Instrumental music is my cup of tea. This piece is highly enjoyable. To me instrumentals generates more than lyrics do. It generates images. And free interpretations.
Well said...I've always noticed that instrumental music has been a sort of key to my unconscious, where it draws out forgotten memories, emotions, and--as you mentioned--cascades of meaningful images.
i will unconditionally love anything that Scott makes - but that being said, if this album is more vocal heavy, I'd love to also be able to listen to the instrumentals
Tycho is my go to music for hiking. It adds an extra element to the experience. It always seems to open my mind a lot more. It may sound weird and not make sense, but the vocals give it kind of a "being disturbed by society" feel and takes away from the experience. This is a lot better than the other version with vocals in my opinion
@@chulzzz99 Their live performances were already fucking amazing. Scott knows what he's doing and I know anything he produces will be nothing less than spectacular.
*Wakes up at 9am on a dewy Saturday morning. Brews pot of coffee and heads out onto the porch to light incense and enjoy new Tycho.* That is the perfect start to a day hands down.
A friend once told me that he feels it is good when you don't like a favorite artist's new music right away, bc it means they didn't repeat the last album(s) and are progressing. I came to agree, and fully respect tycho trying something new.. But i was really disappointed when i listened to the vocal version, and totally relieved when i listened to the instrumental.. Like YES! *This* is what we have been waiting for. I don't dislike her voice at all (some comments on that other video are brutal!).. i just, for some reason, don't like the vocal version at all. The two sound like completely different songs to me.
Yeah, love the instrumentals...I feel like i get lost in it more then the vocal version. A lot of depth to your music that vocals take away because that becomes the main focus
THANK GOD. I THOUGHT WE WHERE DOOMED. This is fucking fantastic... Bravo. To come out with an amazing Track like this after what was a crazy good Album in Epoch. such consistency that atmospheric synth vibe just sends my body into the Neptune every time.
Couldn't agree more. I didn't like beginning of vocal version and stopped listening. But after instrumental gave it another try. Not bad but instrumental is just awesome!
In my opinion, this version is better. I love that you are trying new things with adding vocals (not that I hate the singing) ,I think it sounds far better with it just being instrumental and it sounds more like the Tycho sound. Other than that I think your music is amazing, you make what you want to make.
This version is the spice of life. No offense to the other artist. You've filled a niche with previous albums that no one else can come close to. To see a departure towards something more poppy and vocal-forward is heartbreaking. Thank you for putting in the work regardless, will hold out for the full album.
heartbreaking? wow, Tycho fans are so fragile. The guy wants to change and try new things while the fans just want more of the same formulaic stuff. Just churn it out like a factory, right? If taking out the vocals makes it less poppy then it wasn't poppy to being with. Music makes it poppy, not vocals.
I am glad Tycho is putting out both vocal versions and instrumental version of these new songs...at least that seems to be the case. There are people who will love vocals being prevalent for the first time in Tycho and others who will hate it. By offering both mixes...Tycho, you are a genius. This is not hedging your bets. This is growing as a musician and also being a servant to your long time fans. I will end up listening to both versions, but the instrumental will get played 10x more (by me).
I imagine a place to go... a way to be amongst all these tones that I hear and see. Lo Fi gear but I still find gradients of amazement.......soul searching is never time wasted. It's the passing that makes us. A prism of existence refracted through all senses
After reading some of your own words again I can sense your personal wishes and dreams in this. What I wrote was not meant to detract from your creative expression. Just uplift your gifts. Have a blast! We have your past work to continue to enjoy. I’m sure many of us hope instrumentals will continue as part of what you offer, what you enjoy ☺️
Wow. This is epic, instrumental will always have my heart. What you did with easy was the perfect bridge from old style to new. Hoping for an instrumental version of this album. Anyone else?
Your music takes me away to somewhere nice, someplace with no problems and just peace and happiness. I’ve had a lot of drama in my life these past few days and it’s been really stressful and heartbreaking. Thank you for this. Probably going to listen to this multiple times a day for a while. Thank you Tycho.
Ahh there we go. This is more tycho-feely than the one with vocals. The other is definitely good, his music is just unique in that it speaks words and gives a message with only instruments, no real need for vocals, at least for me
Enjoying this one a lot more than the one with vocals. I've given the vocal track many listens and it just sounds.. mediocre. One of the best things about Tycho is the way the instrumental music lets my mind wander and go wherever it may go. With the vocals, it's like I'm being told exactly where to go and it just loses the sense of introspective comfort that I love Tycho so much for. Not trying to shit on him trying to evolve musically but this really bums me out.
I'm pretty obsessed with this piece. And I LOVE that you have vocal and instrumental versions. I find them both excellent for different reasons, while being part of the same song, which speaks to Scott's ingenuity as an artist/composer. Wish the vocal version got more love tho. I think it's fantastic and I'd love to hear more like it, along with instrumental versions, of course 😉
Instrumental electronic music done well is like the modern day equivalent of great classical music. Tycho, Deadmau5, Aphex Twin, they create such a deep, epic, layered atmosphere in every song with a composition of samples rather than strings, recording them on bytes rather than on paper, live feedback and final output through immediate playback rather than the need to wait for an orchestra to play each individual sound. It's really quite inspiring to see how far can music go in it's evolution. Where will it go next?
That's what I was just thinking. She's talented for sure, but her singing makes that version sound too much like all the other electronic pop out there, turning the song into an Audi car commercial soundtrack. Scott's compositions stand on their own.
exactly how I felt. I read in his last post through email that when she was singing it was exactly what he wanted to work with but I was confused coz she has that same breath-y indie girl sound that all the others do, so ???
James I can’t say I’m surprised though. For the past few years I knew eventually he would want to add vocals to become more easily noticed. It was bound to happen even if it becomes not as interesting, the large masses find it more appealing
I really enjoy the instrumentals of this music and usually I don't listen much to songs with the vocals like the normal version has, but both instrumentals and vocals are so well performed that I believe that they are really good together. Really good tune from Tycho and Saint Sinner :)
I hope Tycho releases an instrumental version of his album for all his many fans that prefer instrumentals. It is not hard to do. The tracks already exist
Man your production never gets old, your songs have helpped guide me through life. Thank you for posting the instrumental track! You know what we all wanted😉😂 Your old songs have aged very well, looking forward to more Tycho with lyrics!
Personally enjoying the instrumental version more, as it's what us fans come to associate Tycho with. However, I can definitely appreciate the journey and growth of an artist. Change is not easy to accept and adapt to. However, to be able to tag along with Scott on his creative journey is already a blessing. Stay brilliant!
I love both versions. I love the lyrics and the voice, but I also love the instrumental and the details I never noticed before. I would surmise that certain bits of the instrumental overlap with the vocals, and as a result get mixed down/out a bit.
I don't like lyrics all that much so I knew I was going to like this one over the other. That being said, I do enjoy vocals that aren't words like in Easy. All of that aside this version sounds more like what I'd expect a Tycho song to sound like and I love that.
Instrumental music is my cup of tea. This piece is highly enjoyable. To me instrumentals generates more than lyrics do. It generates images. And free interpretations.
watersystems that’s very true
Well said...I've always noticed that instrumental music has been a sort of key to my unconscious, where it draws out forgotten memories, emotions, and--as you mentioned--cascades of meaningful images.
That’s why i love Tycho. It’s like abstract painting. It’s about the feelings.
omg yes, this so much superior than the vocal version. don't leave the path man!
YEAH EXACTLY BROOOOOO. WE ALL LOVED TYCHO THAT WAY.
i will unconditionally love anything that Scott makes - but that being said, if this album is more vocal heavy, I'd love to also be able to listen to the instrumentals
Agreed!
Judging by the track list, 5/8 songs feature Saint Sinner so here’s to hoping they come with instrumentals
Hopefully there will be instrumental ver. same as "Awake" been entirely remixed
Instrumental Tycho is great because there is no context. You make your own story etc. It's about the feeling. It's like an abstract painting.
Tycho is my go to music for hiking. It adds an extra element to the experience. It always seems to open my mind a lot more. true
I like the instrumental a lot more tbh, it feels a lot more tycho than the other one which feels a little too pop-y
Maybe he's aiming for more songs that'd be more suited for live performances
@@chulzzz99 Their live performances were already fucking amazing. Scott knows what he's doing and I know anything he produces will be nothing less than spectacular.
I like both versions. I think it's super cool that he was trying something different and trying to push his style.
no doubt about it
@@MyekalBenham It was differen, but it wasn't pushing anything.

