- We made it to Oregon!!! I had a phone glitch this week where every video clip had super low audio at the beginning and then got progressively louder so I had to do lots of chopping and adjust volume levels to compensate. It’s still relatively annoying....

Music by SVER.... Scandi Trad. They are amazing... check 'em out!
Awesome work. You’re quite the powerhouse team. Pretty much unstoppable, if you ask me.
Yeah I'm amazed too, they just hammer out those miles!!!
One common characteristic I’ve noticed about successful through hikers is they seem to possess unshakable optimism, a positive, pollyanna-like attitude that helps them persevere during the hard times. You ladies are a true inspiration.
Always look forward to your hike videos. Thank you for the upbeat attitude and great information. I'm planning on thru hiking in 2023 when I will be 76 years old. You have inspired me.
That’s amazing!!! We’ll trail angel for you inSisters!!
You ladies are inspiring! And it's really cool to see Chief becoming more confident as you go - subtle shifts but definitely happening. Yeah, that section of the trail looked pretty bad. Contact the PCT association and they can let the crews in that area know. All those volunteers rock on what they DO accomplish. Hey, maybe next summer you two can volunteer to be on a trail crew and help clear the way for the class of 2022!
I feel like it’s more about locals than PCTA I know folks in Sisters do TONS of trail work we have a Sisters Trail alliance... the folks in Seiad didn’t seem to care about their section of trail....
@@hrconthepct2724 I don't know much about it though believe most trail crews are local to the area. It sounds as though the Sisters area maybe isn't PCTA driven. In my area I've only heard about PCTA crews. Every section must be different. Happy Trails! and thanks for the videos.
I saw that they blew up the boulder blocking the trail in Southern Cal.
@@jeancoughlin5490 Wow! Where was this?
The Trail Running Community is the best. I have run trail races and worked aid stations. Glad they treated you right. Hope you survived the heat.
It was such a fun day!
I saw the video of days 59 - 61 posted June 13th a while go. Since then I've binged watched every one to get up to date! Now I can go along with you the rest of the way. Greetings from Newfoundland.
Wow! Newfoundland! Thanks for watching😍
Thanks for sharing. Congratulation's on completing California.
HA!! learn so much from these vids.... had to look up spelunking, thanks for the education and love seeing your various bits of kit
I love your songs. Keep ‘em coming.
I love you guys! You just spread joy. It's great.
I hope your home, family, and community are safe from the Grandview fire. I wouldn't be surprised if that takes you off trail. Sending prayers your way.
This fire season is so scary!
It is. The drought is very seroous . I pray for a wet Autumn. Stay safe and looking forward to your next report.
Hello, I have been following you since you were in San Diego where I am from. I was at Lake of the Woods and Ashland and was thinking you guys were close. I think we were there at the same time. I have eaten at raw many times! ❤️🦋🌲 thanks for sharing, it has been fun to follow.
How cool! Wish we had run into you!
As a stove collector, I love seeing your Soto Windmaster doing what it does best! What size did you get in your Sea to Summit cook pot? We have tons of cook pots, and kits, but that one looks like it would be a great addition to our backpacking goodies! So far, we've done 1,250 miles of the PCT, back in 1991, and the following year. We'd love to complete it, someday! Great videos, and thanks for allowing us to "go with you", through your comments and suggestions! We, too, loved the Trail Angels we met on our PCT hike, including Milt Kenny, in Dunsmuir, and Coo-Coo Grandma in the Mojave Desert, both long gone, I'm sorry to say. Thanks, again, and have a great thru hike, Gals! You rock! God Bless! Doc Mark, and Lady Cynthia
Love the Soto!! It worked perfectly the whole trip and boils FAST. We have the orange medium pot. Good fit with the Soto!
@@hrconthepct2724 Thank you, very much, for your kind reply! We'll look into getting a medium STS cook pot and see how it works for us. We home dehydrate our backpacking meals, and the Soto, and STS pot should work a treat. Thanks, again, and God Bless!
Whew! I’m all caught up on your videos! I LOVE Ashland! We have been going there since 2011. We used to bring my daughter and my sister would bring her son. They attended a native youth camp at Southern Oregon University. Last time was 2019. Hoping to come back next summer with more kids. My daughter has graduated from college and the younger daughter will be a senior in college this year. She’s young, only 19 and will graduate from Augsburg University in MPLS. We are from Duluth, MN on the shore of beautiful Lake Superior. We have the Superior Hiking Trail here.
