Thanks for the video. Only wish there was more pointing to the spots you speak of. If your able to edit and add more pointers it would help me tremendously.
I do not understand the comment at 0:58. Is it saying to turn the crank after you have already lined up the dimple? and why? Because in my experience you cannot rotate the crank after cams are TDC or the piston will hit the valve.
I’m hoping I can get a super quick reply if you have the answer. I have a 2012 Charger SE and had my engine replaced with a 3.6L Durango engine from compatible years. The mechanic is giving me a ridiculous $$$ and said he had to change the entire timing because the 2 engines had different timing. Is that correct? I was told all that need to be done was swap oil pan location and change the timing cover with my Charger accessories! Also correct? Thx if you have the answer or not.
I do not think you need to change these major engine components before 200k unless you abuse your jeep or use dino oil. Also the ethanol fuels kill the timing and fuel milage.
These engines are trash. Never took so good of care of an engine or vehicle with well before due oil changes with chevron synthetic oil. Timing chain is wore and stretched. What a pos.
sure but I have never found something I couldn't work around. I do like the 3.6 cam lock tool though but two wrenches locked together and be vary aware on cam timing.
Good job on this. I was in the engine lab at chrysler and left before this engine. Im am eager to get a 200s Awd with this engine. Question what mileage do chains require maintenance under normal conditions?
@Silver N Black Mopar I work at a dealership. I've seen them so tight the cap rounds off and can't get the filter out. They are pretty easy to replace though, probably helps having done a dozen or so recently.
@Silver N Black Mopar they can leak for a while before you see any oil because the valley of the block fills with oil. It will leak 1-1.5 qts of oil before it starts running out and leaving a sign of a leak.
Chrysler didn't forget how to make cars Chrysler stop selling cars the American Chrysler that we know sold-out they are European now and only carry the Chrysler name because we Americans know Chrysler from the past but today is Chrysler is European cars and this engine is just like all of the European stuff it's over-engineered and loaded with problems every BMW Mercedes Volkswagen Audi Saab and Volvo I have ever worked on has been nothing but a pain in the ass they are overpriced overcomplicated and the only time they are good is when they are new and you don't have to do anything to them once they get some age on them best thing to do is sell them
I found this video when I need to finish the rebuilding of this engine!! Thank you very much
You know what? This a great video and it's going to help me get this thing running again! Thanx
Hi! Where can I find a complete guide with torque specs and positions that I can print?
Thanks!

Hello. Can I turning crankshaft counterclockwise when everything is on or does it have to go only CW?? I have the 3.L

Hey did you ever find the anwser to this?
You know what, I think I'll just buy a new van.
I'm doing stage one timing on a GMC Acadia 3.6. This is a pain in the rear. Yes. Buying a new vehicle is probably best.
These are easy.
It's really simple procedure but you should have the locking tools available
Did you have to remove the sump to remove timing chain cover?
Yes you will have to remove the sump...to remove timing chain cover.....
great video i wish the volume was better
Why there is a fant Mark at the inlet cam gear while the Mark drawn is there
When the side dimple is @ 9 o’clock will the crankshaft balancer key always be @ 11 o’clock? 1:46
Hello sir. Dodge 3.5 and 3.6 if the engine belt and chain break or the engine will be completely damaged???? I have heard that the valves break
Can this be done with the engine in the car? On a Chrysler Pacifica?
Yeah...it's pretty hard to get the engine out. Follow the steps and you'll be fine.
What can i do if i cant relearn the cam phasers on a scan tool? Would i need to take it to a chrysler dealer?
Wow I will learn thy instructions
Now try this with the engine in the car lol

hello, where can i find this special tree phaser lock tool?

Very untrue timing chains definitely stretch and tensioners wear out prematurely a lot

Well my 2013 wrangler gets 20 mpgs avg.
And no miss fires.
Looks to me I will get 10 more with no problem

Any problems with 3.6 Pentastar motor for Grand Cherokee 2020.
Do these pentastars require special tools

You can buy the blocks on Amazon for $20.

I never change a timing chain. Timing belt sure, you have to change.
good video, bad audio, learn to sound off.
such a problem and I have, the motor shit ! constant problems with the oil cooler. don't buy this shit ! Chrysler forgot how to make good cars.
"constant problems" always makes me think the first repair was wrong or half done.
Stop over tightening the oil filter. It cracks the cooler housing.
