MIRACULOUS NOVENA PRAYER TO OUR LADY OF LOURDES

NOVENA TO OUR LADY OF LOURDES for MERCY, HEALTH OF THE SICK, REFUGE OF SINNERS, COMFORT IN TIMES OF NEED
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.
Amen.
When Jesus saw His mother
and the disciple whom He loved,
standing nearby,
He said to His mother,
“Woman, behold, your son!”
Then He said to the disciple,
“Behold, your mother!”
And from that hour
the disciple took her
to his own home.
John 19:26-27
O, Brilliant Star of Purity
Mary Immaculate,
Our Lady of Lourdes,
glorious in your assumption,
triumphant in your coronation,
show unto us the mercy of the Mother of God.
Virgin Mary and Queen,
be our comfort, hope,
strength and consolation. Amen.
Our Lady of Lourdes,
we come to you like little
Bernadette at the grotto.
We pray with childlike
trust in you.
Our Lady of the
Immaculate Conception,
when you appeared in Lourdes,
you made it a holy sanctuary
where many have obtained the cure
of their infirmities,
both spiritual and corporal.
We pray with confidence
for your holy intercession.

we feel confident that your prayers
on our behalf will be graciously heard by God.
Immaculate Mother, *show us your mercy, O Mother of God.

Immaculate Mother, *fill our hearts with love for Jesus and for you.
Immaculate Mother, *give us what your motherly heart sees we need at this moment.

Remember,
O most gracious Virgin Mary,
that never was it known
that anyone who fled
to thy protection,
implored thy help,
or sought thy intercession
was left unaided.
Inspired by this confidence,
we fly unto thee,
O Virgin of virgins,
our mother;
to thee do we come,
before thee we stand,
sinful and sorrowful.
O Mother of the Word Incarnate,
despise not our petitions,
but in thy mercy,
hear and answer us.

IMMACULATE CONCEPCION, OUR LADY OF LOURDES' APPARITIONS TO SAINT BERNADETTE
First apparition: the first contact. No word exchanged.
Second apparition: the smile of the Lady.
Third apparition: the promises."I promise you happiness, not in this world but in the other."
FEB 22
Fourth to seventh apparitions: prayer. The apparitions are, above all, a time of prayer.
Eighth to twelfth apparitions: penance and the discovery of the spring.
At the grotto Bernadette hears and repeats the words of the lady: "Penance, penance, penance. Pray to God for the con¬version of sinners."
FEB 25
On February 25th, the Lady directs Bernadette to a place in the grotto where she discovers a spring: "Go drink from the spring and wash yourself there. At first, it is just a puddle of water, all muddy. But as the hours pass it becomes more plentiful and clearer: like grace which triumphs over sin.
Thirteenth to fifteenth apparitions: a call to the Church.
The lady sends Bernadette on a mission: "Go to the priests and tell them that that people should come here in procession and that a chapel be built here.”
Sixteenth apparition: the disclosure of the name.
On March 25th, the day of the Annunciation, Bernadette feels herself called again. At the fourth request of Bernadette, the Lady, finally, says her name: "I am the Immaculate Conception.”
Seventeenth apparition: in the light of Easter.
Bernadette comes holding a large candle, which had been given to her, in her hand. The candle burns during the apparition: by now Bernadette's hands encircle the flame itself. At the time, no pain, nor any sign of burning afterwards.
Eighteenth apparition: farewells.
JULY 16
The apparition took place at the end of the day. Bernadette was aware that it was the last. It did not matter to her too much, because she knows that in heaven it will be even more beautiful.
