Got a High Tide last month that comes standard with Xtreme Recon (35s, 4.56 gear, Dana 44, bigger brakes, etc.), will lift 2 more inches (in addition to factory 1.5 inch lift), and definitely put 37s on my stock 17 inch wheels. I want the tires to stick out just like factory (not wide). Thanks for this inspirational video!
Nice, I'm having a Rubicon XR being built with the added 2 inch mopar lift with 37 inch K02s and it looks like I will have all the room I need. Thanks 👍
I will have to look, but I was hoping to keep the factory mopar beadlock rims. I picked up a 20th anniversary 392, but wanted to keep my upgrades as genuine mopar parts, and was hoping to stick some 37s on it. so I really appreciate how detailed your video is, and I have to look at the rim specs on the factory mopar beads. thanks a ton!
They should have a 5.2 inches of backspacing which will work fine with a 37. Just add a 2 inch bump stop landing pad to the rear axle and you will be set. You can see that setup on some of my other 392 videos on the channel.
They’re really not bad. They don’t have as much sipes as my Ridge Grappler, but they work so well off-road they’ve kind of become my go to. It rains a lot here in southeastern North Carolina and I’ve never had a problem.
@@darrenroos6408 XR offers more than just wheels. You get HD axles, cast iron knuckles, bigger brakes, 4.56 gears and the rear trackbar bracket sits taller on the axle side.
7 mm vs 10 mm wall thickness on the axles. Your argument on the aluminum knuckles being better than the cast iron is incorrect and the XR brakes are larger than the regular Rubicon brakes. These are all thing you can research for yourself.
I just gotta put this out there. This jeep has a lift, recon package comes with a 2" lift. So saying no lift is a little misleading. But regardless, nice jeep.
I’m well aware of that fact and it’s something I touch on in the video. I made this for video others with the same setup as mine that were curious if you could run 37s with the Jeep as it comes from the factory. No click-bait intended.
nice video. Your jeep looks great. I've got a 2024 Rubicon X on order and have a question about the CV joints up front. Have you ever experienced any issues with these as opposed to u-joints on other models. Thanks.
I actually just did a video about these on this channel. I ended up getting rid of them and going with a set of RCV performance axleshafts. After about a year of wheeling, mine started to make noise upfront. I never broke one, but I didn’t want them to leave me stranded so I upgraded.
Love the setup bro! Man I wish I had the 4.56 on my 392. Going to upgrade my 3.73s to 4.56 or 4.88 for my 37 ridge grapplers. Sounds like the sweet spot is 4.56 though.
I really like the rear roof setup you had on your Jeep. It opened up the sides very nicely. What item is that or where can I find one. Thanks. Great Jeep. I’m going to,post some pictures of my Jeep and it looks a lot like yours!
Hey Ali, great vid as always, very well polished... That hemi roar is intoxicating, something I miss a lot from the Ram I traded in to get my JT. Great to see ya'll enjoying this rig!
Thank you. The BFG’s run a little smaller than the Nitto, so you likely won’t run as much in the rear. However, it will still most likely rub off-road. You can probably get away with adding a 2-inch bump stop out back and be fine.
Btw I love my Clayton Off-road Overland Plus 2.5” lift with Fox 2.5s DSCs. Keeps it low like you mentioned. Check them out! Plus it’s made in the USA and built specific for the 392

I use a Tazer module from ZAutomotive It allows you to put the transfer case into 2WD. If you search the videos on the Driving Line channel you will find the one where I show you how it works.
Hi! Thanks for information. Do you think the wheels "Icon Compression" would fit well inside the bodywork? I think it has similar aspects. Thank you 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻
That wheel has 4.5 inches of backspacing. So, it’s going to push the wheel out further from the Jeep. I would look for a wheel with a higher amount of backspacing. I’m not saying it won’t work for certain, but I think it’s more likely to rub on the flare with that backspacing number.
Great video…I’m still trying to decide if I want to go 35’s on my Rubicon…I’m worried about power and gas mileage. I’m currently getting 21-22mpg. It’s my daily and my weekend toy.

Still curious about the strength of the front cv's. I have them as well on my sarge green 2.0 JLRU on 37 inch bfg km3s. Mine has them because I have the full time t case.
They are the same ones they have been putting on Rubicon Wranglers overseas for years without issue. I don’t know how strong they are. They definitely make me nervous. I’d like to eventually swap them out for some RCV shafts for peace of mind.
I’m really close to ordering a 2023 and I’m going back and forth on the recon package…my goal would be to end up getting 37s not too long after and selling the 35s I know you say just some bump stop extensions would make the 37s work but could you also do something like a budget 1-2” coil spaced lift for some added room for the 37s?
The 392 has different bump stop extensions in the front. It also has about a half inch more lift than the non-392. You could still run bump stops with the XR package on a non-392 and likely get away with 37‘s, but you’re not going to have as much travel. I currently have a set of 2 inch bump stop landing pads in the rear of this Jeep now and I do not rub the 37‘s at all. Again, this is going to be different on a non 392
Your setup looks great! Look forward to what you figure out. Ordered a 392 non XR a few weeks ago. Planning on doing something to get the same problems you have described fixed. Hoping by the time I get delivery, something exist for the suspension.
All depends on what you want out of your Jeep. That’s the great thing about wranglers you can build them they way you want it. The 4XE is nice for the torque and MPG. The 392 sold me on sound couldn’t live without it. Plus I’m sure they will hold pretty good value as the wranglers already do. With Jeep going more towards electric as we get close to 2025 I’m sure the value will stay high on 392s.