Definitely getting those chilled vibes again without the vocals, cant blame ya for trying something new, but instrumental is 1000x better.

Much more enjoyable... now this is the first time I’ve ever been worried about a tycho album :(
That's it! The instrumental version is fantastic!
Thank you so much for this. The vocals cover everything good about this track. This is pure Tycho😁
wow this sounds so much better holy
Yeah, love the instrumentals...I feel like i get lost in it more then the vocal version. A lot of depth to your music that vocals take away because that becomes the main focus
aw they gave us an instrumental version too :')
hope this is the version on the actual LP
they knew everyone was gonna complain about the vocals which sound beautiful
@@alexstacks the vocals are starting to grow on me cant get the part out of my head when she sings pink and blue
This version is absolutely better! Vocal hide a lot of music!! MUSIC that I love so much in Tycho!)) Waiting album a lot..
the vocals on that track didnt really effect this track at all tbh
theres nothing like a solid Tycho instrumental
This is real Tycho. Please let the next album sound like this.
Original Tycho at its best. Your instrumentals really are still the most beautiful compositions to listen to.
Instrumentals are my fav.
So beautiful, I only wish it was longer!
Amazing, been a fan for nearly 10 years
@Tycho can you do an instrumental version of every song on the new album?
Literally every single song is an instrumental.. lmao

Yeah, this is the real stuff right here. The vocals on the other version turn it into the soundtrack for an Audi commercial.
