great rhythm, great touch ; you turn a good song into a great pleasure to listen to
Beautiful.
Sooooo very beautiful
A masterpiece. Not to be taken for granted. Like the Sunlight is not a light bulb. Your talent should be shared. Your on par with or better than Chet Atkins. The world needs to hear you Sir. Glory to God.
Beautiful 😉👍🇩🇰🇩🇰🇩🇰🇩🇰🇩🇰🇩🇰❤️.
Sweetly restrained yet bad*ss bluesy gospel acoustic pickin'. Great feel and beautiful resonant tuning. Gets down to it, wicked and relaxed.
Wow 👌
Great interpretation! I love it.
this rocks Jeff. Your feel, touch, dynamics and groove is impeccable. So much soul and what a great tune!
Great playing. I just subscribed. I have played fingerstyle Brazilian, Blues, and Ragtime guitar since I was five years old. Your technique and musicality are amazing. I love Gerhard as well.
hands down probably the best gospel solo on youtube
Very nice open tunning ,touch.... knowing how to play against that .....
......"RANG".....
Great arrangement!
Excellent performance with a fabulous sounding Martin.....unrelentess tone!
Very musically performed - touching and tasteful. Brilliant!
This is a virtually perfect rendition of Ed Gerhard's beautiful, innovative arrangement. I don't think it can be done better.
dude...DUDE!!😊
As good as I've ever felt and heard my hats off sir greatly appreciate your heart in the strings
Yeah!!! very good!!!
I just keep coming back to this video. I've learned it as well as I can over three years and just about got it now - all the nuances, but STILL not as good as this one ! Love it.
I keep coming back to this. Stunning. A star video on UA-cam and should have many more views.
Absolutely beautiful. A beautiful gospel and a wonderful job. Thanks for sharing. Gwen
So very nice. Zen picking. You fall in love with the phrasing. Hard not to sing that tune but not when you play it. Because you are hanging on each tantalizing phrase for the next one. Really compelling. You can’t not LISTEN.
Niiiiice brother. Song reminds me of my father RIP Manny
Wonderful playing with lots of small details and feeling. Your guitar also has on of the best sounds I have ever heard!
Stunning Jeff, just awesome.
Jeff - All of your videos are outstanding. I am now a Gerhard convert, have his book and am studying his pieces using YOUR videos.

Wow, Jeff...Beautiful!
Wow, sweet playing and feel, love it!
This arrangement combined with your unique and engaging playing style just leaves me in total awe!! Brilliant stuff Jeff.
Thats just great!!! Your Martin(s) sound awesome!!
Wow. Never in my life... Incredibly well played on a phenomenal sounding guitar. Thanks for sharing!
Jesus. I go from being impressed to being amazed to being intoxicated. I was 16 walking down a hall in my high school when I first heard an acoustic guitar playing what I found out a few minutes later was, “Freight Train.” I had never heard it or of Elizabeth Cotton or John Hurt or even folk music beyond the red 45 rpm record of Burl Ives I’d had as a young boy. That moment led to my slaving away in rapture for the subsequent 60 years trying to play like a black sharecropper with arthritic fingers! I sound nothing like that. Funny. If you have to go the other way, the way you play and arrange is the goal.
Great playing, Jeff! Wonderful feeling and timing, enjoyed it quite a lot, thanks!
Take care, Ronald
Absolutely beautiful work Jeff. Loved it.//Phil

@BlimpyBoy - Neuman KM184s....one over the shoulder and another at 45 degree angle around the 12-14th fret...thanks for the nice feedback!
Absolutely delightful, and with base runs to die for. Just discovered both you and Ed Gerhard (where have I been all these years, I hear you ask!) Can you tell me how you learned this, was it just by watching EG version on youtube, or is there another way? Is it STD tuning? Any help given will be much appreciated, cheers.
Thanks Jamie! - It's a 000-16 with a couple of Neumann km184s.
Jeff, I've watched this about 50 times and I keep going back to it as the best version. Do you have the tab available anywhere for purchase? I would like to have your version of this. Thanks in advance!
The tab is in Ed Gerhard Songs and Pieces for Guitar. (Most of it, anyway.)
@crzyczech Hi -thanks for the nice feed...Don't live in CA anymore.
Thanks for the feedback....I learned this from both the CD and Video...
Tuning is open D A D F# A D - good luck!
Dude.....I like your attack and finesse beater than big Ed's version!!!! Very impressive!!! Well done!!!!!!
beeeyouteeefool!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

@lydiabixby thank you!
Where are you located? I'm in Ca. [close to S.F] Would you be interested giving a lessons? Great music there. Thanks. Jeff .
You're right...I forgot that I tuned down to the original key for this...still sounds good in D though, too...
Beautiful. How is your guitar tuned? Very nice sound.
Thanks N' cheers.
Paul.
Hi - bought mine in 1990. I'm not sure if it's anything more than 000-16.
awesome! is that the basic 000-16gt model or is it a different 000-16? sounds great! been thinking about getting one.
I struggle to find how you tuned your guitar. can you please help me? and maybe a slower version cos I wanna play just like that... :)
Sounds great! What did you use to record this? And what model Martin is that? Crazy good tone!
just found a copy of the tab in Acoustic Guitar and its in Open C.
Jeff - What version of the OOO-16 is that ? It sounds lovely.
I have the 1998 SP OOO-16GT with gold coloured tuners.
I found your channel whilst googling examples of this guitar being played.
Mr Rosedale - What recording/video are you using ?
Hi Jeff! I've listened to this recording many times now! Not only is the tune sweet and your picking very tasty... I'm struck by the actual sound of your guitar. I'm currently looking for a new acoustic guitar and when I play a 000, they never sound this full or dynamic. Is this from your recording prowess. Please advise!
I'd really like to know which mic/s you were using, and where you've placed them, because that sounds absolutely stellar! As for the playing - I guess you're tired of hearing compliments by now... :-P
That. Was. Beautiful.