My steering feels fairly tight and a little heavy because of the 4Auto feature. The iron box is way better feedback-wise over the aluminum one for sure. It's possible yours just needs a re-flash.
All 392s come with a lift (appx 2 inches). The Xtreme Recon on the 392 just changes the shocks. So, same lift height and bump stop extensions from the factory.
A budget boost or just OME 2" will actually correct your geometry and looks perfect, just the right amount of wheel well and LCG , I could see from the head on shot and looks like your front track is over to the driver's side about a 1" and a half , get a 2" and some fancy tube fenders and some adjustable control arms upper and lower front and back and She ✔️ done ✔️
I haven’t seen how they do the bump stops on the front of the High Tide editions. I know it states it has a 1.5 inch lift, but the 392 has a two inch lift with the bump stop extensions on the frame side. I know on the Gladiator platform you can run a 37 with just a 1 inch spacer and 1 inch bump stop. I’m guessing this will be the same for the front of the JL as well.
Is that bumper different from the stock sport bumper? my 35” is rubbbing bumper pretty bad. Wonder if the tire shop just didn’t raise it up lol could prolly wheel that just about anywhere with different fenders
Is it normal to have some engine noise at startup with this engine? I just picked one up a few weeks ago and since day one, it has above average engine noise for the first 20-30 seconds of running when cold. Do you notice this with yours?
I haven’t had any real issues with the Tazer. The only odd thing that it does from time to time is cause the 4 Auto light to flash when you swap to 2WD. It’s not consistent, but it’s happened. Unfortunately, I haven’t figured out how to shutdown it going into cylinder deactivation mode.
Have the same car, dying to go to 37s but worried about rubbing, and don’t want to lift so it can still fit in my garage ( I have a gobi roof rack). Think I could get away with 37 ko2s not true 37s?
You’ll still rub in the rear. I ended up adding a 2-inch bump stock out back and it’s working great. I did a video on that here: ua-cam.com/video/O84znbc0MZI/v-deo.html
I am buying wrangler rubicon for the 1st time! And i am thinking to get a lift kit and 37 inch tires. What kind of lift kit should i consider? 2.5 or 3.5 ?
All you need is a 2.5 inch lift to run a 37-inch tall tire on the 2018 to present Jeep Wrangler Rubicon. There are a lot of great options on the market ( JKS, Rock Krawler, and EVO Mfg are all excellent).
Depending on the backspacing on the wheel, it would likely work on the road just fine. To allow it to cycle fully off-road, you would need at least a 2-inch bumpstop extension out back and possibly a 2-inch one up front. I'm currently testing out a 38x13.50 under my 392 (with a 2.5 inch JKS lift). It works fine on-road, but I haven't taken it on the trail yet.
The 4.56 gears seem fine for this setup. These tires are appx 2.50 inches taller and 20 pounds heavier than what came on the Jeep stock. It’s a noticeable difference, but I don’t think it will require a gear change.
Try taking it in the rocks and see how fast you chew up fenders, tires, axles. Nothing but a Pavement/ grocery getter. Also it comes with a 2" lift. What a joke!
I’m guessing you didn’t watch the entire video as I discussed the fact that you can’t really wheel it on any serious trails as it sits. I covered the suspension as well. The point of this video was to help others with this same setup determine if 37’s actually work. Also, if you are going to diss my Jeep, at the very least call it a mall crawler. What is a Pavement Getter? 😂
I have a 2021 rubicon jlu. Daily driver and will never go offroad. Can I fit 37s with no lift and have same look as yours? Or is 392 higher than a regular rubicon?. Also only 410 gears with these be ok for daily driving of 37s or should I stick to 35s?
The 392 comes with what is essentially a 2 inch lift. You can run 35s on your JL with no lift and be fine. For daily driving, I would stick with the 35s with the 4.10 gears. With 37s, I would recommend differential gears for sure.

Can you restore my 2002 Mazda millennia, it has sentimental value and I can’t see myself letting it go. Can you help me.
Sorry. I’m definitely not the man for that job.
So, could I technically run some 38x12.50s with only a 1/2" spacer lift? 🤷🏿♂️
You have to change the ratio to 5:1
The 4.56 gears seem fine for this setup. These tires are appx 2.50 inches taller and 20 pounds heavier than what came on the Jeep stock. It’s a noticeable difference, but I don’t think it will require a gear change.
YASSSS
Not gonna work with stock wheels. Probably need some spacers.
Correct. Stock wheels and 37s will rub on the control arms without wheel spacers. I’m sticking with AEV wheels for my 392.
37 1250 R 22s fit my super duty with no lift
Cough cough BFGs.
You mention wheels where not balanced , hoes it drive any vibrations
No. These roll smooth. My 40-inch Trail Grapplers are the same way.

Never goes off asphalt! Newbie!
@@DrivingLine There are "Karens" everywhere. Even in the Jeeping community. No escaping them. Great content. Thanks.
@@DrivingLine ok thanks so much
