crack the filter open while you are draining the oil out the pan. There is oil in it and drains into the oil pan when you undo it. He put the new drain plug in and then cracked open the filter, so the old oil that was in it flowed into the oil pan and wasn't drained.
Just changed my oil with the green oil and the filter who's name starts with an H. It was pretty fun. Not hard at all. Oh, and I also put in my magnetic drain bolt. The strong magnet surprised me when it jumped out of my hand and stuck to the pan (pretty funny). I am loving the ECS dipstick. Couldn't believe Audi sold a car without a dip stick. Jacking up the car was the slowest part. There are not many paces to put a jack stand under there, but the suspension mount worked ok. I also bought an aluminum puck that fits over the pinch weld for jacking. That worked very well. Anyway, love the video and so happy that you had fun parts to buy.

Congrats on the new car! If you haven't already, make sure your timing chain tensioner has been updated to the newest revision. The old style tensioner in the TSI engine is known to fail and cause catastrophic damage.
How did you make out with it? I’m looking at a 2010 Audi A4 tomorrow. I’ve had Mercedes before, but not Audi. Has 122K. He wants three grand for it. Do you think it’s worth it? What particularly should I look for when I check it out? Any information you can offer would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
@@dxrcymorxndi6344 honestly, with the way car prices are right now I'd be very suspicious of him only asking 3k for it. I had a LOT of problems with that Audi, and unfortunately 09 and 10 are supplsedly the years with the most problems. Let's start with the interior: it's a luxury Volkswagen, but they use cheap material. 4-5 months after buying it, I went to adjust the rear view mirror and it shattered into 100 pieces, I was still picking pieces of the plastic out when I went to sell it. I had the Sport package, and it drove great, but before long it started to feel like it was losing power. Found out my turbo had a bad seal that was leaking oil into my radiator. The in-dash screen just totally messed up one day, had the colors all messed up, then just went black one day. I also had the water pump fail three times. It's a luxury vehicle, but the water pump housing is still made of plastic and costs $370. Found a leak on my head gasket seal, which dripped directly down onto the water pump housing, and since it's plastic, it would just eventually weaken and cave in. So you can't just fix your water pump, you also have to make sure so much as a drop of oil gets on it. The water pump housing has one tiny reverse threaded bolt holding it in, and two that are normal threads. It's mounted backwards, so it's VERY easy to mess up and snap that reverse threaded bolt off. All in all, I was infatuated with the car because it was in amazing condition and looked awesome, drove really well. After constant problems with it though, I was definitely over it and sold it, went and got an Accord Sport lol. Drives just as well, and I've literally never have problems with it in 2 and a half years. Hope this helps!
Great video. I just bought a 2014 Audi A4 2.0t quattro with 40,000 miles a few months ago. I'm approaching 5,000 miles since I bought the car. Do you guys sell that rubber ring that goes below the oil cap that you took off after the oil cap. i think mine is leaking or not seating well . if you can put a link to it please.
The rubber ring you're referencing does not seal oil. There is actually a seal under the oil cap that can leak. Here's a link: goo.gl/Ts6VKN Also, it's possible your PCV is not working properly, which can cause excessive crankcase pressure and can push oil out of seals. There's lots of info about the PCV online and there's a new revision PCV to fix the issue.
