Thank you for making and sharing this video, this was very clearly explained and slowly walked through at each step - very good. Admittedly, it's a little confusing with all the different makes & models of hardness testers out there and what the levers/knobs do, but it seems like they all pretty much operate the same way. Do you perchance have any opportunity to make a video that walks through calibrating/resetting a hardness tester? I know you need a hardness standard to do that and then you would just run through the same process that you've shown here in order to get a reading, but what would happen if the measurement result didn't match up with the standard? How would you compensate or adjust for that? Thank you!
Thank you for the great video! I'm going into our testing lab to test my ZDP-189 knife steel and I'm expecting ~62. I was sure the file would be at least 60, do you think it was softened while grinding away the sharp cutting points? Thanks again!
