aero does anything till 90 mph plus. Now for the gains. It’s probably half the weight of the stock unit. Which is weight in front of wheels in a car that’s 60/40 front heavy. So it’s where you want to take off weight. Also it’s half the size inside the front bumper. This means more space for air next to radiator and intercooler. So it probably helps temps very slightly. For those two reasons I think it way out weighs the little aero loss a 1.5” x 3” flat lens would create. Haven’t decided if I’m going interchiller or pro speed front bumper expansion tank. If I go prospeed I’d see this as an almost must have. Cause that extra air space is right where the pro speed setup sits
Thanks for pointing that out. I was all set to buy a set. That's a MASSIVE tradeoff for those of use who care about performance at higher speeds. Big step backwards in the aero department....not good. I do love their headlights though.
I don’t agree sorry. The aero loss on these would be so small it doesn’t matter. I’d bet my zr1 you could do pulls on a drag strip and show no loss or time laps on a roadcourse. If fact I bet you’d have gains if anything. Again aero loss is nothing compared to weight. Your talking about a flat lens compared to one smoothed at edges. Fucking really is all I have to say. And again these are less than half the weight, using less voltage and use up half the space next to the radiator which is turn means more ambient air. Y’all are 🤪
@@OnlinecarshowNet1 first of all, at high speeds, aero plays a bigger role vs weight. Weight affects acceleration, aero impacts top speed. Now, would these make a big difference? Probably not. Maybe 1-2mph on a 1/2mi run or your top speed. However, i just don't like making something less aerodynamic unless its adding to overall performance.
I modified and fog light too recently and its not heavy enough where saving half its weight will be noticeable. So if someone wanted to be super technical, the loss of aero with those light is more a negative impact vs the weight loss has to offer. Again, probably nothing noticeable. But thats just how i am. I like the look of them if the had a lens in front. It would have been so easy to do.
certified DMV scale, I weighed my '07 Z06 in at 3160lbs. with 11 gallons of fuel.
The front weighed in at 1600lbs. and the rear weighed in at 1560lbs. and I'll guess if you were to put 7 gallons in it would weigh in at just over 3210lbs (curb weight) 50/50