Ashland is great!
Still killing it out there with smiles and miles! Congrats on the Oregon milestone! 👏
Great job reaching Oregon!! I know exactly what's so exciting about it: it's your home! I feel the same when I go home to Washington State. Love your Vlogs; keep 'em coming. Thanks!
The anticipation of getting to Oregon was palpable through this video and the song wasn’t too bad ….! You are making incredible progress and having fun along the way. Such an enjoyable yet challenging journey. Hike on !
Hope the fire didn’t cause chaos for you guys! Stay safe!
Oregon!!! Broken the back of the Trail, just a walk in the park now, well. Not really, but you get my drift. It has been a pleasure following you ladies. At first I thought you were down to 2 until the juice bar. You are amazing. It will almost be a shame to come to an end as you are my go to PCT Channel and you are ripping those miles. If I had a question it would be, from the first map, what was the average daily miles? Can the app calculate that? If not then no issue. Just looking forward to the next installment!!!
We were doing low 20’s early on, now high 20’s and 30 sometimes. Thanks for the kind words!
Welcome to OREGON :) :) :)
Congrats. I was smiling from ear to ear, because of your enthusiasm for our wonderful state :) :) I love Oregon too :)
I wasn’t born here. But I got here as fast as I could! 😉
The PCT is so crazy between dunsmuir and Ashland. But you get to see Shasta forever which is so pretty. It’s def NOT efficient but if it wasn’t for the insane heatwave, it is beautiful. Welcome home. I’m really good you can miss the fires this year. I love the comment: I feel like we are spawning upstream. Lol. 😝That’s insane. What a perfect event to hit so you can stay hydrated and cool down. Good to know about the spot you ate at in Ashland. I drive through there often cuz my mom lives in WA. I hope you get your Canadian flavor packets. Thanks for posting 😁
Trinity alps got us up out of the heat so I can’t complain!
"PCT shenanigans", 1000 extra Cali miles and an Oregon serenade; awesome!!! Loved the video, as always! 💛👍
I am very disappointed because they still have not cleared 138 to Diamond Lake. Not sure if I’m going to be able to get up there to try to get some trail magic to you and others. I’m keeping my fingers crossed. When do you think you’ll be at Crater Lake? You guys are just superstars everyone wants to spoil you! 🥰
I think Crater Lake on Thursday?
Whoa, 1k miles longer in CA PCT miles.! Super interesting fact that I have never had anyone state. Am enjoying your journey. I’ll be there in a couple of years when I’m 60!! Yep.
I was astounded too when I found that out!
if you can give us 7 days notice when you expect to be at monument 78, we can leave a bag hanging in the trees with KD flavour packets and your name on it!
You’re amazing! That’s hysterical... an illicit border KD drop!
Another great video, thanks for bringing me along.
There supposedly going to get more money for trail maintenance this coming year.
Welcome to Oregon...took 3 months to get here and will only take a month to get through. Enjoy your time and be safe out there.
Wow!! Congratulations on getting through California. That place in Ashland is my kinda food! I’ll definitely be stopping there!
It’s amazing!!
Congrats.on making it to Oregon! That Guthooks map was crazy funny! You gals are a hoot 🙂 to watch. You are having too much fun. I was a runner for 15 years so that race brought back many great memories.
Funny: Guthooks is now Far Out, which is so hippie 60s...
Love the sea to summit pot. Also, interesting factoid about CA being "only" 770 miles long but the PCT is more than 2X that. Crazy!
Flavored Kraft mac n cheese - that’s a hoot.
Congratulations on surviving the heat and making it to Oregon.
Love your videos! They always make me smile!
Yay! Congrats on making it to Oregon. I live in Ashland and agree Raw is awesome!
Another great vid. And wow that was a beautiful meal you had a RAW. I'm Canadian, will look into the flavour packets lol. Cheers!
We will talk about that meal for DAYS!!!
We don't don't have them here in New Brunswick. I hope you can find them
Ladies you rock!!!!😀
Ashland is the best town ever! Now I do recall that you were only going to acknowledge every 250 miles as markers to celebrate 1600 explain how 250 goes in to that one eh! Nice to see you do a christmas shout out with your song. Beginning to look a lot like Oreo's or nutter butter's or some type of yummy cookie! Take time to smell the roses and the rain and all those miles you gain! :):)
Welcome back to Oregon!! It has been MUCH cooler lately. 🥳
I actually googled length of CA and wow. Never thought about it before. Kind of insane that Campo to Kennedy meadows is the length of CA pretty much.
