My children and I just returned from Culebra last night. I spotted Hector the moment we arrived to the island on the ferry. I wondered, what is this sculpture? Who built him? What is the story? So this morning, I dug deeper and I found the videos from the original creation and the post-Maria resurrection. I loved Thomas's rap song for the original, and this resurrection story that included the school kids and their song...so heartwarming! Puerto Rico will always have its struggles, but the culture is passionate, the wonders are breathtaking, and the people are warm, inviting, and forgiving. I'm glad to have made it a part of my life, through my own circumstances, these last 25 years.

Want to thank you Thomas for the beautiful gesture ad effort that you and your made to got bck to Culebra, Puerto Rico and bring a ray of hope to those affected by the hurricane Maria. I live in North Carolina now but was born and raised in San Juan, and went thru a bunch of hurricanes and destruction myself. Don't pay attention to the naysayers and the negative people's comments. You spoke the truth about the past of the island that culminated in the bloody death of a Puerto Rican security guard the was at an observation post. His name was David Sanes Rodriguez, 35, and four others were hurt by and accidental bomb dropped by one of the planes during the exercise. Also the destruction of the flora and fauna of the island was always a big issue for us real Puerto Ricans who loved and visited the island for its beauty. We can speak for it and is history and not fake news. I liked what you did now that changed the message of Hector Protector to a more positive future even though what was done the first time had a lot of symbolism for those there. Thanks again and God bless you and your team (Muchas gracias y que Dios te bendiga a ti y a tu equipo.) Just wanted to write a little bit of Spanish, LOL. Very emotional video

Lissette, the school teacher at 0:53, is an "undercover genius of eternal brilliance". Everyone's comment about Hector are all the truth, for each person's point of view. But Lissette's comment is the *Useful Truth*, like the master recipie to everybody else's truth ingredients. Can you swing a golf club with perfect concentration while a bystander bellows "BOO" right at the last moment? She can. "Believing me sub-important, you designated me as your nuclear testing trashcan, now I volley your belief back to you in an Aikido-Comedy Comeback.....By not being disgusted by YOUR DISGUST OF ME, I am producing a total destruction to the mind that used to believe me worthless. Check this out: This is the war where all sides win."

I love your work Thomas, but it seems like you're trying to push me off your subscription list by injecting this video with a simple-minded view of politics. These people are American citizens, and without the financial and social benefits that accrue from that their lives would be demonstrably worse. There is a word for a man who declares his country to be his enemy: traitor.
Most Puerto Ricans have a positive view of the mainland, but due to the rise of "intersectional" politics and the radical left in Puerto Rico, as in much of the rest of America and the world, many of them have moved to the east coast of the mainland because they feel they have been driven off the island by the ideological pogroms of corrupt and psychopathic leftists like Carmen Yulin-Cruz.
Politics is clearly something beyond your depth; you should avoid it because you're obviously susceptible to the manipulations of propaganda. Stick to art and re-purposing.

Why do all these extreme right wingers have to make everything about politics? They have nothing better to do in their lives than spit hate and fake news/propaganda everywhere.
I didn't see anything political on this video. I only saw facts about Culebra (the bombings and suffering of its people) and why these trolls were build. Loved the story behind them.
