- In this video i show you how i fit roof rails and bars to a 2017 renault trafic. This van is similar to the vauxhaull vivaro , nissan nv300 and fiat talento. these are a style of roof rack i bought off ebay.

Hey Steve I feel for you with this van. My brother in law is a window cleaner. He bought a new Renault van and has one of those fancy expensive water machines in the back that converts tap water to 'angels tears' to keep the council happy! He really loves his van and is particular about it. He had a guy run into him and the van went into a bodyshop. When it was returned he had the same issue as you, the standard of work was not the same as a passenger vehicle. He rejected the repair. But it was clear that they felt it was acceptable because "it was only a van", and that when he did eventually get the insurance guy and the bodyshop to examine it, they both arrived together in the same car! They knew he was under pressure to have the van back on the road working and forced him to compromise on the quality! I think most body shops rub their hands together when they see a van come in for repair, as they can just do a 'lash up job and nobody will complain!
Nice
I have a 2018 vivaro, again keeping the back and white theme.
I went for 18 inch wolf race assassins, black with polished edges. Chrome 60 ml sport line sidebars. Tyres 255s. Gives a great stance without being lowered. Done the rear spoilers too (painted white) Makes a difference. Will definitely do the splitter and have a bonnet deflector ready to fit. (Vanstyle ABS)
Roof bars will be black but the only chrome is the sidebars and it suits the wheels perfect as blends with the polished edges.
A whole generation who have absolutely no idea how good Ace Ventura is!
Thanks for this. Nice straight forward job
Nice to see a rhondda boy doing UA-cam videos I’m from Rhondda too and I recognise where you are lol
If I ever buy a van, I'll now know how to work on it, cheers 😉👍
This is going to be the nicest van in Wales 😂
I had to edit the bracket that wasn't so nice, the instructions are partially wrong. But thanks for the video that made my assembly faster. Thank you! greetings from Germany
Nice job, mate. Sun cracking the flags too, can`t be bad.
You got some real nice views there stevie #mountains
Well Steve for eBay,I got to say,it fits like a glove
Dai Bennett 😂😂
Good tidy roof racks 😀😀😀
Great job mate 👌👌👌👌👌
Hi Steve hows it going, been watching your videos since you had van, looking nice
Looks nice and low profiled. Can you still get into car parks with low height entrances? I really want to fit these onto my Vivaro but would be frustrated if it ends up too tall for multi-storey car parks.
got there in the end Steve nice one , have you thought about fitting a sunroof would get rid of those filled holes where the.roof light was.. atb Steve
Good idea putting a Sun roof in ,I would but don't think that's going to happen, you never know !😊
I've been looking for low profile roof rack like this for mine... What's the eBay link please?
Fitted mine last week, what a pain the screws already in the roof are, plastic with a star drive that just chewed to bits,
I looked at the star bits and didn't even try as I expected a chewing.
Hi mate what socket set is that? Need to take my bolts off
Hoping you earn more than a tenner from youtube on this one :)
The best roof rail vid on you tube for sure.... :)
unless girls in bikinis doin it :)
N x
Haha thank you
Traffic* and they look pretty nice on the van
its a Renault Trafic.
Perfect 👍✌️
Watch out for that silicone dropping into the headlining at the front and staining through if you use too much. Dont ask me how i know lol...
B E A Utiful !
What brand are they??
FITS LIKE A GLUV
Did they leak? Ive tried fitting mine twice and both times water coming in. :(
Yes mine is too. I need to re seal them.
@@Sparkplugsteve same here, tried resealing it twice and still leaks
Hey Steve , do you think clear silicone or LSX would seal the bolts better ? or PTFE tape ?
Silicone I guess. The supplied stuff isn't good
Does the vent sit higher than the roof bars? Looking at a similar set and worried there wont be enough clearance for the items on the roof bars.
No it's fine.
How much has the van cost now??
Nice... Dont you get watercomming in thru the old roof light holes?
I do
Hello, I m looking for the same roof rail for my trafic 3, where did you find yours . thank you for your help.
Mcg auto styling have them 130 euro.
Was there much wind noise after from them?
Not much their pretty good
I dont use triple sets enough to carry all the time but my Custom lwb can fit 3M lengths of tube and my ladders with no crew cab mind.
Also tomato sauce cracked me up.
You can put roof rail link to buy thanks
K altura tienes los rieles
Did you put in any silicone on the second bar?
Yes i did. Just didn't show it.
Bloody hell Steve its not raining!
Miracles can happen. It was filmed a few weeks ago though 😉
Is this going to be your window cleaning van, another fit out video would be good
It is yes and it's already fitted out. I didn't film it as I was rushed but should have. Welded up my own cage for a 500 litre tank. Pics on Instagram.
@@Sparkplugsteve I have nearly finished fitting mine out just waiting to get the frame bolted down and set up the softwash system and it's good to go, what's your insta name mate
Same as UA-cam just no spaces. Thanks.
Hiya buddy I can see where the holes were where the roof lights were are going like a rust colour you will need to sort it out sooner than later mate before the rust spreads any further you need to fill them and spray paint them soon buddy cos you could muck up the entire roof otherwise if not done I'd do it for free for ya but you live so far away bro
It's not rust. It's a yellow stain that's formed around where the old rubber feet were. I tried polishing it out but was very stubborn. The bungs are tiger sealed in and the metal is clean and rust free. Thanks for offer though.
"put it on my chips later"...... silicone chips ??
Where did the phrase fits like a glove come from?
This idiom is based on the literal need for a glove to fit the hand perfectly. It has been used in English since at least the mid to late-1700's ----- NOT Jim Carrey
Sorry mate but way too many adverts for me so switching off half way through. Hope this isn't the way forward for the channel
second
It looks like you need some beacons
He had some and took them off
@@christophermason1574 oops i would have left them on safety first and all that
100% not going back in the drive now
The drive is reserved for my fiesta. The pride and joy 😂
Spoiler black I say
I'm planning on wrapping the underside of it black.