Right?!?
California loves PCT hikers and doesn't want you to leave! Chief was wrong about the quality of the song btw.
Yeah!!! I had a second verse but got shut down!
the 'weird' kd flavour is cotton candy, its called kd flavour boost and its 97c here. they have butter chicken too.
OK, cotton candy is terrifying. But Poutine! Butter Chicken? YUM!
@@hrconthepct2724 i think its to trick kids into eating by pretending to be pink and candy altho im not sure what kid needs to be tricked into eating kd
I had on my insect repellent shirt while taking pictures of flowers the other day. A bumblebee was stuck to the under arm part of my shirt when I got in my car and I didn't know it. It stung me...but it didn't hurt. I reckon it was the shirt. The bee lived too...stopped, let it out, watched it fly away. So, I totally trust in that shirt now because if a bumblebee can't get me, then I think . mosquitoes definitely can't. They work!
And spawning upstream?...😂
I think I’ll know for sure if it works in a few days... I’ll give you a full report!
I live in Canada. I have never seen these favour packets but I will look for them now and let you know if I find them😁
Ahhhh, you rock!!
same, imma look toooo
Woot woot Oregon !!!!
You guys are killing it !!!
Congrats to reaching Oregon. You all keep having a great time. Keep trekking. 😀
As always another great vlog. Happy to hear you made the climb out of Seiad Valley without any problems, the real question is did Brock make the climb?? 🤣. Enjoy Oregon.....👣
He did it last year so skipped it this time...
Spawning upstream. Lol!
Kristy...lol !!
Another great show thanks. ✌️👊
Watched all your vids yesterday. Enjoy the humor and skits. Love the mother daughter sharing this great adventure. I always hoped I'd share an adventure like this with my daughter but turned out she does not like bugs, sweat, or the outdoors :( Did your original blue version of the pot have a failure? Just curious. Glad you've made it this far! Keep on trucking (that's a saying from my highscool days in Bend OR).
My daughters the same, she’s a car camper at best. I’ll have to solo it. :-( even my partner only is interested in section hiking)
@@mamawelder here's to doing it solo otherwise it's probably a nogo right? LOL My impression, however, is even the solo PCT'ers commonly travel with others at different sections along the way.
The blue pot was for 3 of us. It was just a lot bigger so we swapped it out. Thanks for watching!
@@hrconthepct2724 thank you for the note on your pot. Glad you didn't have a failure and I bet you enjoyed dropping some gear weight with the smaller pot.
I think crossing rushing rivers and really snowy mt. passes it is wise to travel with others. And in grizzly country.
You have once again put a smile on my face. Today's challenge question is: How many days until you reach Crater Lake?
I think 4!
Seems most all of the hikes I’ve watched through hike the pct over the years have all felt the Oregon border was a huge anticipation in their hike. Welcome to Oregon! Where there are more trees than people 😄
Welcome to endless Green Tunnel!
I wonder how hard it is to adjust to society after being in nature…I mean we all want the stuff (like the food you got or smoothies) but is their a part that is almost disappointing about getting off trail? When u guys jump back on it almost feels like Linus’s blanket and that it’s so reassuring to be back on trail? As always, I am glad to see the miles passing you by as you head to the Canadian border…
YES!! Town days can be overwhelming. So many people, sights, sounds and things you need to do. It’s usually a relief to get back on trail.
You guys are my favorite UA-camrs, I’ll be very sad when you finish the PCT 🥲
My thoughts exactly. Here is hoping for an ongoing hiking channel.
You both need to hike it, and we can follow you!!!
Great job getting to Oregon! So thrilled for you and love to come along on your journey. Cannot wait for your next video! Be safe…..best wishes from the hills of TN.
Suggested new name for this episode--HRC in "PCT Shenanigans" with special guest star Halo Crosby!
Wait! I haven’t watched in a while, did you lose a hiker or two?
We are still with QC and Brock but we often leap frog each other for a few days...
Found 10 packs of KD favour boost at the local Walmart can I get a address so I can mail them to you
yer getting burned....
Darn Scandi skin!! I use SPF 70!!! And I still look like a day hiker!
