- In this short feature I'll show you the places you can work/relax in virtual desktop. I'm using the Quest 3, and mirroring my pc. I hope you enjoy the video!

I just wanted to clarify for everyone. I'm not doing ANY post processing on any of these vids. This is straight from the Quest 3 capture, and it actually looks this good. 👌 I only had to crop my gaussian splatter vids a little due to screen tearing.
In the future, poor people will live in a cardboard box with a VR headset on mimicking a mansion environment...i can see it.
It'll be like Ready Player One
I live in the future. 😂
@@general_GAS Truth! Haha. Hey whatever makes ya happy right. 😁
Rich people becoming richier and poor people becoming poorer but at least we got a VR to make us happy
4:18 I'm crying bro how good this is.......!
My mind was blown. Truly.
You realize you can switch your seat and stream your desktop to the tv, too, right? 😁
@@vaitelias What?! No I did not! 🤯
@@YourLifeVR Haha I was hoping that would be your answer! I lost my mind when I finally stumbled upon that feature. 😂 The chair icon on the bottom menu, if you haven’t found it already. 😁
my guy is acting like virtual desktop environments hasent already been out for 4 years lol.
@@ravenbloodentertainment5657 You learned about it before me. Cool. 👍
@@YourLifeVRlol
insane!
That big Skyscraper with the two antennas is The Willis tower in Chicago. I think I found the actual apartment on Google Maps. Chestnut Tower Apartments on the corner of W Chestnut ST and N La Salle Dr. At 5:46 the brown building to the left of the crane with the building and two towers on top is the Culbertson Hall Moody Bible Institute. The Willis Tower is to the south of that location. The road you see heading to the Willis Tower is N La Salle Dr. If you lookup those apartments the have a layout of it and it is the Jr. One Bedroom apartment, lol. Best program on the Q3. You can also have your hands or real keyboard passthrough. You can also use VD to play Steam 2D and VR games. I like the Home Theater the best.
You sir, are the goat. 👊
Nice video, a few questions though:
1. Nice background music, what is it ?
2. In the modern day apartment, how do you switch from the monitor to the big TV ? I`ve seen people playing games that way.
3. Is your stream nice and fluid ? I have a Pico 4 and even with a very stable Wi-Fi connection or with a reverse tethered USB connection , 2D content is somewhat jerky when played through VD.
Nice relaxing video overall 👍
@@ArmandQ. 👋 1. Sleepy + Hungry by Baegel. It should be credited under the vid.
2. "Aim your pointer below the computer screen to bring up the menu. Click on the icon that looks like a big comfy chair to cycle through different seated positions. This works in multiple environments."
3. Yes! Extremely fluid. I'm using the Quest 3 on wifi and mirroring my custom pc. Nothing fancy. RTX2070. My entire pc build is also on this channel.
And thank you very much for commenting! Made my day. ✌️
i am watching this vid in vr with the same virtual desktop setup and the chicago skyline enviroment doesnt do justice on a 2d yt vid. its incredible realistic looking at the houses and cars even its just a 20sec loop. if you move the cursor under the screen you can change seats and add a monitor so you have floating screens in every enviroment ;)
I just learned about switching seats from another comment, truly awesome! I'm watching TV from the couch now. Hehe
How are you moving around the environment - can you use the stick or physically walking yourself?
The headset is six degrees of freedom, that means that he can walk in his physical space and virtual space without needing to use the stick. In this video he physically walks
I like vr but seeing that yellow and blue line outline kinda ruins the immersion
Can you show more vr screens like you know fake moniters
Looks like Chicago, we can see the Sears towers on the left.
Wow, thank you! Well then... I guess I love the windy city. 👏
Are you able to play steam games directly off of virtual desktop?
Awesome and extremely laid back vid btw!
Ye and not only steam
sad VR doesn't actually look this good... it's always low quality, IMO...
imo it won't look good until it's able to go like 8K.
have you ever tried pancake lenses? if you havent thats probably why
I'm using the pancake lenses on the Quest 3. It actually looks a little better in the actual headset than in the export. But I agree with you, 8k will be phenomenal! 💯
WMR does that. Why would you need a separate app?
Hi there! That's a great question. Virtual desktop was not specifically designed for this. These are just a few added environments that you can sit in while you navigate their program tools. It also has passthrough, just in case you don't want a room at all. I've since completely replaced quest link, with virtual desktop to run my pc applications. Extremely better performance. 👍
@@YourLifeVR There is no performance lag at all using WMR's desktop function... at all. Again, I don't really see a benefit...
@@FuriousImpThanks for the reply. How do I find wmr? I'd like to try it out. Iron sharpens iron after all!
@@YourLifeVR Windows Mixed Reality... the standard app
Windows Mixed Reality has been discontinued and its not compatible with quest 3, and if thats not enough, WMR was much worse than virtual desktop is now. I guess you still use some headset like hp reverb g2, right?
