Sounds like a really nice mix. I found lemonade Cosmos were too short but I can HIGHLY recommend Apricota - a mix of pink and apricot in each bloom which ties other flowers of these colours together really nicely.
Love the plans! And all of the season extension will be a game-changer. My zinderellas didn't do the floofy thing until the very end when the weather got cooler. Love the trilobas and new celosias, opar etc. Have never grown the perennial sunflowers but yay perennials! Happy holidays
Warning about the Maximilian sunflowers...they get so huge and fall over! The main stems are super thick and they need massive support! I am on the fence of whether to take mine out or not. They have a tad of a not so pretty smell...BUT, they look beautiful! Everyone asks about them.
Golden rod, I would like to see how that grows for you, I have seeds, but haven't tried it yet. It grows wild around here and used it in a bouquet, with glads 😊 it was soo pretty.
The golden rod I ordered from plugs. It grows wild around my farm so I am assuming it will do well, fingers crossed. Yes you just reminded me I didnt add Glads to my farm plans! I did 100 last year and they were so pretty! I will have to plant some
I said I wasn't going to grow anemones anymore, but like you, I have changed my mind on my what not to grow again list, and so, I ordered 175 anemone corms for the 2024 season.
Glad to see y'all back! Have you thought of getting your local grower to start your marigolds instead of making raised beds. Normally they do well in any soil condition. I did mexican sunflowers and they did beautifully! You will enjoy them. I will grow more this year! Looking forward to following again this new tear!
I think I might just do a lot more secession plantings for the marigolds to deal with the loss instead of the raised beds. How were the vase life on the Mexican sunflowers? I read they dont smell nice, did you experience that?
@@hortonsflowerfarm5098 I found Mexican Sunflowers are great in the landscape but weren’t a great cut. The stem is soft and fuzzy and the color of blooms were great on the plant. Just didn’t hold up in a vase.
You will love the flamingo purple! I'm glad you mentioned having cosmos on both sides of a row! Great idea!
I think so too!
Sounds like a really nice mix.

Wow interesting to know! about yours being short too! I am hoping this season the varieties I chose will be nice and tall!

I will definitely make a note of that, thank you

Check about the triloba…mine didn’t bloom until 2nd year for me. I loved them and so did the bunnies🤬
Oh no!! I hope that isnt the case! How were they the second year?
